Loving the videos guys. It’s really refreshing to see some honest reviews and options of gear instead of people feeling they need to sugar coat the truth because they’ve payed x y Z for something.
Great video guys, you can make the seats more comfortable by using gel infused cushions, or inflatable bottom cushions aswell, not dear, I've played with a few and they work, just find what works for you and the kids, 😊👍
Mate, gr8 vid and no B.S - yep they are a work horse but if looked after will see 500k without too many issues and will get the job done. Mates have on their sheep station and the oldest is about 40years old and still used daily by the station hands for hard yakka! We ordered and are driving one of the last 200's in a VX and only because I could and also im 60 so wanted an auto and a bit of bloody comfort when we start our touring.
What tyre size are you running and what is your pm in 5th when doing 110km/h (GPS) I'm considering going from 285/75R16 to 315/75R16. Currently doing 2100rpm in 5th at 110km/h
The part I always have a laugh about, there is so many compromises with the 79 Series LC. I have talked to a quite a few owners and they say, love the power, but from the show room floor, no not good, oh yeah I had to pay for a decent tune, oh yeah, changed out to seats, yeah the aircon is not good, oh, changed out the entertainment system, yeah don't like this terrible 100mm less rear track, have paid a fortune to fix that, don't like the hard ride, paid a fortune for a coil conversion, I would love an auto trans, the alternator is in a crap location. Gee, it cost me a fortune to buy as well, but I love my 79. That's all that matters.
At 0.19 you say you're combined is 7.2 ton. If you're towing 3.5 ton then you're cruisers sitting at 3.7? Seems a bit heavy. Thought standard GVM and GCM were 3.3 and 6.8. What upgrades do you have? Cheers
Just a shame Toyota has put an unknown pause on ordering a 79. I’ve rung 2 dealers. One said 4 years, the other said at least 2 years by the time you get one then there is probably another 6-12 months putting it together how you want. Yes there is the second hand market but your paying an extra $40-$60K for one. 🥹
That’s why I like your comment no bullshit👍

Great lil vid gang and appreciate the honesty about that stunning BEAST of a 79 series 👍❤👍🔥🤘🔥🤘
Yep, agree with it all.
Wouldnt trade my 79 for the world - love it.
Great vid mate.👊

How can you compare a fj cruiser to a y62 for towing? Madness.
Honestly comparing the diesel to petrol
love the 79 they are very reliable and robust
I have a 2022 wildtrak on order but I honestly think they're boring... there's just something about the 70 series.....
Awesome video man!
Did you do sound deadening in the cab?? I checked your page and I can’t see a video rundown on what mods you did do to the 79
No I didn’t sound deaden. I don’t find it that bad.

@@SmartTouringSystems thanks 👍
When travelling up the range what speed were you doing to control your EGT please
Varies depending on the road but 4th is usually fine unless extremely steep.
