    thank you!! this was very helpful - my headlights on my 2000 Jeep Wrangler Sport were intermittent and go over a bump and they would turn off. Replaced the fuse but no luck and then found the melted switch thanks to your video. The headlights completely stopped working last night, so I am thankful you posted this video!

    Best video ever. That is NOT how the manual says to release it. If you are removing the plastic instrument panel, and the metal panel, or either, this is the best way. Did it in 5 seconds.

    What a very simple job that I totally would have messed up without your video, thanks!
    I dont think i ever would have figured out how to remove the puller and unscrew the place where it goes.
    Oh, and it fixed my problem too (lights going on and off while driving requiring a wiggle of the switch to get back on)
    Also sprayed the crap out of everything with electronics cleaner

    Just seen this video very helpful, my issue is when i click on the first time the parking lights won’t turn on, but when i pull for the headlights just the headlights turn on. I figured that when i go to pull right before the first click theyll come on but not when they click, how they’re suppose too. Any ideas?

    I'm about to go try this - my headlights (and running lights) are going off and on, but I can slightly move the headlight knob and they will come back on - I'm hoping I can just make an adjustment. I have two other electrical problems in my 99 Jeep Cherokee Sport - one is I have to turn the key 3 times to crank - I know it sounds crazy and nobody believes me, but it will start every time on the 3rd try! WTH? The other problem I believe may also be in the ignition switch - sometimes, when I crank, I have power windows, door locks, and radio, other times, I don't. I can turn off and crank again and they will work. Any thoughts? Thanks so much!

    had a PO do some wiring. Jeep has windshield KC's and KC Fog light and top light bar the fog lights don't work. Found where the parking light switch appears to have been clipped off. Do you have a layout of what wires go to what on the relay?

    Awesome video man! I fond a burnt connector (which i believe is terminal circuit A3 14RD/WT, Fused B+, top right corner) on my 97 wrangler TJ :( . Any idea where I could find that connector online or at a store? I've searched everywhere on the web but cant seem to find it. A junkyard would be my last option. Thanks!

    Awesome video. My buddy has a 2001 jeep cherokee sport which has a problem with the lights. Only the driver side works and not the passenger unless you use the turn signal or brakes. Would you happen to know what the cause is so i can fix it for him? Headlights are aftermarket which are HIDs which are not the cause of this.

      check the ground to the light. switch after that its really just going over the harness and seeing if its that or the switch might be on its way out if you have a digital multimeter or voltmeter check at the light plug for vltage then check at the switch and make sure the switch isn't toast

    Hello, my husband has a Wrangler and he´s having trouble with the switch, just like you showed on your video (very good by the way). But we´re from Brazil, and we´re having some trouble on find the pieces. The part that you pulled of the connector (the one that goes on top of it), whta´s the name of it? We´ve found the one with the wires, but the one that goes on top of it, we´re not finding because we do not know its name in english. Can you help us? Thanks! Best Regards!

    this is the exact problem i'm having right now. the only problem is that i can't seem to find that connector online or at any junkyard thats willing to let me take just the connector and not the entire harness. it's a 2001 jeep cherokee. any tips on where to find it? i have one for a 95. its the same pattern for the plug ins, but doesn't have that red cover. i'm concerned with whether or not a 95 will work o the 01.

    Hey thanks for the great vid! i do have a question though, I just took out the old switch and replaced it with a new one, however when I try to put the original pull knob back in it won't catch and just comes right back out when I pull on it. Even if I push in the release button it still won't lock into place. What am I doing wrong. FYI: I had to stand on my head just to get the knob to come out of the old switch. It was a real bear

    • @ghostlyrich
      @ghostlyrich  8 років тому

      thats so wierd I have never run into the issue I would hate to say defective switch..

    • @zachwildman3220
      @zachwildman3220 8 років тому

      Well....crap lol. I've looked at the notch on the pull switch and it doesn't looked damaged or broken. To get the pull switch out of the old one I had to push the button then turn and pull the knob for it to come out, like you would to dim the dash lights. I'll play around with it some more and see what happens.

    • @zachwildman3220
      @zachwildman3220 8 років тому

      Well I played around with it for a good hour or more and finally called it quits. Will be sending back the "new" part and finding a new one. Definitely a faulty part

    Sometimes when I pull the switch out, headlights don't turn on (only parking lights do). They only turn on after I "play" a little with the dimmer. Can this be a bad switch issue?

    When I turn my lights on, only my high beams come on. When I pull the switch just for my parking lights, that's the only time my fog lights will work. Ive replaced my switch. No blown fuses. Is it my multifunction switch (blinker thingy) that keep my high beams on? I don't know what else to do.
