What an adventure! That wind sounded like a real challenge, but those views totally made it worth it. What a stunning hike, it's really beautiful! Thanks for sharing and have a great day 😊
Wind and rain, but a very nice video. I didn't realize that the video was fromthis year until I saw my tent next to yours in Basstavagge. The next night, I saw the northern lights at Rinim/Sitojaure. Happy to see that you made it safely home. So did I. Your fellow hiker at 9:18...
Oh hey, nice to hear from you! Good to know that you got to Rinim safely ... the weather got much better over the next day after Basstavagge and the northern lights were a nice bonus!
Dude, I really love your videos and recommend them to others whereever I can! One small idea/request for your next vids: Have you already considered adding some more video snippets without music? To me, having the realistic sounds of the nature in hiking videos adds even more immersion! Cheers from Germany!
Thanks for your kind words! Some people have asked for the same thing 😂 Personally I think that music brings a lot of impact into videos. But I always mix the ambient sounds first before adding music, so I could just drop the soundtrack out easily. Maybe I will make a longer ambient video some day, with just nature sounds and landscapes. (I wish that UA-cam would allow me to put the music on a separate track so you could just turn it off if you prefer it...)
Great video, thankyou. I went on a similar trail this summer Sourva-skarja-ahkka. As soon as I'm back I'm always longing to go back, your video helped me revive those feelings. Until next year 😊
The wheather looked pretty bad in the beginning. 😂 But then a beautiful and magical mountain journey it was! Congrats for the enthusiasm, and thanks for sharing it! 😊
Hallo! Diese phantastische menschenleere Landschaft ist einfach nur traumhaft. Da kann man so richtig gut abschalten. Danke fürs Video und weiter so! 👍🙋♂💪
Hi, really high-quality video material and nicely cut with great background music. Do you have a gear list somewhere that you would recommend for weather like this in Sarek and what were the temperatures during the night?
Hi, I have a category "Gear" in my main blog: exposedpaths.exposure.co/categories/gear . There's an older but still mostly valid pack list for summer/autumn here: pack.carryless.net/0SCW4
@@exposedpaths Oh cool, thanks for the quick reply, these gear discussions are super helpful! I'm still torn between trail runners and boots... because I had tendonitis issues around my ankle. But it seems almost everyone who goes into Sarek regularly gravitates towards trail runners with good stability because of the drying.
@@kollidontagasi My advice is to do a test hike with trail runners preferably in cold wet weather 😂 And consider using some sort of water barrier or protective cream for your feet every night and preferably even beforehand. I had some achilles insertion issues but I don't really think that they would have been better with boots either. Mind you, a lot of people I have met in Sarek have used heavy boots. It's just ultralight internet bubble that looks like everyone is hiking in sneakers 😂. In some terrain I have missed having rugged boots that I can just jam between rocks, but it's always a compromise.
@@exposedpaths yeah, the bubble is definitely a thing :) I'm thinking about the La Sportiva Ultra Raptor II Mid GTX, it's inspired by a trail runner but offers the ankle support I'm looking for... heavy boots are definitely not what I want.
@@kollidontagasiI used to hike a lot in Salomon Quest mid boots, but got tired with gtx membrane always leaking within 1-2 years, or boots taking in water and keeping it in forever. Fine boots otherwise,
Oli kyllä taas ihan huippu video! Tykkään juuri tällaisista videoista joissa upea audio-visuaalisuus kertoo sen oleellisen ilman että tubettajan naama täyttää kuvaruudun höpetyksineen. Samasta syystä tykkään esim. Swedwoodsin retkeilyvideoista. Toive kyllä olisi että tekisit vielä pidempiä videoita. Onko telttasi Durstonin?
Kiitos! Jostain syystä viikon vaelluksista tulee melkein minuutin tarkkuudella tällainen 16 minuutin video, keleistä ja näköaloista huolimatta 😂 olen kyllä ajatellut joskus pidempiä versioita ja hitaampia leikkauksia, mut se tarvitsee sitten ottaa huomioon jo kuvatessa. Teltta on joo Durston Xmid gen 2. Tykkään kovasti vaikkei se ihan nappivalinta ollut tällaiseen tuuleen 😁
hi, appreciate your videos. Could you explain what type of “skirt” you are using, assume it’s forrain/windprotection and why you are using it? Also what type of footwear are you using for crossing the streams? /Thanks Per
Hi, the skirt is for rain protection. Its SilNylon, very light and simple, made by www.northernlite.fi . It's easier to put on and ventilates better than rain pants. I do not have separate stream crossing shoes, I just wear my trail running shoes. I use light gaiters to keep most of the river sand from filling my shoes.
Great video. I'm looking forward to reading the blog post of this trip. Would you consider using your tent with just the fly, no inner, on a trip like this? Or would too much rain be blown in under the bottom of the fly?
Thank you! Rain does not get in the tent but wind does a bit, and mesh inner helps a bit. Solid inner would help a lot more but I do not have it. Also it keeps my sleeping quilt from touching the condensation on the walls, or the ground. But you could definitely use just the fly if you are mindful of the condensation (and there are no insects...there were a few still this late in August).

Absolutely stunning scenery, beautiful, very rustic toilet near the end of the video 🙂, thanks for sharing this 👍
Many thanks 🙏
(Did not use the toilet though.)

@exposedpaths struggled quiet a bit 😅. Thought going over 950 would help....but it was hopeless. But as they say 'without adversity, it ain't sarek'
