Glad you tried it for us, your reviews and analysis have been and are spot on so there is no doubt for me the shells are an option, just might not be on the top of the list. Just watching the prep time was a handicap, you are right there too. Griddle on Doc.

I made these once when all the hype started, I did say once. Was like eating a chewy cat turd. I'm with you on the pig shots! I use a cajun sausage on the bottom with a cube of jalapeno jack in the middle topped with a cheesy cream cheese filler. They never disappoint.

I 100% agree with your conclusion. Great walkthrough. Your technique is spot-on, too, letting them sit overnight. The recipe tweaks are personal preference -- we all make them, right? First time I tried making them early this summer, my wife asked the question, "all that work for an appetizer?" If I want the same type of appetizer, I'm going with Atomic Buffalo Turds (ABTs) or mini quail eggs. I want bite-sized appetizers I can make while the meat is cooking, not a separate project for an appetizer that's practically a small lunch. Bottom line? Shotgun shells only mean one thing in my house, and my Beretta doesn't take pasta...

I made a variation yesterday. I agree, that they are kind of an effort, for the payoff. To me. But, especially being from northern MN, where BBQ is scarce, people flipped. They were ghandi, in minutes. So yeah, they were worth it. To stuff them, I just get a big ole palm full, and pack them like a wheel bearing. Goes super quick. Good vid, Sir.

Haven't had these - but I agree, Pig Shots are the bomb! And SOOOO many options for stuffing them. I do the smoked cream cheese mixed with pepper jack and a jalapeno slice on top, those are great. Another option, if you haven't tried it, take leftover smoked pulled pork and fill your pig shot, about a 1/2 tsp of brown sugar on top, a dollop of BBQ sauce and then drizzle on... some BOURBON! (Elijah Craig or Larceny if you ask my opinion) Smoke and enjoy! :D

Glad you're liking the pellet smoker. I currently have an SnS Kamado, but I've got my eye on the Lone Star Grillz 20x42 Pellet Smoker if I decide to get a pellet grill, as it just seems to be in a league of its own in terms of the design and the smoke flavor you can get from a pellet smoker. I've also got my eye on the LSG Large Insulated Cabinet, but I am considering the pellet smoker instead as I can probably get it up to temp in 10-15 minutes instead of an hour, so I just feel like I'd use it more.
Still haven't got my Pit Boss griddle either. Best Buy and I are about to have words, as they took my money and it's been over a week since I ordered, yet I haven't heard a word about when I can get what I paid for.

This is being 100 percent honest. I received the Pit Boss for free. Im a ambassador and get things like that.
That being said it by no means will ever cloud my judgment. Just not worth it. In my 3 video ever posted called smoker gasket seal review i said in that video I want a pellet smoker and asked what should i get. I waited two years because as u can tell we switched and begin flat top grilling. I narrowed my options just like pros and cons and wanted the pit boss because of price vs options and build quality. The ability to open flame sear sold me. When i was approached by Pitboss about receiving another grill i declined and asked for the Navigator. Its the one I really wanted to begin with.
All that rambling to say I absolutely love mine. Can’t believe I didn’t get one sooner

I remember one time I kept it simple at a family BBQ and made some bacon wrapped jalapeño poppers and pig shots. My uncle was like I got something that will blow your mind and you will make these over poppers and pig shots from here on out. I seen him stuffing noodles and I’m thinking what the hell is that. No way I’ll like those over poppers or pig shots. I took 1 bite of these so called famous shotgun shells and secretly spit it out off the back deck. Told him I’m not a fan of the noodle but the rest tasted fine. In all honesty I didn’t like any of it 😑 the fact all my jalapeño poppers and pig shots I made were completely gone at the end of the evening and he still had 3/4 of a pan of shotgun shells made me feel bad for him because he came in all confident about them 😅 glad to see you say they are not that great either. Great video. Here's the thing, they are a novelty cook. Great as appetizers. Fun food. As to running around to different stores? NO, NO, NO! I know a thing or two about pastas ( I LOVE pasta) and make homemade by hand pastas. It's really easy. But if you don't want to go that route heres a suggestion. Just by fresh pasta sheets you would use to make lasagna. Cut the sheets into pieces big enough to roll your filling with. It's so fast and really easy. And like you did do this the day before your event, they will be fine. Infact when you make fresh pasta at home it's fine for a full week. Make pasta once a week or every other week as a family activity. The kids will love it. Learn to make true manicotti this way. Plus Ravioli, Tortellini, well you get the idea. And since you're using fresh pasta the pasta is already soft. Just so you don't think I'm blowing "smoke" up your ass, if you two ever come out here for a salmon fishing trip I'll make you my fresh pasta cheese and smoked salmon Ravioli 😋. A piece of heaven it is. Anyway great video. Good to see you break things up some. Pit Boss makes some great pellet cookers. Have a great day 🌤 😀 👍🔥

So I pull up You Tube and all these videos pop up. I see this one that reads "Shotgun Shells" I am like "What the flip is that? Then I go to my subscriptions and see your new video. Lol it is the shotgun shells. I gotta watch it. So with that being said I have been around a while and I can honestly say I have seen recipes from moons ago with stuffed manicotti. I would have to say all were in the oven with a tomato sauce. As you were doing this video I was thinking they could be done a number of ways so a gathering would be fun, maybe some topped with good cheese, or tomato sauce, the bbq sauce ones, even different stuffings would be cool. Even different spices just to get an idea of who is the king or queen that day. So a once in a blue moon thing would be ok to me. But with that being said when I started thinking about some of the other videos like smash burgers, tacos, philly cheese steak, gyros, teriaki items, hot dogs, chicken, etc. and all the ways you can do these things on a grill my mouth starts to water. Then lets not forget all the breakfast scenarios that I could eat morning day or night. That was my thought process until the end. And what made this video so good to me was the fact that at the end you said it to the audience, no sugar coating, just stating the facts. I smiled and thought "Yep he is on a roll" Great Job!!!!!!!!!!!
