I've had mine for about a year and I'm really happy with it. Haven't had any problems with it. I also got the smart chime and placed it in our back room where we can't hear the doorbell so it's been prefect for me. Thanks for the video.
@@tristanedwards1340 Yes you'll have to click on it and depending on the mobile device you have it will take a few seconds to come up, but it's better than others I've used in the past. You can also talk via the Mic.
@@tristanedwards1340 No, it doesn't do both of those things. It's true to say you get a notification but it is indiscernible from any other notification. If your phone's out of sight you will have no idea what the notification is for until you check your phone. I imagine you are wondering if it works like some other doorbells, for example, Ring. It is not the same experience at all. You simply get a notification banner on your screen and you have to click that in order to open the Protect app which then let's you see a live view. If you have any experience with how the likes of the Ring doorbell works this will disappoint you. Especially given that it's double the cost.
I noticed the video pop up on your Apple Watch (11:04) . Is that a default setting or do I need to add it in settings/notifications somewhere? And can you answer from your watch?? Thanks for the informative video!
Man I can’t wait to flip over to this from my Nest Doorbell Battery. It was great when I was in an apartment/condo, but now I have a house, I just gotta run some PoE out to the doorbell area and get this thing installed. Watching the notification here at 11:07 really reminded me of this. W/ Google, it has to activate (event only), then record, then upload to the cloud (shabby wifi on that side of the wall), process the video and make a thumbnail, then download it again over wifi to your phone (and then watch). At least with Unifi all that work happens locally, including the transcoding (at least if you’re watching the video in the app). Right now Nest is so slow for me. It’s so cool to have all those AI features without putting ALL of your video in the cloud. And… nonstop video of the perimeter of my house is going to be AWESOME. Right now I only get event recordings from my doorbell and they often don’t trigger for events I wish I could go back to or they start/stop at the wrong times. I remember having an old Gen1 nest that would record constantly and I remember when the app was actually half-way decent. It was still cloud but at least it was pretty functional.
Hey great video thanks. Wondering what you'd recommend if you have a roadside gate that id want to buzz someone in to get access to the front door/porch? I don't want to get 2 systems but the package sensor wouldnt be useful on the gate as they will enter and drop the package by the front door. Cheers
Great Video!! New to Ubiquiti. Running Cat 6 in my home. Would love to know more about the wifi doorbell if you have any experience with it. I will rip up some drywall to facilitate the POE Doorbell, but would prefer to avoid that if possible/practical. Blessings, Bruce

You’ll love it when you get all your equipment deployed. It’s nice not paying a subscription fee.

UniFi offers door access if that’s what you’re looking for.
Thanks for the feedback 🤝
So is there any way of having a internal post where you can see who calls at the door? or is it only through smartphone?

Did you end up ripping up the drywall? Have the same problem and am debating the wifi version
still no NFC or fingerprint support. I bought it just to have those features.
Same, it's really frustrating. I should've just bought the g4
That's unfortunate - you have to always consider the cardinal rule when buying tech. Never buy hardware today based on a promise of software tomorrow.
The video quality of this is unacceptable for the price
Is UniFi G4 Doorbell Pro integrable on voice assistant such Alexa ecosystem? For example to answer also by Amazon Echo.
It isn’t. It’s its own platform.
I would avoid anything Alexa. We already tracked enough as is. Alexa is like a track waitress racking up them tips from ya
You can just answer in the protect app. The comment above is correct, stay off of alexa
So if somebody breaks in and steals the hard drive you are done? No cloud storage?
Basically. No cloud storage.
You are able to add cloud backup to UniFi solution.
After recording on site it can transfer the video files to google drive or Microsoft OneDrive
@@darkgodmaster The problem with this is, a thief will target any home with a Unifi Camera, they know full well that the hard drive is inside.
@@darkgodmaster auto upload to google drive or manually?

Definitely. I’m about to add two more 😅
@@TomasVillegas are you selling?
how do i connect this to mains power, does it have a rechargeable battery
It’s powered by the power delivered to your doorbell.
Is it not Poe?
@@The_main_andrewThere’s a wifi and PoE version
