Happy Building.
Awesome video. Many of these videos give you the quick edited version of what someone can make. Yours are like a detailed training class. Thanks so much
This is something I would like to try. That is buy silver not make.
Thanks 👍 if I get time I will build some.
I built a few cables now inspired by your self, really happy with them
Great video, thanks 👍 I've used a lot of your ideas in my own cable-making.
Great video mate, liking the pure silver conductor, keep up the good work.
Great video, pace is just right to follow. Built mine this afternoon using 0.5mm silver, really easy build and looks
awesome. Hardest part was getting the plug bodies cut back to size for the cable and also stopping the wiring from twisting up when screwing together.
Always love your diy videos. Don’t you worry about cinematography - it’s the content and knowledge you’re sharing that matters. If you’re worried about length (I’m not) take a look at joppe peelen’s channel. He narrates himself and has a few tricks for speeding up videos. He makes some amazing planar magnetic speakers, by the way, so you may like his stuff anyway.
Hello Tweaker man,
I watched a lot of your videos, really like em.
I decided to make a cable with 0.5mm silver wire, grabbed stuff that I had lying around.
Old ptfe tape, old crap rca plugs and some cotton hollow 3mm rope.
It took me an our and a half to make a set and it looked awful.
It was a mix of your interconnects with the 0.5mm silver wire.
Plugged them in and played them.
I have a very good /excellent high end vintage system.
I was wondering if the would be as good as the €600,- NBS,
Which I use as the reference interconnects.
They are!! I am dumb struck and this is without burn in time.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge!!
Keep up the brilliant work you genius you!!
Hi Ian, it's my Mum's funeral tomorrow, hoping to get back to you by end of the week.
Stay safe.
Jim 🏴 😔
Hi Jim, I hope your ok at this sad time, I'll wait to hear from you.
Just watched video and as usual a great result. I am considering building my own high end USB cable following the same procedure. What do you think?
Hello, go for it, I will try to do a usb cable soon, thanks for the kind words & thanks for watching.
great
Hi, nice video! Silly question: how many watts is the solder you use (or in general one suited for this kind of applications)? I think I’m using too much power as sometimes I end-up melting the connector itself (if I indulge too much due to tricky soldering).
Hello Saverio, this is the solder I use, I find it to be the best www.ebay.co.uk/itm/400563981428
Thanks for commenting & watching👍
@@tweakerman thanks, great. What about the soldering iron? That’s where I probably go wrong with wattage...
@@saverioricchiuto5386 I'm juat using this, it work exceptional www.toolstation.com/draper-soldering-station/p62910?store=EJ&gclid=Cj0KCQjwvr6EBhDOARIsAPpqUPFX8Wb0W6dJHeOCCbhi0itz2Mz7biM606sVJwg9osrNXFn8MOYP2hgaAsR9EALw_wcB
Why not cotton insulation?
Don't ever move/shake the wire wile soldering. Connector AND wire has to be in a fixed position.
Whait 60 secs. while the joint is cooling down before you touch it again. This is very important!
The XLR plugs you list are no longer available it seems. Is r here an alternative you would suggest that will allow for the. Modifications due to the thicker cable?
Thanks

Try these, thanks for commenting & watching 👍
Thank so very much. I’ve just finished your speaker cables and matching speaker jumpers.
Do you think soldered terminations are always better than screw fixings for bananas and spades?
You’re videos are invaluable. The Draper I bought on your recommendation is great.
Your generosity is appreciated. I was you had a Patreon I could contribute to.
@tweaker man, can i use this PTFE covered wire? 5m 0.50mm PTFE covered 99.99% silver wire. I saw this form the site you linked. If not, why and what are the differences from the wire you are using? Btw, i like your DIY projects and keep up the good job you're doing. Thank you. -Chris
Hello Chris, that wire would be fine to use, go for it & let me know the results, thanks for commenting & watching👍
@@tweakerman I will try. Thanks for your quick reply.
@@tweakerman Btw, when using this PTFE covered wire, do i still have to add another layers of PTFE like you did? Thanks.
@@tophernibaiSJ2023 yes to keep the twist together.
@@tweakerman thanks.
haha soldering moans.....why not solder the same way you do with the RCA connectors? In the amp....
Try treading the conductors with a large needle through the piping cord ;)
Hello, this cable is just a pure teflon insulated cable, I will do another video at a later date, thanks for commenting & watching.
The PTFE tape is a great product, versatile and fast to use. I often thread cotton tubes over the bare conductors, then use PTFE tape to secure them and build the cable. That's entirely thanks to Tweakerman, before seeing his videos, I had never owned any PTFE tape. Now, I always keep it in stock.
