      INCREDIBLY informative and to the point. Love the spontaneous "Mac Reveal". How on earth did you do that? ; ) I used to find little eye shaped "shot glasses" in old houses, they were real antiques. Some are colored glass and very ornate. I was told they are "eye cups", so I guess I was half right: shot glasses for the eyes. Clearly, there was a need for such things way-back-when. I guess I won't be running to Walmart or ordering my Bleph-Ex or AB-Max (sp?) from Amazon... My doctor's methods are as antiquated as those eye cups, thanks a ton for the education! Liked and subbed. A+, Dr.!

    I don’t even have dry eye and I watched the whole video lol. Didn’t know about the biofilms. I had a misguided assumption that biofilms really only adhere and become a problem on hard surfaces (like teeth), so this is great to learn. Now I have a bit of a better idea about when I should go see my eye doc about something. Thanks

    Thank you for not dumbing down the information! As someone who is knowledgeable in medical terms, I found this video extremely helpful. I have extremely dry eyes at night. Are you a contact wearer by any chance? If so, you might have GPC. I had it half a year ago. Took months to diagnose to which point it was quite severe. It’s usually fairly easy to clear up, but unfortunately my case was so severe that I developed an allergic reaction to my contacts. 😩

    • @natemac8473
      @natemac8473 2 роки тому +3

      @@sarahhudak1200 I do not wear contacts but I think I found the source of my problem. I spend a lot of time on computer screens and so I got some blue light blocking glasses. Surprisingly, it has actually helped a lot. I think it's due to not straining my eyes as much because if I don't wear them I can feel it again. Blue light scatters more so your eyes strain to compensate. Also, I have been using muro-128 at night which helps too. Still not 100% but a lot better than it was.

      A Vaporizer may help; they throw warm mist into the air to keep humidity in and rid of dry air. You could get a humidifier (cold mist) but if humidifiers are not clean often and properly, they breed bacteria and that is not healthy.

    I had dry eyes for ~13 years. Fixed on my own with, I kid you not, horse dewormer.
    When ivermectin (used for pet & human scabies amongst other uses) got attention, and I read about it before using it for the ‘rona, I concluded there was no downside to trying the horse paste along my eyelashes to try and kill the bacteria. I had previously tried some expensive Rx drops to no avail.
    Used the Durvet product in the read/yellow/white/green box. Put a tiny dab on my finger and rubbed it along by eyelashes with my eyes closed. Gooey stuff like Vaseline.
    I did this on Night 1, and again on Night 3. In a few days I no longer had dry 👀! Seriously!
    A few months later I started to get dry eye again. Repeated same process. Have not had dry 👀 come back yet!
    Thank you IVM!

      U r correct. Dr. Oz said many doctors aren’t prescribing what actually works so that u continue to pay the medical industry. I know the dewormers are for internal use for horses, but I never heard u can actually put it on ur eyes. Ur sure it won’t harm the eye. Johnson’s baby shampoo works too. Use it daily when the demodex mites r low in numbers. The medical field only makes money if ur sick. So, im glad u found a way, and r telling others, like I do. We all have demodex mites from head to toe, but if ur immune get low from lack of sleep or stress, these mites flourish. Tell me if u know applying on ur eyelashes is safe? Clearly it must be. 🙏👏👏

    • @drumsnbass
      @drumsnbass Рік тому +1

      @@LGAussie I can’t say as I actually applied it to my eyeballs, but I know some got on them. Why did I originally consider doing this? Because the primary use of this drug in Africa is to prevent “river blindness”. Hence that tells me it is obviously making it into the eyes (beyond the bloodstream). And as it’s used to kill things like scabies, I figured the worst that would happen is nothing. So no, I don’t encourage anyone to apply this to their eyeballs. I used it on the last line and not all that much. And all I was was a n=1 subject (who read the MSDS as well as read up on the drug itself). Can’t say it will work for anyone else.

    Hi, thank you so much for all of this information. I recently searched for a doctor to perform blephex on me and 3 days after I got a horrible eye infection and haven't been the same since. I had a follow up appointment and they said my bleph was still mild to moderate which was what I had before the tx. I venture to say my blepharitis feels worse and way less managable than before I had the treatment. Have you heard of this happening before? I am going to try zocular next but also concerned that something else could be going on. Thanks again for your channel and info, no one has mentioned anything to me other than compresses and ocusoft so I truly appreciate!

    I have this . I used to have this many years ago and it was awful always on my right eye . Then went away for a long time . I do have Rosecha . But I use metro gel . Which helps . Then all of a sudden it came back last week . I have been under stress .I have not changed my skin routine at all . My right eye was red itchy .. my eye lashes were irritated. Used a compress. Cold compress . Should I use a warm compress ? To get rid of the red eye ? I haven’t used a eye drop because I do not know what to use . I made a doctors appointment but I can’t see her virtually until next week .and because of Covid . I do not want to go into a walk in clinic . Why am I getting this again ? I also have rosacea. I am currently treating the blepharitis and rosacea. Never use eye drops you find at a pharmacy for “redness in eyes” it doesn’t work. Try cleaning your eyelids with an eyelid scrub and use warm compresses(not too hot). I also use systane hydration vials for dry eyes. I believe thera tears is the cheaper option.

      Yes! Mine also started with stringy mucus but now my entire upper eyelid peels. Like I’ll rub it with my finger to rub the string snd my entire eyelid will peel a layer just rolls along with my finger. It’s like a thin oily skin. Is it over production of the oil or is it really skin? I’ve been using drops and a thick gel,drop bc at first I thought it was just dry eyes giving me that gritty irritated feeling but now the peeling is a whole new issue. And once it starts I can’t stop either peeling it myself or rubbing my eye bc it’s so irritating if it’s not all gone. It’s usually worse at night before bed, and my eye will swell and I’ll wake up with it crusted shut or goopy. And it’s so weird I’ll be totally fine, then 1 eye will bother me for 1-2 days, then thst eye is fine, then the other eye is a pain for 1-2 days then I’m back to normal until next time which can be a few days to a week or longer. It’s bizarre.

    All I can say is, keep your eyelashes clean. If your eyelids are inflamed, red, irritated do NOT use hot/warm compress. Use cold compress till your swelling/irritation dramatically reduces then introduce warm compress. The obvious, don't touch your eyes with dirty hands, wash or use gloves. To wash your eyelashes use watered down baby shampoo I do mine once in the morning and again at night and avoid touching your face in general. Mine wasn't very serious just towards the end of my eyelid, but mine is starting to look a lot better by using ice, cleaning and avoid touching face/eyes.
