I think a lot of people will be playing more often. I actually got to play with my buddy in New Zealand and I’m in the USA. Servers were at an acceptable FPS the entire session. Missions were messed up but we can actually play the game now. At least until monster Hunter wilds comes out.
The paladin is a good ship design, the problem is that they nerfed a few ships at the same time as they added it which will inevitably make it seem like this was replacing them. There is also the fact that the ships that changed right before this was added are much weaker than they were before their changes doesn't help the situation. Redeemer- requires at least 3 crew to man primary turrets, the mobility is not enough to dodge enemy fire, a Connie can beat a Redeemer consistently now, and the Redeemer doesn't have a cargo hold, a snub fighter, or as much fuel as a connie. Corsair- probably requires at least 2 crew now to be combat effective, coordinating between the pilot and a gunner who can't aim their weapon is a crazy concept and I don't know how they thought this was a good idea. A solo player in a connie will easily beat a solo player in a corsair now despite having a snub fighter and more cargo capacity.
I feel its a perfect escort ship for long range freight runs. 2 of these escorting a hull series freighter would certainly make a pirate question his decision of attacking.
I’m glad to see you continuing the series of ship reviews. It’s got to be difficult after doing ALL of the ones not long ago. Love that you are still awesome bro.
Since I'm usually solo, the Paladin is a lot more ship than I really need. If I was regularly flying in a team of four... I'd be tempted. It is a really cool-looking ship. I'm hoping that we'll see a Valkyrie re-work alongside the Paladin release. Now that we know the Genesis isn't coming until after 1.0 I've applied all my CCUs up to the Valkyrie and it can be my big people-mover for now.
I think it needs a second and third entrance, a bit of cargo space and maybe even a medbed. It should be a tank in space, completely autonomous and sufficient. It is big enough to have multiple tactical entrance points, and by lore space to hold replacements, more ammo, an such; which we don't have ingame so at least generic cargo space
I understand being a dedicated vehicle and it makes sense that is the best in its class for that activity but I'm still a multi-role vehicle kind of guy. You just never know what you're going to get into when you leave your hanger
It is exactly up my alley designwise. Yet I dont see me going out as a duo with this instead of getting another citizen (or two or three) ready to jump into a Perseus! :)
I'm a big fan of the Paladin design, and loadout - I really like the side turrets being split between the pilot and potential crew, so the ship is *better* with crew, but still decently strong with only 1 extra member.
I´m on the line on this one... Most often in solo-play, so really not for me - but it just looks soo good and COULD come in handy. Might CCU my Corsair for it though since I do not use the Corsair any longer (since the 4->2 gun nerf).
John Crewe said something what some overheard ,modularity of the Redeemer.. it could be an awesome move after changeing it that much. Holdingcells could open it to Bounty Hunter gameplay or some Titansuit dropmodules.
It's effectively half a Perseus minus the vehicle bay and cargo hold. The lasers give it staying power without ammunition. It goes to butt heads in a combined arms operation or function as a highly aggressive mercenary or security ship.
Paladin is looking like a good ship, however I am not in a good place on how we got here. Hopefully the Paladin keeps it's stats and possibly be able to change its missiles to a smaller size to have more missiles overall... love the Rattlers.
Valk should carry 90 scu because that’s what fits on the current cargo grid if they just made it three high like most ships. It’s one of the only ships with a 1scu high cargo grid.
I believe that all multi-crew ships should have at least 2-4 SCU, just for personal storage for on-board supplies and such. Not for shipments or anything, just enough to bring some stuff along to keep you going.
To be clear. I agree with you. I've said that in previous videos. However, CIG has stated that they will allow for supplies to be stored in other ways so I don't think we're getting that. They also stated that certain ships don't get SCU spots to force them to live by their limitation. The inability to rearm or resupply yourself is part of the cost and choice consideration now.
I am glad to see them make ships more for specific purposes to give us more reasons to have multiple ships and different experiences but I don't know if my wallet can take it.
I think that the Paladin, just as the Terrapin, won't really shine until the armor mechanics are in play. I'm mainly a solo player with a focus on hauling and industrial game play. I picked up the Paladin for when I want to dabble in group play, where the Paladin gives fire support to someone else.
I wonder if CiG will do something to Scorp / Hurricane to differentiate them in the same style. The Hurricane is already starting to slow down quite a bit compared to the x-wing, but the HP pools don't seem to match the cane being a slower beefer two-seater. 100% with you in thinking that if the balance gives these ships different flavors vs having the same ship in a different builder. Still can't wait for SQ42 to let me get some more fancy alien multi-seat ships.
Love the paladin, always love gunship in sci fi. The ship looks like a bad *** ship. Also love the class name. Keeping thinking of buying, would love to see this give away.
i love this ship. im gunna use it like a heavy duty scorp. i see it like a infiltrator base or space station. like when luke goes down the crack of the death star. fly in destroy turrets or mines protecting basses or space station and go in and out dropping ppl off
Its a cool ship, even though i dont have a use for it. However, as one of those who want cargo grids almost everywhere (and love the Redeemers cargo corner) i have to disagree on the no cargo argument. Its not a current problem and i dont care about doing cargo runs with gun- or dropships. But looking at what grade of realism the devs are aiming at, if a ship has the beds, the range and is supposed to get damaged in combat on top of wear and tear we will eventually desperately need to bring quite a list of supplies to sustain the crew and the ship. And so far ship design barely provides the locker space for a bottle of Cruz and a few other personal effects per crewmember. So to me, the only reasonable solution is incorporating a little cargo grid to bring a supply crate or two on every ship that wants to leave the immediate area of its fleet or base
dosent need a cargo grid ? what about when it comes to reloading the guns internally not a massive amount of cargo is needed just a small amount. maybe 8 scu.
As a too big fleet haver I can say with absolute confidence that there will always be a need for crew. any 'surplus' crew will learn on the job to be jacks of all trades and quite possibly experience more breadth of the game than the people who own the ships. Gunners, engineers, marines, dropship specialists, quartermasters, deck crew, longshoremen, any 'surplus' crew will learn on the job to be jacks of all trades and quite possibly experience more breadth of the game than the people who own the ships
You can say what you want, I will never be convinced that CIG changes to the Redeemer was for "balance". They have never seemed to like the Redeemer and given the history of "balance" desicions I am just not going to be convinced that there wasn't a marketing motive behind the changes.
No. Every single ship needs 2 SCU minimums. Especially with component spares and ballistic ammo. All military ship has hot or cold spares. The Paladin needs 2-6scu for that very reason. Every single ship needs The grid. It's more like Storage Grid not Cargo grid.
I really like the concept of the Paladin. Would just need to find someone to fly with regularly. So I rate it future-tense perfect.
I think a lot of people will be playing more often. I actually got to play with my buddy in New Zealand and I’m in the USA. Servers were at an acceptable FPS the entire session. Missions were messed up but we can actually play the game now. At least until monster Hunter wilds comes out.

congrats on 8k! great to see the channel grow but it also means more competition for that perseus...
didn't realize he only had 8k
I feel its a perfect escort ship for long range freight runs. 2 of these escorting a hull series freighter would certainly make a pirate question his decision of attacking.
As always, thank you for the great content! Your videos have really helped me out as a newer SC player. Thanks!
Congrats on the 8k! Thanks for the vid
I love the look of this ship, it just speaks to me. I’ve added it to my fleet.
🤣🤣🤣
It is shocking that your channel only has 8k Subs. :O Keep that grind going!
I’m glad to see you continuing the series of ship reviews. It’s got to be difficult after doing ALL of the ones not long ago. Love that you are still awesome bro.
Great videos. Love this series, lots of good detail in there!
The track mount turret is a cool idea, I hope we see more in the future.
Great review, thank you! I am interested in seeing how this ship comes out.

I love the fact that they took the lessons from the Redemer and gave us a ship that make full use of its firepower and there is no janky ladder.
I think it needs a second and third entrance, a bit of cargo space and maybe even a medbed.

😂😂😂
One of these days, we'll have to sit down and talk ships. I could talk ships for days and days. Haha.
I'm am Anvil fanboy, so this was a must get for me. It was sad to give up my redeemer but i think this is perfect for my friends and I.
Great vid!
Fantastic breakdown of roles
Gavin design , love that cockpit.
Thanks for a changes and your opinion.
looking forward to this one , always loved the Valk and this is a cutdown valk with so much firepower
Mmm…a flying tank sounds like a lotta fun!
Can't wait to fly my Paladin with that Shadow fall paint! ☺️
Looks like an ed209. I like it. Thanx for what you do.
I'm so excited for the Paladin to come out, the concept looks good, cant wait to see it in game!
I understand being a dedicated vehicle and it makes sense that is the best in its class for that activity but I'm still a multi-role vehicle kind of guy. You just never know what you're going to get into when you leave your hanger
This should be a great escort ship for drop ships, tons of fire power for its size, great for softening ground targets too.
Already bought a paladin. Can't wait
I just like the way it looks...
Wasn't first because I was watching the live stream. 😛
I can't wait for this ship. I hope its well balanced. Not op and not useless.
You guys remember when the Corsair could control it's pilot guns
This and the Percy are looking to both be solid small crew heavy hitters. Here's hoping they're both flyable by next year.
let's please start a petition for all s4 pilot controlled weapons for the Redeemer
Very nice power for two people...
It is exactly up my alley designwise. Yet I dont see me going out as a duo with this instead of getting another citizen (or two or three) ready to jump into a Perseus! :)

great review man
You can put smaller missile racks on the size 4 missile hardpoints
I plan to get a gunship in the Spring. This might be the one.
I´m on the line on this one... Most often in solo-play, so really not for me - but it just looks soo good and COULD come in handy. Might CCU my Corsair for it though since I do not use the Corsair any longer (since the 4->2 gun nerf).
Small team ship to make Big troubles !!! 😁👌🏾
Love this ship will probably get it in game though.
looking forward to this ship
The Polaris is too big for my taste, but the Perseus feels like it’s right up my alley. That and Arrastra are the ships I’m really waiting for.
John Crewe said something what some overheard ,modularity of the Redeemer.. it could be an awesome move after changeing it that much. Holdingcells could open it to Bounty Hunter gameplay or some Titansuit dropmodules.

Thanks for the review!
To me this is the angry Valk that has no friends (all the guns, no cargo and no jump seats).
Paladin is looking like a good ship, however I am not in a good place on how we got here. Hopefully the Paladin keeps it's stats and possibly be able to change its missiles to a smaller size to have more missiles overall... love the Rattlers.
i have both the TAC and the Paladin. firepower support is the name of the game in Pyro

Looks like a cool ship, I just need friends to help crew it lol
I'm excited for this ship. I think it looks very promising.
This over Scorpius is gonna be a tough pill to swallow.
I am glad to see them make ships more for specific purposes to give us more reasons to have multiple ships and different experiences but I don't know if my wallet can take it.
Great video, thank you
Have to get my redeemer back some how. Sprinkle in some cig marketing and here we are ccu to another ship.
hell yeah man keep it up can't wait for paladin
This ship is gonna dominate bounties
I think that the Paladin, just as the Terrapin, won't really shine until the armor mechanics are in play. I'm mainly a solo player with a focus on hauling and industrial game play. I picked up the Paladin for when I want to dabble in group play, where the Paladin gives fire support to someone else.
Keep up the good work

The PALADIN looks great but that lower deck is a lot of empty space right now. Surprised they simply didn't make it a VALKYRIE variant.
i love this ship. im gunna use it like a heavy duty scorp. i see it like a infiltrator base or space station. like when luke goes down the crack of the death star. fly in destroy turrets or mines protecting basses or space station and go in and out dropping ppl off
I can always count on you man.
Its a cool ship, even though i dont have a use for it.

Pretty cool ship but nothing for me. It's gonna be fun joining one for a mission or two later on though
It's a ship with a lot of hallways and no storage. Not sure how I feel about that.
i wonder what the body hp will be like for this ship
I bought one, I hope it's good. Weird that it's double the width of a redeemer (2scu) and has no scu?
Big potential tank
I enjoy your vid's
Gz on 8k! Like the cockpit and overall looks, but not for a solo player so its a pass.
I need to get myself an Apollo. It's gonna be a noticeable step up from the Cutty Red and I'm not a fan of the look of the Terripin medic
Hope they don't nerf it.
I wonder how many redeemers were melted for this ship?
wish you would do more videos instead of streams.
but still good work. keep going
I'm doing both! It will be 3 videos minimum per week. 3 minimum streams per week as my new schedule!
Redeemers only "redeeming" quality being the cargo grid to store ammo to reload its guns?
Shop smart, shop S-Mart
dosent need a cargo grid ? what about when it comes to reloading the guns internally not a massive amount of cargo is needed just a small amount. maybe 8 scu.
But...I like to play backgammon.
Amazing
damn thats wild
I have mixed feelings about the Paladin
I'll take the TAC over the paladin at the price
Afyer the redeemer and corsair nerf im gonna have a hard time dropping new money into the game.
As a new player I can't really imagine ever having this ship in my own fleet, but I will happily be a crewmember for someone else who does get it.
As a too big fleet haver I can say with absolute confidence that there will always be a need for crew. any 'surplus' crew will learn on the job to be jacks of all trades and quite possibly experience more breadth of the game than the people who own the ships.
