- Join Miss GoElectric for her first review of a three-wheeled electric trike. Rad Power Bikes is one of the largest eBike companies in the USA and they've entered a surprisingly large segment with the RadTrike. One of Rad's advantages is a large ecosystem of accessories and this review features many of those as well. Get a close look at the trailer, locking storage boxes, and optional baskets, too!

Thanks for the overview on the RadTrike. I can't believe it doesn't have a built-in speedometer and odometer in the display. I always thought there were basic features you would want with any e-bike. I'm also not a fan of front wheel drive on trikes due to the traction issues. Having said that I thought you did a great job highlighting the pluses and minuses on this product. I really like the rear coaster brake and the fact that this bike is made by a major e-bike company. I would hope Rad Power at least addresses the display issues for this model. Thanks again!
Thank you for sharing the elements you found most valuable. The price of this trike has dropped dramatically since we published the review, but competitors have brought compelling alternatives to the marketplace. We are interested to see what becomes available this spring. -Producer Tim

We just got an Aventon Abound, and I was joking we should hook our gorilla cart up to it! Then I saw your thumbnail and was like "here we go!"
There you have it! eBikes are getting incredibly helpful with thoughtful accessories and so many form factors.
We are also big fans of Aventon and we hope you'll subscribe to our main channel ua-cam.com/users/missgoelectric where we will be uploading footage from last weekend's GoElectric Group Ride Powered by Aventon in Sarasota, Florida. -Producer Tim

I wish they made trikes that looked like the retro mopeds like they do with ebikes! But I gues If I could afford to get one, I could afford to make some panels to snap on it too...
More variety is always welcomed. Thanks for commenting. -Producer Tim
Will the rad tri pull that trailer up hill and range with trailer
The trailer weighs very little. When empty, there is a negligible affect on range. Speed, rider weight and shape wind, terrain, ambient temperature, and acceleration behavior greatly affect range. We advise cutting advertised figures in half when assessing determining a reliable low end range figure.
I wish I could see you put your pup in its pet carrier! I'm surprised that it doesn't have suspension, given it load capacity. What intrigues me is that the front and rear halves of the frame are simply bolted together. I like that the screen is so easy to see, but wish it displayed your speed as well as the power level. I've nver been a big fan of front hub motors, prefer back, but… what I like most of all is mid-drive.
Great observations. Thank you for watching and commenting the very first video on the new Ride Reviews channel :)

The benefit I see with the front hub is that you can have AWD if you pedal and twist the throttle at the same time .
I was originally interested in the Segway GT1 but then I saw the capability for longer range on some E bikes.
Quick release components are going to make the bike / trike easier to steal from. Or asshats will take off the quick release components to toss the someplace you can't retrieve them from.
A cable lock would work if somebody were concerned about bike trailer thieves. -Producer Tim
yehhh ,..uck yes
Trikes are pretty fun
Nice to see that they dropped the price to $1299 after getting their hineys torched by the Lectric Trike. They're $1499. hydraulic 180mm disc brakes front and rear, rear wheel drive WITH differential, 14 Amp battery mounted behind the seat post out of the way, folds in half, comes assembled, rear and front racks, brake lights. larger tires, and on and on. Rad's still way overpriced.
We appreciate great value and love to see prices come down.
