Hi Iain, hope yourself and Frances are fine, and keeping that Indian blighter at bay. Sorry for not replying sooner, but me and Shirley have been enjoying a few days at Polperro (Cornwall), and very enjoyable it was too. Glad to see at least a Sea Trout latching onto your fly. That Salmon is out there waiting for you, you just need to agree a time and place to meet up. Until then Tight Lines
Well done getting away and enjoying yourself Paul. It brings a little normality back into your life . I hope that Frances and the grandchildren are visiting and keeping you active. I have been out since and edited a video before sticking it on UA-cam but had to remove it as the ghillie didn't want to be filmed and I hope to have it ready to put back on soon . I am sure that you will enjoy it as I had a bit more fun all the best Cheers Iain 🥃
Oh well, not your day but as enjoyable as ever. Tricky wind which doesn't make it any easier casting. I'm not getting out much at the moment so always look forward to your outings. Tight lines as always...😎👍👍
I dont think that you are missing much Mr Mazo I hope that you manage out soon as there appear to be a few fresh fish in some rivers in the lowers beats . out on Tuesday with Mike at Upper Redgorton and looking forward as I have not managed a day there this year 🎣😊 Cheers Iain 🥃
👍👍👍🎣😊 well done Padraig fish in some rivers appear to be a bit scarce over here . but I have heard that there seems to be more fish seen in the lower Tweed over the last week . Cheers Iain 🥃
Hi James almost as you say I am well I think my landing net is starting to get a bit to rusty but apart from that ok . I hope all is well with you Cheers Iain 🥃
Oh well , it looked like some nice water . Went out two days ago 25mph straight upstream, the wind really helped me improve my Skagit casing especially with my left hand but takes its toll mentality. I see you were using the 14’9” 10wt Oracle how do you like it ? Tight Lines 🥃
Hi Mike I have noticed some replies dont go through....... The wind can be in our favour or we have a fight and if you can overcome the conditions you have a better chance of a fish . the rod is a Shakespear Scandi the best value for money rod on the market 👌 Cheers Iain 🥃
I think that there have been a lack of fish this season I think that if we manage to get a fly in front of a fish we are doing well tight lines Cheers Iain 🥃
I think that there are so many rivers that have struggled this year . Catches have been down but there seems to bee a few more fish coming into the lower pools in a few rivers I hope this is the start of some decent runs of fish I hope that everything is good with yourself and catches are as you would hope for Cheers iain 🥃
@@IainSB My chance for salmon in freshwater doesn’t start until August. Lost one Cherry Salmon early this month off the beach….things can only get better?!?! Tight lines to you.🎣
Bit uncomfortable for casting that the bottom there... fished it for the first time today, and gave it 2 casts and tangles before I just skipped down to the section just above where the beat ends...
Hi Christopher I think that the way the bank has broken away makes it difficult when the wind is upstream as there is very little room to make a loop behind ...... I hope that you enjoyed your day as it is a beautiful to fish and Moray enjoys letting everyone into the pools with the best chance of a fish Cheers Iain 🥃
Thanks James I have heard that some rivers have had fresh fish in the lower beats so I will have to sharpen my hooks and get back out after I have taken the rust of my landing net 😊 Cheers Iain 🥃
Hi Hal I think that in fishing smaller rivers we have an advantage in as much as the fish have less places to hide and we can cover all the lies . I have to admit that I love fishing large rivers and trying to cover as much water as possible I think that the rod I was using was 14foot 9 10 weight . I will be fishing down stream about 12 miles on Tuesday and hope to fish with a 12foot 7 weight and still happy as I will be back out on the river Look after you and yours Cheers Iain 🥃
it is strange Robert that on occasions when there is a strong breeze blowing upstream that it can destroy casting and send you home worn out . A howling gale can be overcome with a lot of effort but seems to be more manageable. It all adds to the challenge and there is always another day with new challenges to help enjoy another day at the river 👌 Cheers Iain 🥃

The tail of Guay is really wide Ian and hard to pin them down in it at that height. Seems your having the same kinda luck as me this season!

Hey Iain,
Picky fishes they are, a bit spoiled for not taking the Iain Baines Special!
I hope it will soon get better.
Kind regards,
Marcel
Thanks again Marcel I will be out on one of my favourite beats at Upper Redgorton on Tuesday ,,,,,,, as always ever hopeful
Stay safe Cheers Iain 🥃
Who looks after this beat, is it the Mr Smith?
Hi Charles I have only ever called the ghillie by his first name Moray
Just a matter of time now….every cast takes us one step closer to our next fish🎣🎣🎣

Never fly fished a river that wide. Beautiful water. My 14 foot, Nine weight would get good exercise as well as I. Next time for sure. Cheers🍻🇺🇸
