    Esthetician here: this is definitely more true than not, however, majority of the "black heads" you see on your nose are not actually impacted pores that have oxidized (black heads). They're sebaceous filaments, which help to spread oil onto the surface of the skin to protect from free radicals, outside particles, and also to lubricate the skin. If you pull these filaments out, not only are you damaging your skin by ripping the top few layers off, but the filaments will always come back as they are necessary for your skin's lubrication system. Best way to get rid of black heads? Go to an esthetician and have them carefully extract any clogged pores. A little DIY tip if you're short on cash, take a little spoonful of table sugar and add it to your face wash once a week. This will gently exfoliate chemically as well as physically, and will break down the black heads safely.

    Salicylic acid does not take out the small hairs that some people have there. It is only a solution for blackheads. Pore strips will pull out the small hairs also. The skin increases its natural oil production if the area is left dry, if you moisturize the area after using a pore strip, or even a cleanser, you can prevent the excess oil production.

      And the crazy thing is most people fall for it. If you make a comment about how almost everything in the skin care industry is a scam, people get mad at you for it. I'm sorry but 'exfoliating' is just peeling your skin barrier off so your skin can now get infections. Moisturizing is only helpful if your skin is dry as is or if you're using products which strip off your barrier (such as, you know, exfoliating,) scrubs just put microcuts on your skin which leads to irritation, inflammation, and infection... so on and so forth. Almost all of it makes problems WORSE, or is just straight up useless.
      Pore stripes also don't remove blackheads. They sometimes remove sebaceous filaments, but usually not even those. Usually all they do is frick up your skin barrier. Really a lot of things frick it up to be honest.

    • @BoopSnoot

I washed my face first with Dr. Wong soap or any facial cleanser will do (not something irritant), dried my face with a clean fresh towel, then applied the nose strip. After slowly ripping it off, I waited for a few moments before applying a vitamin C moisturizer. It's better to use a natural ingredient moisturizer to not irritate the skin. Now, blackheads are no longer my problem. I just do my facial routine daily to keep dirt away and keep my face clean 😊

    For a much older example of this loop, back in the 16th century there was a thing called Venetian ceruse, a skin whitener that royalty and nobility would use to hide skin blemishes, and make themselves appear paler. The only problem was the stuff was made from white lead, which among all the other issues you can imagine smearing lead paint on your face would cause, also causes skin damage. The more you used it to cover blemishes, the more blemishes it would cause, until eventually some people died of lead poisoning from overuse.

    Which is why it’s important to moisturiser skin with a protective skin oil which replaces your skin oil with artificial skin oil but serves the exact same purpose to prevent this from happening and be perfectly honest. These sort of products need to be sold with each other.

    • @kacywatson6314
      @kacywatson6314 Місяць тому +20

      @Pootinki well no they actually makes perfectly sense. It makes perfectly good sense because if you’re using safe for example of foundation for make up that was purely cosmetic that can also dehydrate your skin or even if you live in a dry place your skin can dehydrate even if you live in a temperate climate when are your skin can get really dry it’s bizarre. Yes you live in a temperate climate. It’s winter. There is snow and ice everywhere it dries out your skin, it could even be a diet thing so even if your skin is really really dry it’s a good idea to put on some moisturiser. Doesn’t need to be a lot just a little bit and it’s enough to keep your skin nice and moisturised while you’re waiting for your skin to heal and recover and build it’s not moisturising oils back up. You only need to use moisturiser like once a month if that maybe assuming that you don’t wear make up I wear lots of make up and I moisturise my face every single time I put make-up on, I use a moisturiser cream to act as a barrier between my skin underneath my make upand the chemistry of my make up protect my skin.
      It has nothing to do with capitalism because even if this wasn’t the case capitalism would always find a way to make money so even if we did find the exact opposite of beauty standards to be true where dry skin was considered to be beautiful or healthy capitalism would sell products to dry out your skin Without being cosmetic skin moisturiser is more of a medical product rather than a beauty product.
      And that’s proven down to the fact that yes medical grade skin moisturiser is a thing if you still don’t believe me talk to you your dermatologist your skin doctor and will tell you to it’s how important skin moisturisation actually really is
      If your skin is just oily, then it’s not properly moisturised or looked after it’s desperate trying to get as much oil and nutrients over the top of it as much as it can protect itself from environment. Remember we live in towns cities we are surrounded by a concrete jungle , we are no longer in the environment that we used to be. We no longer in the forest in the mountains and besides in nature there is actually certain kind of magically the other natural materials that you can use as a form to moisturise your skin wet primitive people use all the time in fact if you ever go to Africa or even New Zealand or anywhere that has primitive Hunter society is there warm? Make up also back up as a moisturiser some sort of protective barrier from the harsh environment and is good for their skin in many different ways, they don’t waste precious water washing off they keep their Warm make up on and they just rub it in and get all the benefits from it.
      And no capitalism is not this evil force that evil people do capitalism put an end to slavery because capitalism basically said you that make money now have to pay for the goods and services that you do accompany pays you for the service of your time of doing work for them, you are selling your time to accompany What’s the difference between employment and slavery? Employment is paid and it is a job that you actively see out to do to contribute to a society slavery is basically the same thing but it’s not something that you chose to do. It’s not something that you see out to do and it’s not something that you are paid for And socialism slavery where everything that you get is everything you need to do your work but you get nothing more capitalism is the reason why you even have a smart phone or a computer that you used to read my comment and type your own and even read this one because under communism or socialism would have not been able to be allowed to do that Because the only possessions that you would have would be what are required for your work and nothing more

    Just an fyi: a lot of people think they have blackheads but they are really sebaceous filaments. Use a sulphur based cleanser and let it sit on the skin for 2-3 minutes. It will dissolve the stuff clogging up your pores and give you that smooth skin u want. Also can help acne and blackheads.
