  • Overnighter with the kayak on the Gulf of Bothnia, northern Sweden. Hilleberg Allak on the rocks. With the sun up for almost the whole night, the tent gets hot and makes it hard to sleep in the morning.

    Curiously, yesterday I was thinking something similar: how your videos feel familiar, almost repetitive but there is always a unique moment that makes each of them beautiful. And so is life, never the same, always changing. Thank you again, Erik.

    Hey Erik, don't sweat the repeats, every time you go to that rock mother nature sings a different song and tells a different story, and that my friend never gets old.

    I'm even saying "Holy Moment" out loud at work during coffee break, funny the influence people have on me in my environment.

    "...the same movie over and over again..." but Eric - landscapes are like the a lover - no matter how often you kiss your way across the same skin/land you discover it new and fresh each time. Just as you enjoy revisiting places that give that "I am a little bit at home here" feeling - so we enjoy sharing that same feeling vicariously. My camping maps have certain places circled because they DESERVE being visited more than once..... Ah! Yes, waking up in a tent turned into oven BUT still feeling sleepy and tired, trying to lay there resting but everything is sticky and clings to your body and eventually you kinda get up out of simple anger at the discomfort spoiling your restful. I remember it well. I don't think I ever thought of THAT experience as "Kinda nice."

    Fabulous spot! Loved the scenery and with a picnic table you don't have to spend much time bushcrafting! ;-)

    the little pot ,
    a trusty companion, reappears.
    always an enjoyable few minute glimpse of another part of this blue sphere
    wind
    sun
    water
    insects
    blue skies
    clarity
    while
    perched on a rock
    thumbs up indeed...

    The movie makes itself (allthough it still is a lot of work to turn out the video), everything keeps changing all the time so it is always new. The scenery is beautiful, so it doesn't get boring or anything. I am always glad to see so much peace and quiet. If you want some change, you could go to sites you haven't been before..

    Hi Erik,
    Your films have inspired me to get over to Sweden, I am planning my first packrafting trip at the end of August, I was going to go either north or south from Gothenburg through the maze of islands, would you recommend this or would the gulf of Bothnia near Lulea be nicer?

    What prevents the tent from blowing away when you are not in it? Or perhaps ut was attached in some way that I couldn't see? Just curious...

    Im going to start kayaking also this summer, really looking forward to it. We have lots of islands also here in Helsinki.. Ive been thinking of getting the Hilleberg Allak for all season tent, have you been happy with it?

    • @erik_normark
      @erik_normark  6 років тому +1

      You have the perfect place for kayaking there in Helsinki! You will love it. The Allak is pure luxury, especially for one person. I think if you are tall you might find it a little short, but for my 170cm it's perfect. Atb

    • @samiandersson1223
      @samiandersson1223 6 років тому +1

      Im 179cm, should be fine or me also. :) And the tent has performed well also in winter camping? I see from your videos that you have been using it in winter quite alot. :) Great camping videos by the way, you have a really good touch of doing them. :) Looking forward to see more in the future. :)

    • @samiandersson1223
      @samiandersson1223 6 років тому +1

      Oh and im familiar with Hilleberg, since ive been using Akto as a solo tent for few years now. Its just little small for wintercamping, with more stuff etc. Great tent otherwise! And the thing that i want from my next tent, is that it has to be freestanding. And little bit more room and comfort, hehe.

    Lovely spot to camp, there on that flat rock. Is that the Hilleberg Staika? Beautiful. I also do camp and kayak, and trust on my Hilleberg Unna, very happy with it. I saw your video more than once, really like it. Best regards from Spain.

    I just noticed that your camp site looks very much like our 'North Shore' in Minnesota, United States. The water is Lake Superior where many of you past countrymen came to find work in the later 1800's & early 1900's.

    • @erik_normark
      @erik_normark  7 років тому +3

      That's interesting. Maybe they went to areas in the US that reminded them of their old homeland. I have seen pictures from there and it is alike.

    • @psfphotography

      I am pretty sure that is what they did - Minnesota has a lot of Finn's, Norwegians, Swedes and others from Scandinavian decent.

    Hej! Tack för en fin naturfilm! Det är så rofyllt med vågbrus och kanot verkar vara ett perfekt sätt att njuta utan att störa eller bli störd. Det känns som att det gick ganska snabbt när du paddlade. Händer det aldrig att du välter med kanoten? Hoppas du hinner göra några fler filmer i sommar! // Johan

    • @erik_normark
      @erik_normark  7 років тому +1

      Tack Johan! Paddling är verkligen rogivande. Jag har faktiskt aldrig vält. Kajaken är stabil, och det gäller bara att ta det lugnt. Det blir tid för fler filmer framöver. Erik

    Hej Erik! Mycket fina filmer du skapar! Härliga och varierande turer.
    Undrar om du kan säga/skriva några ord om ditt Hilleberg Allak. Sett du använder det året runt. Fördelar/nackdelar?
    Funderar på ett själv men hänger på "gärsgårn". :)
    Tack för genuina filmer!
    /Ludvig

    • @erik_normark
      @erik_normark  7 років тому +3

      Tack för det Ludvig! Om jag bara skulle ha ett tält så blir det Allak. Är man ensam så är det tungt om man ska vandra långt, men för kanoting, pulka på vintern och kortare vandringar så är det rena lyxen. Gäller det huvudsakligen längre ensamvandringar så skulle jag kika på lillebror Suolo. Man blir snabbt beroende av ett självstagande tält, mycket praktiskt. Några nackdelar kan jag inte komma på. Gråten över priset försvinner snabbt när man använder tältet. Lycka till! Erik
