Watching Buddy Hackett playing this game is a trip. He's so wacky, wound-up but at times very funny. That atom bomb joke he told was a bust but the rest of the time he was fun. Betsy wasn't such a bad player herself. I really enjoyed myself!
The bomb joke was amazing! He was so outrageous, unexpected, inappropriate. That’s what made him unique. Nobody would make a joke like that back then! Just keeping it real!🤗
This was the fourth time, I think that Betsy's been on and this was the ONLY time she wasn't annoying (I guess she decided to leave the annoying bit up to Buddy instead)
Thank you so much for putting on these shows. It’s wonderful to see them again. I love it when the announcer, Bob, couldn’t help but laugh when he was announcing the password. I agree the atom bomb joke wasn’t in the best taste, but Buddy did a good job for his contestant-he held back on goofing around. I’m only half way through this one, though. I may regret saying that. Lol
Blur is one heckuva tough word to solve, all I could come up with was fuzzy. Even if I were to click on the description, I wouldn't know if this was a Sunday Or a weekday show 😮. The only clue I could think of for jaunt is jog
@@teeniebeenie8774 It's almost like she has ADHD and she keeps talking but the odd thing is she has no remorse for doing it and she keeps doing it over and over again even when Allen tells her to stop. Ugh! Frustrating to watch her sometimes.
Teresa Wells It seems today that every eccentricity or personality trait has to be given a clinical diagnosis; to me that’s frustrating. Betsy was an effervescent character and I say hurrah for those kind of people.
Oh YAY! When Allen talked to her the last time she was on, he seriously acted like he didn't like her. Why in the WORLD would he have her back?! She never SHUTS UP!!!! (although I have to admit, she did pretty good on THIS episode). Normally it's Besty's who's super annoying. This time is was BUDDY!
Buddy Hackett: “Anything that gets a laugh is good to talk about.” (After tacky joke about Canada/Canadian contestant) Allen: “I can’t live that way.” *Allen always knew what to say and how to say it. He was nobody’s doormat, nor did he let anyone else be.
For "Blur" I would have probably tried for "Unfocused" which it looks like, according to my speech-to-text device, is just one word :-) [The answer spoken probably would have been "blurry" to which the host would have said that "form of the word" deal and hopefully the answer would change to "Blur"]
6:20 A young snowflake would hear that comment today and yell, "Cancel him! Cancel him!" because they have been brainwashed into thinking it's wrong to say something like that. Poor kids.
Buddy is side-splittingly anarchic, he really liked that first lady that came on, he looked sad to let her go. I laughed when he was so wound up he started flattening his hair, I think Allan tolerated his disruption more than with other guests as he's oddly adorable and like a funny little gnomey person.
Allen was saying it to Betty's mother. Betty's mother absentmindedly said it once when saw him on tv and Allen would say it just as nice thing for her after that incident.
Later on, he says it to Betty's mother, but it's kind of hard to say it to his mother-in-law NOW since they didn't even know each other yet (yea, I know what someone on here said about their relationship blooming when he was on vacation, but that 's not true. All ya gotta do is Google it. The didn't even MEET til Password, so it's kinda hard for him to have said that his mother-in-law) Later on he does
Slightly off topic from "jaunty," I have been watching a run of these and they have used "chopsticks" three different times. Did they have an allotment of words they had to keep re using?
@@johnfd0210 They did use some words pretty frequently. My guess is that the producers chose words that they believed would elicit humorous or clever responses, although that is an awfully inexact science.
Why you whiny bitches always gotta take a swing at Betsy Palmer? Grow the fuck up and pay attention: Buddy Hackett was HILARIOUS or did you even notice?

"We kiss at the end of the game." OHMIGOD. Here it is, folks! Here is the proof the MeToo movement has been looking for. Finally, evidence of all the evil male corruption in Hollywood, right there on film! It's been proven beyond science, now. The tv station should have to pay for therapy for that woman and her next three descendants (oppression passes through generations, yanno).
Notice how many of us crave this kind of TV. Because there’s nothing but junk on the TV anymore. These are great it literally calms me down.
I am liking all these games of Password and seeing all the past stars. I like the word game and Alan was a great host.
Buddy was a total one of a kind....
I was four days old when this aired. :-)
I've got you by six days
That Feena-mint joke is hilarious. That was a laxative in case nobody remembers it.
Forgot all about that one. Now I remember it.
Hackett was the funniest man on tv!!! superb on johnny carson..
he my fave guest on password ever. so durn funny
HAHAHAHAHA (ok)
GET ME THE OTHER ONE! 😂😂 Buddy Hackett is great
Guy's was a nut.
If you meant he was great at being ANNOYING, I couldn't agree more!!
“Had to get a city girl”
Coming up with “jaunt”… who would ever think of that???

I love and miss Buddy Hackett. :(
The contestant Joe looked like a serious business man. But I thought he had an adorable personality and enthusiasm. Blessings from California. 🦊

Oh Buddy well said about the politicians!!
Buddy Hackett is friggin hysterical.
1:26..."You're going to be "Anna"?" "No, Allen, I'm going to be "The King"!"
The round Buddy claimed that ‘when you win everyone kisses you’ would have been funny that he kissed that man who won.

You can kiss Betsy Palmer once but twice fergit it! 9:45
somethin odd bout her, never could put my finger on it: a bit daffy...
Yes I noticed that!

Buddy Hackett's partner opposite the principal reminds me of Betty Boop.

I don't think celebrities enjoyed being kissed by contestants.
They sure had a lot of Southern women on this show.
Buddy Hackett: “Anything that gets a laugh is good to talk about.” (After tacky joke about Canada/Canadian contestant)
Allen: “I can’t live that way.”

Buddy must be good at Crossword puzzles.
he was a very smart guy

13:51 sounds like Betsy quietly blurted out a hint.
I hate the way that Hackett makes fun of the Southern contestant's accent. She doesn't even have much of one. Such NY arrogance.

How could anyone dislike the adorable, and truly hilarious Buddy Hackett?
He was super funny in this episode especially !! Blessings from California. 🙉
I don't know this for a fact, but it seems that Allen Ludden is saying "Hi doll" to his wife, Betty White?
I wondered about that too!
Allen was saying it to Betty's mother. Betty's mother absentmindedly said it once when saw him on tv and Allen would say it just as nice thing for her after that incident.

Allen said nucular, then corrected himself and said nuclear.
Jaunt? Who comes up with these words?
I was thinking jaunty cap!

Sweet Betsy Palmer... who would be Jason's murderous mother in the original Friday The 13th.
SWEET Betsy Palmer?
lol (ok)
Whoever gave Betsy that hairstyle should have been run out of town.
? I've seen a helluva lot worse.
Chris N I think it suits her.
