@@CREATEEDUCATEINSPIRE Exactly this genre, Maybe Boris Bretcha style, Tech house, So many different genres now. I started out in the late 80's on an atari 1040st and akai s1000, how times and software have changed! I'm on my 4th 'Live'since they were released. Sold them as I was frustrated with bugs and midi issues, I think it is now where I dreamed of it being software wise. I only use in standalone to sequence my synths. I just purchased the 'retro live' the same as yours and am over the moon with it. I'll be keeping this one, I actually prefer it to the 'X'
@@FrankieWildeDJ awesome! Congrats on the purchase! I’ll check out some Boris tracks and do some sound alike videos in stand-alone with The synths in the MPC, maybe an external if I can get my hands on something.
I second this as an old school vinyl DJ, bought my MPC one for house/tech mainly. If anything, hip hop has been stealing house tech samples for years now.
I agree with everyone about how cool it is seeing something besides boom bap. I wish there were more glitch/IDM examples of the MPC but hey maybe I gotta see if I can tame it if/when I get one.
@@CREATEEDUCATEINSPIRE I had the MPC One for a while. I found drum programming for most styles pretty straight forwards. The process I didn't much enjoy was getting parts I'm playing on instruments in quickly to develop ideas with a fluent workflow. Recording, edit sample, then assign to pad, then add that to the first beat of a loop was annoyingly time consuming. The audio tracks weren't much better when it came to editing. I've found Ableton and a Push 2 are a much better environment for me since I sampling is only a auxiliary function of my process.
Since I posted this I figured out a fun trick, open your time correction settings and change the shuffle, then use note repeat and hold down your hi-hat. This way you can play with the shuffle of the hi-hats in real time before recording anything. It didn't matter whether I had the global timing button on or off, note repeat seems to override that but not the shuffle. Hopefully I explain that well
This was a really useful video and like others have said it’s not the usual boompbap thang. I’m using mine with the iPad (I’ve got an AUM template), samples from UA-cam and pc for vst synths and then recording into audio or sampling etc. Same sort of genre and a bit of drum and bass, breakbeat and progressive ambient trance stuff. I just fire it up and see where it takes me. I find I’ve got a lot of 16 bar loop tracks that I just mute in and out, nothing structured like a traditional daw. Be good to see some sequence workflows. I’m kinda thinking I need to just export and arrange in Ableton maybe until we see an arranger on a future update. Liked and subscribed 👍🏻
Yeah I'm like you, use my MPC for making sweet loops etc. But the speed of my arrangement workflow in Ableton compared to MPC is enormous. It's just too cumbersome but for ideas and inspiration, drum machine is my favorite
I really like your trick regarding the swing, could I feature that in a video and give you credit by shouting out your Instagram? Let me know your Instagram so I can make sure to give you full credit in a video
Do you have a reason why you've chosen in the main drum to double trigger the kick with pad1+5 instead of layering them both kick sounds on a pad 1 and edit them individually via the sampler? Especially since the kick is the source for the mother ducker?
I choose to usually double trigger a kick because I’ll have one subkick and one kick with the low and cut out. That just makes it easier for sequencing so you don’t have to automate a low-cut, you can simply delete the sub cake and keep the low cut kick going
Always happy to see people using the MPCs for something other than boom bap 👍

Ever since I’ve gotten my Live2, I’ve wanted to make some house music.. I loved Chicago house when I was young and still enjoy the genre today
Superb video! Starting to see the MPC series being used a lot more for this genre of music now instead of just 'Hip Hop'
Thanks!!! What style of music would you like to seem on the MPC?

@@CREATEEDUCATEINSPIRE some groovy and hypnotic techno like Rene Wise would also be very interesting ! :)

That warp tip on the vocal was pure gold thanks x
Thanks for watching!! More videos to come.

I find the MPC super fast for techno and house, especially drums. Thinking of doing a hard/ preaktime techno video.

Glad it was helpful!
Didn't hear any mention of swing or shuffle. Great video, learned something new!!!!
Thanks for watching, I’m planning on doing a video on how to properly use swing and shuffle in your productions.

You are right about how great drum synth is. I used your advise about laying down a pattern and switching sounds out. Awesome. Great video

Thanks for the video ! i would be interested in seeing something about arranging in standalone and doing some automations for nice drops!
Sure. I can do a build up/ drop tutorial
@@CREATEEDUCATEINSPIRE that would be nice! :)
Great video and tutorial! Powerful beat :)
So Awesome 💯
Great video! Helps in learning to create house on MPC
Will have some more start to finish videos soon.
Very nice breakdown! I just got the MPC one yesterday. It’s my first MPC so I’ve got a lot to learn!
Well done !!
Thanks!
Excellent 👌💪🙏
Thank you 🙌
Good job
Do it again
Great Video. Akai should pay you for this. Its all good have demo projects but it needs someone to do videos to run through them
I think ill do more start to finish videos, just creating from scratch.
Go for it. I think there are a few people doing drum and bass videos on the MPC but not many for house, techno.
Inspiring! Have a sub
Thanks for the sub!!

Yup!! what genre should we make next?
Is Fischer the dj who hosts a cooking show while performing
YUP!, lets be honest... all the music is made by Chris Lake, Fisher is the front man.
get rid of reverb on your voice
