In the mix, I add a tablespoon of mushroom powder which gives the steaks a richer taste plus a ground up beet to give the "steak" a pinkish colour. Tried these in the oven but found them dry so I steam them for about 30 minutes instead. After cooling, I freeze them individually and when I want a "steak" I simply fry it (unbreaded) with some onions and worcestershire sauce - Yummm
This is a favorite that we make for church potluck with some Country Cashew Gravy. I like mine a bit more chewy so we leave them in the oven a bit longer on each side. Yummy!!
Mark's terrific. He's come to my Church twice, and I have one of his cookbooks. Everything I've made so far has been super-easy, super-economical, and super-delicious.
I used 375 F. Also, I ended up baking the patties rather than pan-frying them, at the same temp. Took a long time to bake, over a half hour (the center was a bit rubbery). I ended up turning the oven off and just letting them "dry out" in the oven. That improved the rubbery texture in the center (and made the outside quite crispy -- might cover with foil next time). Flavor was great. No more Morning Star Chik Patties for me!
I guarantee people do know it's not chicken fried steak but are too polite so say anything. I'm pretty sure they will figure it out when they bite into it and find that there is no steak in it.

I’m new to this, so I don’t like guessing. What temperature do you have the oven set?
vegan chicken seasoning would be a good addition
What Oven Temperature to bake?
Are these #FLOUR patties? Never seen this before. I wonder how it tastes.

This looks great! Which video of yours has the breading station? I looked through your UA-cam channel and couldn't pinpoint the right video for this.

Teri Washbear it's called "breaking intelligence." Hope this helps.
When preparing lettuce with the hot water and ice, before placing in baggies, does the lettuce have to be dry?
Where do we find the flour and other products
I'm not a vegetarian. I like my meat, but I like good tasting food. This looks, and sounds to me like something I will have to try. Thanx.
Many meat eaters do meatless Monday.
at what temperature should these be baked?

Can you use "brown rice flour" or does it have to be just "rice flour"?
Would you freeze after breaking or frying?
I baked rather than fried mine, but found they froze just fine after baking.
Hmm. I think I would freeze after baking and fry after thawing.
good thing i'm allergic to peanut butter

Why don't you try it and then give us a report on it
This recipe was not good. Try again chef... the best way to make seitan is simmering in broth.
He wasn't making seitan
