I was indoctrinated at a young age into a religious organization that rejected any ideas that contradicted it. Just know there are groups out there that can help break the spell. I truly hope one day you can find the courage and have enough support to face that inevitable realization before its too late 😢
I'm glad you've exposed yourself. I will never support you or your channel. The lesson of the Soulsborne games is that nothing is eternal, and everyone can choose to be free. People have the right to choose not to be sheep sheparded to the slaughter.
A lot of Japanese video games and manga are littered with esoteric occultism from Kabbalah to Zoroastrianism and from many other esoteric sources. All you have to do is watch evangelion to see that kind of thing on full demonstration. Of course, berserk has it, and all of the souls games as well as Elden Ring are replete with esoteric occultism. So you need to keep that in mind when you dip yourself into the lore of these games.
I recently found on UA-cam the entire speed racer cartoon series I enjoyed so much as a young boy. I was shocked now at 57 years old at all the demonic symbolism. The g on speed racers shirt along with his number 5 car. At the end of every show there's a clip of spridal riding in an airborne vehicle and on top of it is a device that's shooting out frequencies plus a whole lot of other demonic stuff.
I am not a Dark Souls expert, but I always thought that the whole point of the series was that no occult, or false god, or transcendence was anything but a trap of evil
That's pretty much true Or to better phrase it It's almost like the message in every game is power hungry tyrants and playing with science is evil and has to be stopped by someone And all the tyrants who are little g gods , get slain by some normal(ish) guy who is suppose to bring good back into the world in every game(if you choose that based on your ending options )

I see it that way as well. The game presents a twisted form of Christianity and then critiques it. It’s reverent with the culture it draws from, and encourages players to take a serious look at the history being drawn on. Taken a serious look at historical truth is a path to Christ. Video games reach many who do not take much time to consider serious things.
The same people who deny devil worship and witchcraft in video games are the same mfs who deny devil worship and witchcraft in Hollywood and the music industry. Blind, willfully ignorant, and hard-headed. Respect for making this video, don't listen to the haters
Excellent video Eredin, as a brother in Christ I stand with you on you're message about these games. Its something that needs to be said and you said it well.
Everything that you do, leaves an imprint on the subconscious. I like gaming too, but same like with a lot of other things, it affects the mind in many ways. It is important to acknowledge it can have an influence.
@@timoftecatalin8357 agreed and one of the most important things these games have left imprinted upon me and many others is the idea that perseverance pays off and mastery holds great rewards internally and externally.
Agreed, and I don't think the messages are inherently bad either. The canon endings of the Dark Souls games all point to duty and self-sacrifice as the ultimate service to your fellow man. The default ending of Elden Ring also symbolizes restoration and the return of mankind to the natural order... and we don't even have to think about it that hard. They are, after all, just games
@Paul_W_222 the greatest trick that satan has ever pulled is convincing the world he doesnt exist. Whether we like it or not, the occult is intertwined in EVERYTHING. You may think its one or two but nope everything. All forms of art contains occultic things. While you say its just a game, just ensure what you sre consuming you absolutely understand. You never know when you are engaging in witchcraft and the like. My eyes were really open to this thanks to the LORD. These things really affect the way we think and these things really will affect the way we will accept when satan's chosen one comes to power. Please do your research and dont just chalk it up to be "just a game" know where to see the signs. God's people perish for lack of knowledge.
An interesting take, but no amount of playing souls games will sever my ties with God, for each time my caveman character clubs the false gods and the heretics that worship them I do it righteously and in God's name.
@@ChewyTheGimp Omg, I was struggling so hard with this man’s take on these games, but after reading this comment, I couldn’t agree anymore with what you said. I believe that’s what these games are all about, that and trial and error. Wouldn’t be an RPG without your own interpretation of events and lore. Thank you so much for this.✨
If you have an actual relationship with God, then you should realize that anything not glorifying Christ or done for Christ is of this world. Not that you are going to Hell necessarily for playing Souls games, but you have to recognize the occult symbolism is going to subliminally affect those not rooted in Christ, for they have no discernment. I mean the mocking on this video proves Eredin's point about these games affect on people.
Exactly man. There is a difference between praising false idols vs just playing a game. If you were idolizing this game and believing it was a god then that's a sin
Thank you for making this, brother, and for using your pre-existing platform to try to save souls, as an act of faith. I had literally just been contemplating whether or not I should continue playing elden ring as a Christian, due to a gut feeling and red flags within the game itself, when I saw the thumbnail for this video out of the corner of my eye, less than an hour after you had posted it, on a tv, signed into somebody else's youtube account; I didn't know who you were , nor had I watched any of your videos. Unable and unwilling to ignore the timing, I watched it and was ultimately convicted by what the Holy Spirit had already been trying to tell me, but undeniably used you, your mind, your time, your research, and your voice to convince me, and I pray others also, of. Shortly after this happened, I was persuaded and realized that it wasn't just about me, and that I should share my testimony, both to encourage you by letting you know that God is using you, and also hopefully to encourage others as well. I ask that you and any other believer reading this pray for those in the comments section that have been deceived, just as we were, that God would show them the same grace, mercy, and love that he has given to us through his only begotten Son, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and through his Holy Spirit. "See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from him that speaketh from heaven:" Hebrews 13:25
Haven’t watched the video yet but this feels like a full circle moment, I remember when you used to drop lore videos on the FromSoftware games and now you have something to say about it from a Christian perspective
bro he's literally saying you will go to hell, this guy which that you will be tortured for eternity, don't give them any sympathy cause they don't have any for you
I'm a Christian fascinated deeply with the lore, cultural motifs and religious myths in Fromsoftware games. My big two are Elden Ring and Dark Souls. Aside from the ethics of occult practices and thought, for me the bigger question is how exactly Fromsoftware is promoting users to actually participate in said things in the real world? If the Bible speaks of divination, omens, and human sacrifice, employs and capitalizes on language and concepts of other religious literature to make claims about its God, should the Christian not read it? Or is it about representation, that is, how is it to be interpreted or presented to you, good or bad... As the player in these RPGs, you get to decide how your character views the world and what ideology you wish to role play through. As a Christian, I don't feel as though my beliefs are being provoked or mocked. Elden Ring doesn't impose a religious ideology onto you, it is a videogame, but somehow thats going over the head of the zealot. Regardless of this, the clearest point of it all is that it's not presented as reality to players, it is of course fiction, which is why I see no moral dilemma to consuming this kind of entertainment. Hopefully that's edifying and clarifying to you non-Christians.
It’s called inspiration. When certain movies or media portray certain dark themes with magic or the occult it gets people curious and that curiosity is what introduces demonic practices. When Harry Potter came out there was a huge boom of young kids who wanted to learn more about witchcraft thinking it was innocent or white magic. All that stuff is evil and you know this deep down, obviously someone who isn’t saved won’t realize it because they are already lost and perishing but you should know that these games are leading people to hell. So now you have an even bigger responsibility to educate and show others that Jesus is asking us to leave darkness and everything associated with it. That is a process the Holy Spirit puts us through when we are sanctified.
So he used to be a souls youtuber? What was his name? And then he had a conversion experience, and now hes promoting christianity. Okay, thats a unique joruney
Is as easy as this one question. Is this activity bringing glory to my Father or is it bringing glory to the adversary? The straight and narrow path is the way that few find.
As an Orthodox Christian and former occultist, I must say: - you are right and right to find connections in their games, because Miyazaki certainly knows them. I myself was surprised playing how many right analogies he notices. He operates with occultism, Gnosticism, paganism and a parody of Christianity. - I feel that your interpretation is too bold. Miyazaki grew up in Japan - there the basic religion is simply not Christianity. And as much as I would like HM to find Christ.... Yes it is unlikely, but.... - yes, it can be harmful to the uninformed mind. - yes, we should talk about it - more I will say, we should highlight more widely the cases of spiritual threats in games, more hidden or sinister (and these are more recently) Still... I understand your testimony. I've been in this place as you are. PS: Having a solid foundation of faith.... These are awesome good games that are not stupid. These are great, and they mostly teach virtue. Christian souls-like would be, after all, the perfect demonstration of our daily, struggles with the demonic. That's how I would think of it.
10:16 this is not only in the souls series, in animes for example, i see this a lot, the idea of a "demon lord being good and those who fight against him being the real evil", i lost count of how many tiems i have saw this idea and that of "God being the evil" and like in berserk that "God and demons are the same thing".
Yeah, you're not wrong. I've been noticing that trend too. One of the reasons why I decided to stop watching the best sellers of anime and manga and stick to the smaller less popular ones. There are less gnostiscm theologies in there and less of the whole "good is evil and evil is good confusion thing".
JFC, the point is to critique institutional religion which has been enslaving human minds for almost our entire existence with imaginary deities used by the powerful to control the many. Becoming a religious fanatic is the opposite of taking the red pill! Ive lost too many loved ones to church brainwashing. It wont give you what you seek
@@h.f.v.1428 But it is noticeable how much these ideologies of these groups of people are infecting absolutely everything, it is just another form of psychological training and form of normalization, therefore, in the example you mentioned, being anime and manga, the largest audience for these media are young people.Teenagers, so we can see that their target will always be young people, especially children. This is why we need to be constantly alert, the problem is, the moment certain names are mentioned, the comments are automatically deleted.
Yeah you missed the point pretty hard huh. God isn’t portrayed as the evil in berserk, god just exists. It’s indifferent to “good and evil”. Although I’m referencing a cut chapter here, the god in berserk was created by humans and literally tells Griffith to do whatever he pleases, because it knows humans reliably choose to be evil. The evil is humanity, not god.
The problem with your theory on how snakes and ultimately dragons are worshipped and considered higher than man falls flat when you realise that most characters in soulsborne who tried to grasp that power ended up worse than before. Lets take some examples,in darksouls you have Seath who despite being an everlasting dragon didnt have the scales of immortality like his brethren, the dude in his experiments with dragons ended up a schizophrenic hermit whomst depends on a crystal to achieve what his brothers have. The very creature you portray in the video known as Oceiros, former king of Lothric, wanted a child which was a product of dragons and humans,in doing so he cursed himself by being a demented freak half human half dragon locked in his gardens by his followers and his queen left him when he did that. Most of the people who follow the path of the dragons which you can find in the dragon peak (Dark souls 3) by trying to become dragons either end up as imperfect beings (snakes) or end up as living statues.Gwyns firstborn ultimately was exiled BECAUSE he sided with the dragons. In Eldenring, the golden order which is the ruling faction when you arrive, considers snakes as heretical mostly due to Rikard feeding himself to Eiglay, the giant serpent.Heck Leyndell forces fight Rikards soldiers at every pace. The tarnished who consume dragon hearts by killing dragons end up being cursed, with most of them ending up as deformed creatures known as magma wyrms.Another example that Miyazaki clearly doesnt think in occult terms and that the knowledge and power the dragons have ultimately are not worth the sacrifices you have to do. And to cap this off the main bad guy we will fight in Shadow of the Erdtree,Messmer,is a dragon cultist practitioner with him having a dragon eye,a sign he consumed dragon hearts.

@@meekgreek9922 Im not some child to be explained about influences in media,I am well aware that inspiration can be taken from anywhere. However to create something great you need to look in all kinds of places and those who are easily influenced by such concepts like occultist practices are either weak willed or have no morals or ideals to stand on. Its as simple as that. The talk with the divine should be personal and not perpetuated by churches nor congregations because man is an inherently flawed creature.
Based on this video, I'd be interested to know what you think of J.R.R. Tolkien and his work. Because he was a devout Catholic who believed learning, and creativity, to be forms of prayer. He considered them legitimate ways to emulate God _without impersonation._
Fam, you do know that Miyazaki takes heavy inspiration from real life things to make his own worlds, right ? i'm not sure if you are aware of how many references are there of other religions and mythos in those games, and how they were molded to make the game owns mythology. But just because you found a gesture that is similar to something else in real life, it doesn't mean that it is occulting some dark secret in the game, it may have in fact just have been inspiration or complete coincidence. Dark Souls isn't trying to convert you to anything, in fact, you do know that this "Sun" god doesn't exist. It isn't real, it will never be, there is only one true God. One single pose that is about extending your arms up isn't going to make God smite you to hell or anything, because after all you were not even aware that something similar was done in the past, neither that it might have had inspiration from such thing. In the end, it doesn't really matter at all. Because Miyazaki's objective has been pretty clear, he doesn't want to convert you to some obscure religion, he wants you to feel the same thing he did when reading english books that he didn't fully understand and put the pieces together with his imagination. In fact, this whole video might just have been because of that, your interpretation over something that was made intentionally so that u can interpret it in multiple ways, due to it's vague explainations. But you decided to slap religion into it, because u felt like there was need to save people from something that even if it it looks terrible.. actually teaches good things? i have yet to see a game that would teach me better that despite how disgraceful and terrible the world looks and is around me, how many times i may be taken down, spit at, beaten and betrayed. I should never give up and keep walking towards my objective, my goal, my meaning. Do what i must do, even if none of my efforts get recognized, and my name is never recorded in history books. I have to be selfless, and simply do it, despite how insignificant it may look. edit: changed "understood" to "understand", "made intentionally made" to "made intentionally", "with his imagination" to "using his imagination" and "it vagues" to "it's vague". english is not my main language
All those other worldly religions u have mentioned have all came out and were made up after the Bible. God had already warned mankind of false gods and idols. So yea Miyazaki used other societies beliefs and some from the Bible.. That's not what this video is about. If u were aware of the demonic realm and more what the Bible says about it then u would understand.

But upon reaching the idols near Gilgal, he himself turned back and said, “I have a secret message for you, O king.” “Silence,” said the king, and all his attendants left him. Then Ehud approached him while he was sitting alone in the coolness of his upper room. “I have a word from God for you,” Ehud said, and the king rose from his seat. And Ehud reached with his left hand, pulled the sword from his right thigh, and plunged it into Eglon’s belly. Even the handle sank in after the blade, and Eglon’s fat closed in over it, so that Ehud did not withdraw the sword from his belly. And Eglon’s bowels emptied. Then Ehud went out through the porch, closing and locking the doors of the upper room behind him.” The Old Testament is savage…it has more lore and inspiration than any secular artist could ever conjure up.

I support you in your reasoned and gentle stance for the faith. I converted in the Nineties and had the same reactions as yourself, just personally. I have been going through a quiet crisis of belief which I am hesitant to share, as the last thing I want to do is shipwreck another believer. I agree that you are spot on regarding faith in Christ, as it was a direct calling to receive a free gift, not a charter for more organized and exploitative systems. Faith in Christ was at its strongest against the world and for people when it was a flock of martyrs. Constantine coopting the faith into a system with himself at the head was the first massive blow to this momentum. Please pray for me and others who for various reason have stilled and wandered, and for those who might turn with our revival. Also please prayerfully consider continuing this channel in the same Light to possibly even reach a few "beloved sinners like you and I' and pull them into the Lifeboat before the maw swallows all else. This is a fantastic presentation, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Bloodborne specifically goes a bit further when you consider that it was originally going to be a sequel to Demon’s Souls. The big revelation would have been that the healing church (what i consider synonymous with the vatican), which seemed to be worshipping something holy that was healing people and giving them strength to fight these terrible beasts, was actually worshipping demons… and that those high level clergymen knew it all along, and lead everyone into the dark rituals with them, mirroring some of what we see irl. The end result traded demons for celestial alien creatures… which is the exact same lol, but most people don’t consider aliens to be the same as demons so it’s a bit of a veil imo. Its worth noting that also in Bloodborne, the “decorative old hunter’s garb” looks very similar to a certain freemason uniform (idk enough to know which) without the apron, but with the medals draped across the chest from shoulder to shoulder. I wonder sometimes whether or not the plot endorses or exposes the principalities we’re warned of in the Bible. I personally see all of the games’ portrayals of church as a scathing rebuke of Catholicism in particular, rather than Christianity as a whole… Nevertheless, the occult aspects are present throughout, and the player is led to participate in them, albeit figuratively. As an example, one of the chalice dungeons uses a stillborn fetus for the ritual to visit the catacombs of a long dead civilization. One thing i will say though, is that playing these games as a believer does not mean you’re have no faith in Christ. In fact, I would wonder how we are to know Satan’s devices if we don’t see for ourselves? I say this… Put on the full armor of God and you will make it through the bombardment of occult concepts unscathed… you yourself have been through the fire, and ended up saving some people on the way out! It’s not over for those who found the truth of these things yet continue on, as knowing the truth of the present danger gives them protection… though it would be prudent to stop if you feel called to. For those who don’t believe, having the truth told to them provides a pathway towards understanding, if/when they choose to walk it. God bless!

most people dont know who rules the world at wat its built on, this is present in every aspect of our lives, everything most ppl just dont know. good video bro.
Great vid as always, but these games are dark fairy tales and I don't think there's anything insidious or wrong about them. As a believer myself I think I approach the themes differently than someone more cynical. For example, I think that Gwyn is good and the Dark is evil. In a world where darkness tries to creep in, Gwyn rages against the dying of the light and is shown to be a figure of hope and sacrifice for the sake of service. In Dark Souls 2, King Vendrick falls from grace but ultimately redeems himself by helping the player and humbly addressing his wrongs. In Dark Souls 3, the Lords of Cinder have turned from the path of righteousness and must be brought to justice for the sake of the greater good. Even when all hope fails, the standard ending is that the player chooses self-sacrifice even in the face of the game's equivalent of Armageddon, and there is still hope fostered in the Painting of Ariandal for the wayward to live in while they await the restoration of the world. It's a positive message. Radagon, similarly to Gwyn, is a force of good while Marika has fallen into cynicism and despair. He is a figure of duty, compassion and justice. When Marika shatters the Elden Ring, it's Radagon who desperately tries to make things right and repair the ring. Even in his tortured form when we confront him, he stands as a final test, and defeating him lets you take up the mantle of raging against the dying of light. The faith of the character in the fairy tale is tested, and the perspective of the player regarding the fairy tale is challenged. But again, I don't think there's anything inherently bad about any of it... because it's a fairy tale. These are wonderful games, and they're fictional. A believer won't find themselves questioning their faith after beating Dark Souls. It is, at the end of the day, just a game. It's okay to ponder the lessons we find in fiction.
I was so confused as to why I got this in my feed. What a channel transformation! Far be it from me to tell you what to make content about but man... but when you immerse yourself in that place and look for the occult, you will find it everywhere. And that's not because it's actually everywhere but because if you try hard enough you can make vague connections about anything. Good luck with your channel, gotta unsub though, can't really take this kind of stuff seriously.
Yes, the occult is not everywhere. Never mind the all seeing eye in the back of your dollar. His approach is very Christian and conservative, but he ain't wrong. FS is a great piece of Luciferian media! :)
As someone who was born into religious fanaticism and is now atheist because of experiencing blatant hypocrisy and their refusal to even discuss it to the point of shaming me for even bring it up. I find the souls games twisting the concepts of light and dark with good and evil so compelling. Just because something claims to be righteous, more often than not, its a front to some selfish desire. My interest in the occult and i assume Miyazakis inclusion of it, isnt because he believes its real. Instead its a fascination in the lore comparable to a hobbyists interest in a fantasy universe.
Yeah you can be agnostic or otherwise and fully appreciate the wide breadth of esoteric wisdom. Its certainly got good frameworks for anyone, primarily focused on self discovery and the seeking of truth and personal growth. Ive found a great deal of enjoyment and inspiration from the Nondual Tantric ideology which is arguably a source for a majority of western esotericism.

Same when Paul was chased & hounded by those who worshipped & made their living off of silver & gold idols of Diana when he came around with the Gospel. I saw one response that said essentially these are the kinds of videos that people make before they go crazy & shoot things for God. The other responses were also disheartening, from complete disregard, to when will you review this material as if an hours worth of information didn't explain why it's important to understand what we "Entertain" ourselves with & how much this topic meant to you in coming to know Christ. If this wasn't enough to point to something wrong on videogames. I'll point you to the Persona Series & almost EVERY Atlus Game they've ever made. Highschool age children, given command of Spirits, powers, god's & goddess's, heroes of old & folklore, by negotiations with demons for their power to fight the games evil. The demons are all linked to the Tarot card system & you Cross match different demons to make stronger ones. Oh but the Persona is just a facet of the millions of types of "You" you can be. This is the baseline for EVERY game in the series, not even getting into child kidnapping, highschool age kids parading about in Leather Cat suits, openly homosexual references, I mean one of these KIDS had an entire level based on A strip club & A Japanese bathhouse. Catherine features A Trans style character that when you find out in the game THAT their "different" if you take ANY option besides acceptance, your reviled by the remaining in game characters, meant to feel shame & this is near the end of the game, also to add it was DLC when it first released, but became mandatory to progress through in later releases. Just look the other way with the Souls games because there's not ENOUGH in these games to say with ease that it's wrong or promotes let alone advertising pagan & unchristian beliefs as "entertainment" That's the response that burns me, that it's not there because it's not easy to see or flagrant, it's just subdued enough to be ok because it has A Faith stat, or Crosses are weapons ala my crutch Castlevania. I grew up wanting to be A "Monster hunter" like Belmont, I knew monsters hurt people & someone needs to stop them from doing it, that was all I needed to know as A child & that's what I saw, that & all the Hollywood Monsters as enemies was catch as well, I knew these foes, silver bullets, stakes, fire & so on, it was familiar territory. Right up there with Dinosaurs & Transformers, I knew more about these things than I knew about telling time, I STILL know more about various games I haven't played for over A decade but could pick up in seconds & be "back home" Time to wrap up yet ANOTHER text Monolith, God's word is true, it always has been & always will be, when we try these things with the Sword of truth, it shows it's true colors. As I said before as well, when we buy of him gold & silver tried on the fire, everything else burns away as dross, it's loss is lamented, but it was never of any value in our walk with he who saves us from ourselves if we're willing to listen & hang up our own worldly wisdom & come to know God's wisdom. Please keep it up sir, there are A few things I don't either understand or agree with, but the Lord will bring us where he will have us be & in time all truths will be known, for now we seek him earnestly, to see & learn to know him through his words. The same way A baby learns the face & demeanor of their parents by reading their faces for joy & sadness, anger & tenderness, we go through & we learn his voice, we see how he moves & learn how he works, because in him is only what's good, right, fair & just, all things we lack & desire to be, but cannot, because we look to worldly things to repair that dead spiritual void that festers in us until we come to Christ. But once we are saved, the Preaching of the Gospel is the word of God but nonsense to those who will not hear. Thank you again sir.
Of course it has basis in esoteric thought, though calling that occult with a negative connotation is unfortunate to see. Especially considering how misinformed most people are about it in the brief moments they interact with it. There are so many different ways of thinking in the esoteric landscape as well as in the source of alot of it's inspiration which is the landscape of eastern thought, specifically nondual saivist Tantra (left current primarily). This does not mean all occult matters are helpful or good, just that if a person has a level of discernment and good judgement, they can navigate those waters pretty effectively. An artist using the aspects of it that they find interesting or notable is always super cool to see because it shows a level of research and detail into these topics that are not super familiar to those who don't care about studying alternate ways of thinking and conceiving of the world. The games touch on cosmic themes as well, so taking a dip into the esoteric world can provide some really fascinating conceptual frameworks or teachings that can fuel the creative mind extremely well. Ironically most of the western esoteric ideas are related directly to inner-work and personal development or growth. It's about becoming a 'whole' and adaptive person who can build mental connections in effective ways. But also touches on spiritual concepts just like any religion or faith does, providing new ways to look at all of it. Also helps to understand the darker parts of the world, ignoring it or dismissing it so naively is a great way to become contracted and narrowminded. In Dark Souls sacrificing yourself for the age of fire could be seen as a holy act of martyrdom, it all depends on how you look at it, which is the entire point of Miyazaki's focus on Esoteric thought. He likes it because it allows people to choose their perspective instead of having it assigned to them by strict and certain doctrine that can easily be interpreted in different ways. Also the games never claim to be pushing Christian thought, so it can't mislead people on it. It takes inspiration from many sources. One outrageous point you made was claiming the choice to make feminine men or focus on the idea of unification of opposites, somehow imply that Fromsoft are pushing a trans/LGBTQ ideology and wishing for children to have sex changes. It shows a partial lack of understanding not only of the actual movements in real life, and of the way Fromsoft tells stories and expresses their ideas through their ART. Oh and a great deal of esoteric thought is tied into Christianity and its main concepts, with some being even more thoughtful interpretations than most modern institutions would even consider. Additionally, duality is a concept seen in almost every belief system in the world, with some focusing more on it than others so citing Gnosticism for it specifically is a bit odd in my opinion. Possible to interpret symbolism like 'serpents' more than one way. When you see a snake does it fill you with primal rage and lead to to destroy it in the name of God for being blasphemous? I'd hope not, but the point is that in Esoteric thought, the serpent is often synonymous with ascension, climbing the tree of life to achieve higher states closer to an absolute God. Also, "Transhumanism agenda?" Just because they show something, dosen't mean Miyazaki himself believes it to be good and true. They show evil just like the bible shows evil, its often for the sake of acknowledging it as very common in the real world. Notice how Ocieros the Consumed King (that you showed while talking about how Fromsoft is pushing that agenda) is miserable and a lunatic, completely lost in his madness. He is not portrayed as a hero, quite the opposite. It shows him as a king who yearned too hard for power beyond his reckoning and lost everything as a result. It shows his perspective obviously, but more often than not, these characters are TRAGEDIES, not meant to be taken as role models. Just nuts how many misinterpretations crowd this video, another example is assuming that the dark path is somehow better than lighting the fire. The whole point is that at first you think lighting is good, but turns out its not great. Then you try the dark path which seems like the correct, secret ending, but it turns out that it's just as problematic at perpetuating the cycle. It's open for you to interpret, but judging the creators on such a subjective basis while assuming its objectivity is wack. You mentioned how Qabalistic (Kabbalistic, not sure which one you were referring to, probably don't even know the difference because this clearly wasn't researched past a google search) thought says that humans have a divine spark that can be accessed (true so far, in fact it's true in most faiths) through the sacrifice of others. Where in the hell does human sacrifice come into accepted Qabalah? The tree of life model comes directly from that teaching, and focuses centrally on the idea of personal spiritual development through learning and growing as person and a being. There are fringe groups of any religion or cult that are ascetics or practice more unorthodox/primal/destructive traditions. But those people do not represent the other bodies of study and worship. Lastly...playing your speech about pushing your faith down everyone's throats while Gwyn's theme plays in the background is not only weird given that you just proclaimed how many problems you have with it, but also somewhat manipulative on a subconscious level. Associating that theme, which souls players adore, with your own preaching on things that have clearly drawn you further away from understanding and connection with the world outside the texts of the Bible. Ironically that's called a Luciferic path in the Esoteric world, where someone pushes so hard into the spiritual that worldly things become secondary and views of reality begin to shift and bend. The history section for Crowley was pretty good, but the conclusion about praise the sun is still really shallow. The same gesture can be used in different contexts to mean very different things. And even if it was inspired by Thelemic teachings (as if that gesture didn't come from older practices) it's still meant to represent the values of loving god and your friends for helping you along your path, appreciating the sun as a guiding force. The fact that he goes after his own inner sun just shows that the 'sun' here represents anything that drives us on, anything that guides us to happiness and goodness. God bless you regardless, I may not be a Christian and don't view god as you do, but I still hope you do well.
The issue is that the occult is full of fake gods and mostly fake satans. His approach may be very Christian, however they have been proven right mostly over time rather than not. FS games have been some of the greatest pieces of Luciferian media out there, intentional or not. Seeing the occult as mainly negative is not a bad approach, as a matter of fact is the safest approach. Keep in mind all of our ancestors knew the things beyond the veil be straightforward evil, or ambivalent at best. It's new age garbo that claims it all to be vanillla and good, ever wonder why everything tries to kill you in souls games?
@@zaclovesschool2273 your views are the 19th century new age garbo, throughout all of human history Satan-Lucifer was understood to be evil. The arguments to present any Satan as good, is akin to claiming Stalin was a good guy because you dislike the capitalist establishments. The thing is even before that all espteric practices WARN you that is a dangerous game if you are unprepared/ignorant.
Matthew 7:15. Just cause the narrator of this video proclaims christ is lord does not mean his intentions are pure. This guy is off his rocker. God bless all here.
Gwyndolin isn't an "agenda". He's sympathetic only to the extent that we're supposed to maybe feel bad that his daddy didn't love him. Otherwise, he is the one propping up Gwyn's false rule, and is only a hero if you feel that a vain struggle to keep the Flame going is preferable to the Age of Dark. This is not a notion the game's narrative supports. And there's really little evidence of Gwyndolin being trans. Some trans people have claimed him as MtF, but there are arguments against that, such as Gwyndolin never claiming to be a woman, having his servants call him a male, and his chosen title of "Dark Sun" indicates that him being MtF is just Western fans projecting their own desires for representation onto a game made by people who might not even care.
@@I-do-not-exist-here Yeah, Gwyndolin is more likely half dragon and possessing an anatomy that can't be fully classified as male or female. That's no more an "agenda" than any science fiction or fantasy setting with nonhumans that don't have sexual dimorphism. I would accept it as possible that Gwyndolin was FtM, but short of confirmation from Miyazaki himself, I wouldn't take anyone seriously who insisted it was absolutely the case.
@@Nemo12417 actually the most prevalent wrong interpretation is that he is transfem, which is illogical, as item descriptions literally state that even his family and closest companions call him by masc pronouns, he was forced to be effeminate by gwyn, and generally not understanding how the reversal ring works. But if you try to argue against the false points you get called a misogynistic transphobe, truly a fate worse than death.
dude. i love this. i am a christian and soulsborne is my fav games. we dont consume this dark twisted meanings. we dont let it consume us. we are the light, we are guarded by grace. we know the difference now. when your not aware of the spiritual warfare then these games might consume you, but when you know who is god and whos authority is higher then anything seen or un seen, you are comforted by his love.. Jesus sees all things and knows your heart. we use our eyes as shields and ears are deflecters. nothing can harm us brother we are in gods grace. dont be scared brother we are more then conquers. peace and love.
Dude, as someone who loves video games, and loved them since my childhood, you can't say it doesn't affect you, because everything that you do affects you on a subconscious level. And video games start to be more and more obvious with their ideology implemented. It is increasingly doing so. I like Elden Ring too, and while I don't agree it is the best example for the occult, it has plenty of it too.
I believe every movie and game is a mystery school teaching hidden in flair and design. Awesome stuff as always! I'm still on the curse of Canaanites video you made in my head every day...spooky stuff given what we have seen
I noticed how much these products self-destruct when they actually show rejection and hatred for fallen angels and go beyond it by calling them “human wannabes”. A ridiculously fitting insult for these wannabe royals of the earth.
First I would like to say I appreciate your strong faith as that is important above all else. However I think this video is a miss. I would love nothing more than for Miyazaki and the team at Fromsoft to embrace Jesus and put out stories in that vein. However Japan and its culture is far removed from Christianity, and I don’t think it’s a negative thing at all for them to pull from other religions to craft their fantasy. As a Christian I’ve always appreciated the references and wish more games would lean in to real religion, as I think it leads to provoking analysis and discussion and puts you one step closer to God. These games are reaching millions who have never seriously considered Christianity but are looking deep into the lore. What they may find may put them on the path to truth, and I find the use of Christian imagery respectful and nuanced. And lastly, the games do depict a twisted version of Christianity, and criticize that twisted anti-Christianity. I have to say, as a Christian I am on board with critiquing twisted false, fictional version of Christianity. That’s one stop short of affirming true Christianity in my eyes.
Aside from the disagreements in the comments section, if you think about it, this is very fascinating! This is actually the entire point of the souls-borne games! In Dark Souls, Blood Borne and Elden Ring lores, they are all about many conflicting orders/religions/gods. Some religions were feared, hated or disagreed with by other ones (for example: 2 Fingers vs the 3 Fingers, Light fearing the Dark, Death Vs Immortality, etc.) This shows how gifted Miyazaki is when taking from the real world and adapting it into fantasy. Think about the different covenants you can join in dark souls, you can even invade worlds and have your soul color coded to represent the devotion of who you choose to serve. The conflict between religion has always been a thing in reality and is usually something of profound significance due to how strong the emotions are when dealing with these types of subject matters. And I just want to say, I am in no way, shape or form trying to make fun of or attack the religious beliefs of Eredin or others that share it. I just wanted to point out the admirable level of maturity as well as creativity that went into creating the lore of the souls-borne games, as it led to the community even having discussions such as this. Also, congrats on 144K subs my friend! for those that know what this means in the bible, they will understand why I pointed it out! 👍👍👍
Thank you for sharing this. Im currently having a similar relationship with all the vampire, horror, and gory media I’ve viewed during my life. Recently watched the new Castlevania anime and it really got me stirred up. I pray for a change that will allow me to steer my eyes away completely. Great video. Thank you.
As a true Christian that is one who is saved by the grace of God which is a free gift. I love fromsoft games. I plated BB. Don’t participate in occultism and it’s okay. Separate it from you. They are only fantasy games.
you're giving money to satanist, this will not be easily forgiven when the son of god comes back to our mortal world, you better start asking for forgiveness this very instant
Also, Eredin, i know you are focused on dark souls a lot, but can you look into red dead redemption? The entire theme is repentance and id love your interpretation of how the themes play out with john marston and Arthur morgan.
What an amazing testimony! That's so awesome! I'm so happy you started realizing what the real darkness was behind those games! Witch I'm sure you can know the symbolism behind games, movies and TV shows! It's in everything they do. Evil is what runs this world. But soon we will be rid of the evil for good. Keep up the great work!🤗❤️🔥🙏🕊️🙋
Thank You for posting ... Scrolling through reading some of these comments, its evident that Many are not aware of, or are just blind to Satan's Devices and his subtle ways.
You guys are the wrong ones following a false god, with actual rituals like drinking blood and eating flesh(eucharist), they also walk in a circle with a candle while singing, just to give some examples. These are actual rituals, not playing a fucking video game.
Part of my faith journey was applying the skills used to interpret the Souls lore to the holy scriptures. These games have deepened my faith, by providing a contrasting view of a world without a sovereign God and without the hope of a savior. I was surprised to learn about the differences between how the modern Western mind views the cosmos, and how the ancient near-Eastern mind viewed the cosmos. A lot of themes presented in the Souls games occur in the Bible too. The primary difference is the nature and actions of God. God is the one who creates duality: in creating heaven and earth, he creates Order and Light from the primordial chaos, then creates land and sea, then populates the heavens and the earth with their respective creatures. This culminates in mankind, Adam, the union of dust and divine breath, earth and God's spirit, a living duality that represents and reflects the nature of God himself into his creation. The serpents are deceivers with their own inscrutable motives. The attempt by created beings (including men) to glorify themselves results in many kinds of appropriate hubristic fates. Ultimately, there are no good characters. While these games are clearly inspired by occult, pagan, and gnostic ideas and symbols, I believe that ultimately all truth is God's truth, and where the games present the absence of a God, they simultaneously and inevitably present how dark, twisted, and hopeless that kind of world would be. I think they provide a fascinating springboard into a discussion about Jesus, the king of the cosmos, the creator and savior of all creation, by contrasting what a cosmos would become without him. Thanks for your work, brother. I don't totally agree with every conclusion you've drawn, but I'm looking forward to many long chats with you in the kingdom one day.
I do agree that in certain games goes beyond just representing or inspiring themselves from a real life religion. What is more insane about the video games industry and even worldbuilding in general is how they always have to make it either polytheistic/animalistic or atheist. I don't remember ever seeing a game or a book where there is just one omniscient god without any doubts or questioning. Its as if Humanity refused all together to believe the existence of one will creating and managing everything. Are we not creative enough or are we deniying the truth ?
This is not the type of Social Media to have this conversation, Substack or Telegram are better, I’ll just say this, the Souls community has a deep problem with gnostic fanfic writers, masquerading as lore tellers, and that may bring people to similar types of conclusions, but that’s just one side of the coin. Ask yourself this: what would you have done if you were Gwyn, to protect his people? What’s the inspiration of the name Havel? What was Lovecraft, in his Lovecraftian horror trying to warn, according to his belief? Why is Marika a Numen, just like the Nox, her (supposed) enemies? There’s more to this than dark good fire bad

I'm glad you made this video, I recently started posting on UA-cam making elden ring clips, and this video was the answer I needed to turn away from it. I've noticed the patterns in that game specifically, and this pushed the door wide open for me.
@zaclovesschool2273 for u lol, I didn't lose anything, I had my fun, NG+5, learned what I needed to. But once the truth is shown, you have a choice. If you don't follow God you aren't losing anything by playing.

I am sorry but this is not the proper approach to this subject, the thing is, you can offer a critic to these games for their use of witchcraft and overall paganism, but you need to understand their true context. Japan unlike the west has been pagan for a long time, for them these themes are normal, you need to first dissect the japanese culture and then disect the games in light of their culture. For example, why kill a god, well take a look at WW2, the japanese fought convinced that their emperor was a god, but then their "god" was defeated and huge change happened afterwards, and thats merely the tip of the iceberg. I suggest you watch the videos of the youtube channel with the name "Moon Channel", seek the video "Why Do You Always Kill Gods in JRPGs?" and keep watching other videos he has on simmilar subjects, use this knowledge to take on the subject with a more informed take. Right now your argument of Crowley and the american cult is very weak. I am Christian and I value your effort thats why I think this would help you. And for anyone who got this far just know, I am a soulsborn fan too and I believe that you can enjoy these games as long as you understand them and avoid witchcraft IRL, I mean, you can play need for speed and that does mean that you have to speed your car on real life, you know thats bad. Still do what your conciouness tell you.See 1 Corinthians 8
I understand your comment, and as an ex dark souls player I never had convictions until I played Elden and saw something horrific. I was in a tunnel and the place had those statue imps the real small ones guarding some prison cells filled with those people who are cursed with the chaos spell. Straight up it looked like I was in hell and killing the the souls that were trapped there . After that I said how in the world can a Holy God ever accept this let alone the Holy Spirit that is residing in believers. I felt disgusted and never touched a souls game again. The problem is people keep saying stuff like it’s just fiction when in this evil spirits like Satan don’t follow rules according to your perspective, he will use anything to hurt you whether you are ignorant and being “entertained”. I’m glad Christians are exposing themselves and saying nothing is wrong because it shows that is the problem! Satan got so many sedated with violence it’s funny to him. Try to expose this games to old testament prophets or even disciples of Jesus and you would quickly be rebuked because there is nothing good about this games.
You need to learn the difference between reality and fiction. It's just sad you are going after a hobby and franchise you liked, especially one that is basically an artifact name for your channel

I have heard it said that 'entertainment is the devil's counterfeit for joy.' Everything that you allow your eyes to see and engage with affects you. Lust of the eyes, lust of the flesh, and the pride of life are the precursors to sin. Fill your minds with good and you will have very little to no appetite for the bad. God bless to all pursuing Jesus Christ!
yeah nothing like ignoring the shadow until it slowly creeps up behind you and consumes you for your blissful ignorance. Can only pursue the ineffable for so long before you find it just as hollow as any other yearning desire for fulfillment. Learning from ancient texts is fine, but narrowing the mind and self to a single one with no deep understanding of the others is a quick path to an isolated and disconnected path. Ive seen it so many times it's honestly extremely tragic because its like a moth flying into a candle flame thinking so desperately that it might be something that can guide it, when really it should have taken a closer look around.

I see it that way as well. The game presents a twisted form of Christianity and then critiques it. It’s reverent with the culture it draws from, and encourages players to take a serious look at the history being drawn on. Taken a serious look at historical truth is a path to Christ. You can enjoy fiction without making it your belief, I don’t wake up wanting to do incantations or sorcery, I play games because I enjoy them.

Of course. as time goes on, and as you learn things whether in good or bad, your perspective about many things changes. Happens to everyone
bro he's literally saying you will go to hell, this guy which that you will be tortured for eternity, don't give them any sympathy cause they don't have any for you
I think this is the best souls video I've ever seen, also the most useful.
God bless you and greetings from Arg my brother
Thank you for writing this, I am glad to see others thinking beyond dichotomies.

You forgot bloodborn lol
Well said.
You should do a video about Destiny. That game is FULL of Biblical and Occult symbolism.
So... you're playing as a Cleric now?

As an Orthodox Christian and former occultist, I must say:
- you are right and right to find connections in their games, because Miyazaki certainly knows them.
- yes, we should talk about it
- more I will say, we should highlight more widely the cases of spiritual threats in games, more hidden or sinister (and these are more recently)
Still...
@@skyblazeXIII another theme is slavery that is growing, if continues like this i dont want to imagine how the world will be in some years.
Yea i agree.... But at first I just thought he was saying....
Absolutely. This video itself is testament to fromsoft and Miyazaki’s success as storytellers.

After Ehud had finished presenting the tribute, he ushered out those who had carried it. But upon reaching the idols near Gilgal, he himself turned back and said, “I have a secret message for you, O king.”
“Silence,” said the king, and all his attendants left him.
I agree that you are spot on regarding faith in Christ, as it was a direct calling to receive a free gift, not a charter for more organized and exploitative systems.
God bless!

Great video keep up the work and god bless
Great vid! Keep up the good work. 👍
I feel a broken heart beneath all of this. Maybe I am wrong. Farewell.
you arent wrong.

I saw some names that have their own channels as now THEIR stuff shows up on the "Feeds" when you scroll through suggested videos that had no small amount of malice & discontent to spread against the idol that is.
Just look the other way with the Souls games because there's not ENOUGH in these games to say with ease that it's wrong or promotes let alone advertising pagan & unchristian beliefs as "entertainment"
That's the response that burns me, that it's not there because it's not easy to see or flagrant, it's just subdued enough to be ok because it has A Faith stat, or Crosses are weapons ala my crutch Castlevania.
Right up there with Dinosaurs & Transformers, I knew more about these things than I knew about telling time, I STILL know more about various games I haven't played for over A decade but could pick up in seconds & be "back home"
Time to wrap up yet ANOTHER text Monolith, God's word is true, it always has been & always will be, when we try these things with the Sword of truth, it shows it's true colors.

There's occultism in almost every format of media and literature out there nowadays
32:44
I find is quote in particular to be both interesting and very ironic..
I'll take discernment for 500 Alex
literally
Eredin has gone hollow
He's gone fundie
It’s the pattern of sin it promotes and even an “antichrist” figure. This is all media though

Marika as a feminist agenda? I'm pretty sure she's a cautionary tale about hubris, not someone that girls should aspire to emulate.
Western queer here, hes not trans at all, and anyone who says he is has never paid attention to the character.

Dude, as someone who loves video games, and loved them since my childhood, you can't say it doesn't affect you, because everything that you do affects you on a subconscious level. And video games start to be more and more obvious with their ideology implemented. It is increasingly doing so. Thank you for making the video.

that's exactly what the KJV Bible explains in the Book of Revelation of Jesus Christ, literally prophecy playing out, humble yourself and repent
