Steve’s Hub Cap Game blows my mind. How this guy has acquired and retained all this info is stunning. I’m sure I’m not the only one but since Steve has been away I try to just leave my TV on while I’m away and play his videos. I do this in hopes that it helps keep his channel going and give the man a paycheck. This is probably the least any of us that appreciate Steve can do to help him through this tough time. Steve, know you are loved, admired and appreciated.
We had a '73 LTD with the hubcaps at 4:36 when I was a kid. The slots were very effective at catching little pieces of gravel that would rattle around inside the wheel cover as you drove. Dad finally got so tired of it he pulled them off and put a set of generic baby moons from the hardware store in their place.
I love hubcaps Steve, so thanks for making another hubcap video. I've been collecting them since I was a kid, but I try and find homes for the good ones I find nowadays. I usually just give them away and enjoy making owner's smile once in a while.
Finished my cigar, first cup of coffee, and hubcap happiness (junkyard crawl). The sun's coming up, time to go catch "Basszilla" out back in the pond before breakfast! Good morning from sw Georgia.
I remember from my childhood on Wilson Road in Georgia, seeing an old guy, whose name I do not remember, in bib overalls walking the length of the road, about five miles each way, collecting hubcaps. The old shed on his property was covered with hubcaps! "Thanks for the memories."
Yesss! When I saw the wheel covers and hub caps in the back of the bus video yesterday I thought, “I hope he does a hub cap game”. Thank you and Super Shane as always ~ Chuck
BIG fan of your videos "all of them" . They are well done - "with that said" it's my 1st time commenting. I usually watch you on the t.v. and it has no way to go in to, or let alone leave comments on it. I commend you and your video "team" for doing a great job. Me being 67 years old, I have seen most everything you talk about but sometimes you come up with a surprise or two. Love them and never miss them. I'm a ford guy but worked on the line at Mopar dealerships for 25 years before retiring last year. Hope your personal overhaul went well. Las Vegas Nevada checking in.
When I saw the previous video of the van/bus and saw the hubcaps in the back, I was hoping for the return of the hubcap game and here we are, Yay!!!! Katie knows best!!! I love all the different styles of hubcaps and wheel covers, in fact I am currently restoring a set of very rare wheel covers for a 1972 Lincoln Town Car. They have a dish style main body with die cast fins and a plastic center cap that is painted black from behind and are very heavy wheel covers. Thanks for bringing back the hubcap game!!!
My 58 Studebaker silver hawk has rare 1 year only 14” hubcaps, so I bought a set of dog dish caps for it to preserve the original full wheel covers. Plus I like the look of steelies with dog dishes
Hi 👋 Steve Thankyou for the Hubcap Class room Looking forward to #29 & onward..Hubcaps are all part of the year the car/ Truck History was built..Thankyou to your Camara man & your self Miss Katy( Miss Vanna White on your show The hub is right ⚪️⚪️)
I hope you were being sarcastic when you said that Korea was a conflict and not a war. My father was in the Army from 47-67 and was in the Korean War, the stories he told me proves it was in fact a war. Keep up the great videos Steve, you are a wealth of car knowledge.
My Grandma's '73 Impala had that exact wheelcover. She drove it til she started hitting stuff, then I drove it for damn near ten more years. Had 125,000 on the clock when I blew it up being a dumbass and assuming the squeal I heard was a failing alternator or AC compressor bearing rather than the water pump. By the time the idiot light came on, I had a mile or two til I could safely pull over and it got too hot and spun a rod bearing. It was a 400 small block.
hello sir the best site on the innerweb so knowledgeable just wondering if you have ever done a junkyard crawl on a full size 1965 mercury and/or if you know of a plastic or diecast model kit of that vehicle thanks look forward to more videos take care
Speaking of hub caps, when I did the body work on my 1977 GMC K-35 (for the 3rd time) a couple years ago, I also removed the 4" lift kit that I'd installed back in 1984. I still have the original 16.5" rims and their hub caps but, I switched to 16" because the tires are easier to find. I wasn't sure if the original "dog dish" caps would fit the 16" rims so, I called a buddy who is the parts guy at a nearby Buick, Cadillac, GMC dealer for any advice before climbing up into the hay loft to try them out. It turned out that they had a complete set of later caps, 2 with hub holes for the front and 2 without holes for the rear. After a short conversation with his boss, I picked up the whole set N.O.S., in their original boxes for $50! One of these days, I'll get up in the barn to try my other ones but, in my mind, $50 was a helluva deal!
I'm going to guess that Katie is a mixed breed woofer. Those make them the best (not that anything is wrong with purebred dogs) for health and temperament. I think anyone (like my late uncle) who fought in the Korean War would disagree. War, conflict, battle, all the same. As others said, Katie is looking for a "dog dish". I just sold three of those for a 1970s Chevrolet Nova to a guy who drove to me from Wooster, MA (he's a salesman and my area is his territory). They were part of a parts lot (NOS and used) I got from my friend when he cleaned out his garage before moving. Close, 2001 on the end of the Plymouth. The last Plymouth was a Neon assembled at Chrysler's Belvedere, IL plant in mid-2001. South Africa, not South America. LOL. I work with a Nigerian man who came to the US in 1982 and coordinates all of our business trips. At the beginning of the trip, he gives us our spending allowance for the trip. The big joke is "Why is he giving us money?". We always joke him, "Hey, this is funny money. You sure this is real?". I've said to him in jest, "Hey, this money has your likeness on it. You sure it's not a naira? (the currency of Nigeria). I think you just printed this, I don't know." That is usually met with a roaring laugh from him and the response, "Hey Chief (what he calls his friends), be careful, the ink hasn't dried yet......". I have an upcoming business trip and he'll always call me the day or two before saying, "Ok, my man. I will meet you at the airport. You ready to go on the road?" I jokingly call him the "Fresh Prince" because one day at the rental car counter he tossed me the keys and said, "Hey Chief, you drive, I'm going to chill in the back seat". I said, "What's this, driving Miss Daisy? Or driving the Fresh Prince of Nigeria around?" He tapped me on the shoulder and said, "C'mon man, I'm the senior citizen here. You young guys need to drive me around.". LOL.
Good morning Steve your hubcap game reminds me of something stupid I did during my teenage years. I went to the beach one day and I noticed some really cool looking moony hubcaps on a car. Well I thought they would look pretty cool on my car so I “borrowed “them. 😊Well one day as I was driving over a bridge I noticed a hubcap rolling in front of me. I muttered to myself who was the dumb ass who forgot to install them correctly. Well that dumb ass was me😄I guess God was giving me a lesson in how to conduct myself in life😊 From then on I have walked the straight and narrow path. Thanks for the memories 🙏
we love the hubcap game shee we love all of your content keep it coming i did mention the hubcap game yesterday when u found that yellow bus with the hubcaps in them man im a psychic lol
Just because that Korean thing was never declared a war, doesn't mean that it wasn't a war. Nearly 40,000 lost their lives in that debacle. My Uncle was on the front line as a radio operator, and saw a lot of the horror there.
Had '78 and '80 Grenadas. 80 white 2dr w/ 302. It had a shift kit and tuned before I got it as my first car in school. That thing would go. Great sleeper for the time.
Steve is correct though. Even though 36,000 were killed in Korea, it was never officially declared a "war" by Congress. My Uncle was on the front line in Korea as a radio operator. He tried to never show it, but it affected him immensely.
Listen to Katie... love her and the hubcap crawls! You CAN learn so much from the junkyard and from the occasional model kits you bring out!
Steve’s Hub Cap Game blows my mind. How this guy has acquired and retained all this info is stunning.

What a wonderful companion. Thank you, Steve and Katie.
Hub caps, old vehicles, we love it all.
Great to have you back Steve. God Bless

I really enjoy the hubcap game. I like trying to identify them before you do, and I am pretty good at it. Looking good Steve.
Yesss! When I saw the wheel covers and hub caps in the back of the bus video yesterday I thought, “I hope he does a hub cap game”. Thank you and Super Shane as always ~ Chuck

Mr. B. Here ! Morning Mags ! ☕️☕️🥩🍳👍👍 . Real American hub cap & wheel covers ! Not the garbage of today ! Have a good day Mags !
Morning
@@tomwesley7884 ☕️☕️👍😎
Love the hubcap game, please keep them coming.
I would love to sit around a couple of beers and talk shop with you. Just a wealth of knowledge. Thanks again Steve.
Hey Steve, I think a tour of Bernadston Auto Wrecking would be cool for a 100,000 subscriber special.
Something so simple , can be so informative. I for some strange reason enjoy it. Have a great day
Awwww!
Katie missed you!
There’s something “stately” about the understated dog dish hubcaps and trim rings on wider painted rims with “athletic” tires….
My 58 Studebaker silver hawk has rare 1 year only 14” hubcaps, so I bought a set of dog dish caps for it to preserve the original full wheel covers. Plus I like the look of steelies with dog dishes
Didn't know Studebaker used 14" wheels at that time. Interesting.

You bring so much info just from hubcaps. Icing on the cake to the history and details you share about all the other vehicles.
"There was no war folks" 😂I'm 44, Steve. I get it.
I remember when they started calling it a conflict. My Dad was there. He called it a war because it was a war. I’m with him. Just saying.😢
I love the dog ❤ she's a show stealer. ❤️ I just love her coming in and out of the shots.
We hacks those 202 comet gun caps on our 1964? Comet back in the late 1970s. Brings back good memories!
Hubcap Game on a Sunday. What a treat!
I hope you were being sarcastic when you said that Korea was a conflict and not a war. My father was in the Army from 47-67 and was in the Korean War, the stories he told me proves it was in fact a war.

My Fav hubcaps were the stock ones on my 66 Impala SS with the 3 point raised spinners in the center - nice design and sporty too !

I recently gave away a set of those. I didn't look close enough so don't know if they were 15 or 16 inch. They were in mint condition.
I humbly defer to Queen Katie and welcome the return of the hubcap game!
Love the hubcap game. Perfect to break up the full car descriptions once in awhile.
Love the Hub Cap Game. Yes 1973 Ford But there were no convertibles in 73. Ford stopped in 71.
Awesome! Hubcap game rides again!
More hubcaps - more Katie...!
Steve keep the hubcap game coming. We need to teach the younger generations about the past.
Katie the vicious junkyard dog! Always diligently guarding those junkyard treasures and protecting Steve and Shane from harm!😅
Glad you’re in rehab Steve. Anxiously awaiting your return.
Morning Steve...my automotive knowledge back in my pre teen days was guessing which car the caps we found on the road with my buddies. Good days.
Katie is right, always enjoy the Hubcap game, thumbs up, good morning from western Washington

While Opel Rekords were very common here back in the day before Kadetts took over and were all over the place, they're super rare today.
we love the hubcap game shee we love all of your content keep it coming i did mention the hubcap game yesterday when u found that yellow bus with the hubcaps in them man im a psychic lol
We're all pulling for you Steve. Hope to see you soon

I think Katie was looking for a "dog dish" cap.
Hubcaps or rusty old ghosts, either one is fine with me to wake me from my oh too short slumber. 😁 👍
Had '78 and '80 Grenadas. 80 white 2dr w/ 302. It had a shift kit and tuned before I got it as my first car in school. That thing would go. Great sleeper for the time.
2AM in Alaska still up. Why not buddies
8pm australia, perfect
10 p.m. in Foxton beach. New Zealand
Love the hub cap game sir keep em comin.
Katie really should have her own show!
No full size Ford convertibles after 1972 I believe, so I don't think that that 1973 wheel cover would've been on a convertible from the factory.
Hubcap game not my favorite segment but still interesting and a worthy change-up every once and awhile.
Steve, being an English Major we can forgive you for mistaking a tambourine for a drum. Pontiac Sunfire hubcap. Informative as always.
Get well soon! Steve, Katie misses you! Who’s a good dog! Katie girl!
Another door to the hubcap dimension 🙃
I wonder if the 1954 Chevrolet in Mexico used the same composite hub cap since the war didn't affect Mexico as much.
Yes! Katie is the Queen.
Some nice old hubcaps there
Katie finally got that opening scene. 👏
Opel Rekord's were sold in Mexico but I don't see them as a car people clamor after.
Thanks for the hubcap game
36,000 Americans got killed in Korea , my dad was there and is still suffering effects
Steve is correct though. Even though 36,000 were killed in Korea, it was never officially declared a "war" by Congress.
My Uncle was on the front line in Korea as a radio operator. He tried to never show it, but it affected him immensely.
The Pontiac hubcap lasted longer than the company. 😂
0:18 Ah yes... The Madona model. I believe she owned a couple of these.
We need more hubcap game ❤
everytime i see a hubcap my mind goes straight to the flat tire scene in A Christmas Story. probably because that happened to me too
LOVE THE HUBCAP GAME!!!
When Steve does his knock you know it’s stainless.

A war by any other name is just as hellish…
My grandfather fought in Korea, if he was still here today he'd tell you that it was indeed a war.
It's about time for another hubcap game
More hubcap game!! Wooooo!!

Love the hub cap game
She likes those dog dishes
