- Dollar Academy perform "The Calm before the Storm" in the FREESTYLE category at the Scottish Schools Pipe Band Championships 2014.
Freestyle offers the opportunity for schools to bring together the whole music department. Drums, guitars, basses, keyboards, violins, harps, bongos, anything ... all playing alongside the traditional pipes and drums. This was the first year we tried Freestyle at SSPBC and we saw some amazing examples of innovation and musicianship. We hope to see and hear even more fantastic performances next year. If your school wants to apply look at our website (link below)

We believe that every school NEEDS a pipe band. We believe a pipe band in a school can bring huge benefits to those pupils that take part and the whole population of the school. We are campaigning to have Highland Pipes and Drums taught in Scotland's schools on a par with other musical instruments.
Awesome job and well done all. I've been playing over 25 yrs and I really enjoyed that video. The sign hanging says it all "Every school should have a Pipe band"!!!
