I’m 55 now and haven’t bumped Ed since 1990 but I can still name his songs and rap the lyrics to his songs even 35 years later… I really think that rap should of STAYED in NY because the 5% Lessons and knowledge of self made them act respectable & love their fellow man.Diffrent rap styles made rap…

From the production, the lyrics, the flow, the performance, the mastering & the fact that its a 15 yr old kid with more confidence in his vocal then grown men that had been doing it for years. I hate when people in the industry don’t know their history: Irv Gotti produced “Can I Live” for Jay Z using the Isaac Hayes sample. He didn’t really change much from the OG song.

Now Special Ed once his publishing reverts back to him, he can now as the Sole owner and publisher of his music he can now start licensing out his music for commercial, movies etc., and he has some classics, so his catalog is valuable.... That's right get your money Special Ed.

Went to school listening to "I'm the Magnificent" and nobody said a word to me. I can listen to him speak for hours. One of the poignant interviews in DC history. I got it made was a thenical masterpiece on the level Nas' debut. He was just to far ahead of his time. Where Nas, Az, Biggie, usher in a whole wave of rappers doing muti syllable verses with rhymes across the bar line.
As far as Howie T goes, most people didnt realize he was a producer. He was thought of as Chubb Rock and Roxannes DJ. The only comperable guy was Marley Marl. Paul C or Rick Ruben weren't really known.
