    The TearCare Device, made by sight sciences (see their website here: sightsciences.com/us/products...) is a new technology that may help with the symptoms of dry eye. It has already undergone testing and is already approved. Our first three patients that have undergone the treatment have done very well.
    Space is limited, but we would love to help treat you Dry Eye with this new study. If you've had dry eye in the past at visits with us, or if you're experiencing it now, please do not hesitate to reach out to our office to hear more about the treatment. We will have the device for a couple of months.
    There is a fee for the treatment that is greatly reduced from full cost since you will be participating in the study. Each office visit for the study will be billable to your insurance. Please call us if you are interested and we can quote the cost of the full treatment for you.

    I just had this treatment at my doctors office. I’ve had dry eyes for years now being retired IT analyst on the computer for over 8 hours a day for 30 years. I would encourage anyone to get this done, it has taken my dryness away completely. There is no pain and doesn’t take long. Now, afterwards I’m using my own heating pad and eye drops and it’s maintained. Blinking exercises are very important too.

      This tearcare device is an in-office treatment that lasts 15 minutes. At home, warm compresses should be done for at least 10 minutes, with 15 being optimal.

    I may be interested in doing this! Does the eyelids get a burn or redness from this procedure?

    • @EyeSchoolwithDrD
      @EyeSchoolwithDrD  3 роки тому +2

      Not a burn but they do get red! It’s the heat level of a very warm bath so some skin redness does occur!

      Very true, "MADE" or Mask Associated Dry Eye is real and affecting many people. Make sure to follow the 20-20-20 rule, remind yourself to blink, use artificial tears while at the computer. I made a vid about tips for virtual learning/work from home so make sure to check that one out as it sounds super relevant for you!

    Is this procedure covered by insurance? If not, what is the cost per treatment?

    • @EyeSchoolwithDrD
      @EyeSchoolwithDrD  3 роки тому +1

      It is out of pocket at this time but it may be a billable procedure in the near future for insurances. I believe the price varies between about $400-$800 per treatment depending on where you live.

    You may wish to stage your video presentations in a more professional part of your office instead of the fame bar. This will create a more accurate perception of what an OD actually does. An eye doctor, not an "eye glass" doctor

      omg how rude r u, its better to do the vid in a more relaxed manner which reassures and helps people than your uptight victorian manner.
