Jack was talking about kids singing other words to "Peaceful Easy Feeling". We used to sing "Amazing Grace How Sweet the Sound" to the tune at Christian summer camps. I really love the song whatever words they use!
That is SUCH a fun story to the creation of this work of art. This song always gives me a peaceful, easy feeling....and I ‘ll enjoy imagining him on the cold linoleum floor next time I hear it. Thanks for this!
Clay Mills alongside Jack offering up some nice harmony. What's the name of the band you mentioned playing with back then. Nice job on the interview with Jack.
Great story - have loved the song since the 70's. i wonder what happened to the chick that invited you home? Mid 70's i was teaching campers how to ride and take care horses. Nights under the stars, good company, good music, good smoke, good food. Bunch of young college girls -- almost heaven. And fyi, Authentic weiner (pronounced with a V) schnitzle is a pounded out piece of veal, like a 'texas tenderloin' sandwich one might get at the fair. Pork is often substituted. Great with homemade German potato salad or spaetzle, and red cabbage!
hilarious story about his golden wiener. jack's song is a stone cold classic, i especially love the version buck owens cut. thanks for sharing this interview.
