Airstream Globetrotter 25FB Travel Trailer Tour (Unbiased RV Review)

  • This is a COMPLETELY UNBIASED RV REVIEW of the 2020 ‪@Airstream-Inc‬ Globetrotter 25 FB travel trailer. We take you on a tour and share our completely unbiased rv review of the exterior and interior features. As all Airstreams are, the Globetrotter has the classic shiny aluminum shell with the iconic wrap around front and rear windows. It looks great from the outside and is immediately recognizable. The Globetrotter 25FB is a rear living, front bedroom floor plan. It has an in demand light interior with white cabinetry and blue accents. We liked that, for an Airstream, it did have a couple of good exterior storage bays and had a full side awning for the windows on the driver's side and then a full electric patio awing on the passenger's side. We like the better redesigned telescoping table that makes down into a bed but also see the challenges it brings with needing to have long arms and some significant strength for the bed to be made up by 1 person only. We struggled with the cushions, of course, making up the couch bed because again they were too tight and kept popping out of place. Those stunningly beautiful windows were tough to open, however we think with practice one could figure it out. The twin beds were not for us but did seem comfortable and had good storage. The other thing we did not like was the opening size of all of the upper cabinets. It was just too small leaving a large lip in front that you would have to reach down behind to access anything in these cabinets.
    The Airstream Globetrotter 25FB could easily be used in an RV Sometimer Lifestyle but would also work great for a snowbird, full timer or vacationer. A weekender would have a great time in it as well but it is a hefty price tag to pay for weekends. This rig would be best suited for a couple or a solo traveller who may have occasional guests. We think there are much better floor plans out there to choose from for a family.

    Our 2021 25FB Globetrotter arrives next month...almost the same as this one. A nice change is a split dining table where half can be removed and the front wall becomes a U-shaped bench. The remaining table half swivels 90* to become a longer/narrow table that fits with the U seating. The stabilization legs are all electric as well. We will have a second AC plus solar. The second external electrical port goes away with addition of the second AC. Love this rig!
    And...this is the first of your video's I've seen. Well done! Thank you!

    I noticed there were no 110 outlets by the bed in the front of the rv with the twin beds. Are there outlets? If not are there outlets on the queen bed setup?. I need 110 for cpap.

    • @DoesSizeMatter
      @DoesSizeMatter  5 років тому +2

      Good question. There is one for sure on the side near the TV but that would also make it the foot of the bed unless you wanted to change that up but then you wouldn't have the cupboard to put your machine on. We are not sure of the difference if you choose the Queen bed but we are going to another show soon and an Airstream dealership so we will look around and ask the question. Thanks for watching.

    What I've been noticing with these Airstreams is how much you have to get down on your knees to access storage. That's fine for you and for me, bu there are many people for whom this won't work. Airstreams are so pretty, but I'm not sure how comfortable, literally, and with lack of adequate storage. Thanks for doing this. Shelley from San Diego

    • @DoesSizeMatter
      @DoesSizeMatter  4 роки тому

      The entire Airstream trailer is different then most. With the construction and style being so different they don't allow for the same kind of storage as many other types of trailers. So as with any RV it comes down to what the priorities of the buyer are, what are they willing to give to get and it really is an individual thing. Thanks for your thoughts and for watching.

    • @bon2198
      @bon2198 4 роки тому +4

      pricey yes. But, most people who own a travel trailer upgrade every 2-5 years on average. Buy an airstream and buy it for life. In the long run it’s cheaper. If you can afford the monthly payment of course.

  • @KU9L

    The second 30-amp power connection up front is for your generator which is usually located in the bed of your truck. 50-amp models do not offer this second power connection. It is a tough choice to decide on the GT or the FC models, pros & cons of each for sure!

    Isn't there a small closet in the hall across from the bathroom? I'm curious as to how large it is in the 25'. I've enjoyed your videos and seeing real people (not salesmen) walking through them. It's a better representation of real life!

    • @DoesSizeMatter

      There is indeed a closet in the hall between the fridge and the shower and I am so sorry that we got all excited to get to the bathroom and missed it. Bummer. We do think it is a decent sized closet though. We were like you and wanted to see RVs from real people's perspectives (not worrying that someone was trying to sell us something), that's why we started our unbiased channel. We do a lot of work on research to share with you and are so happy to hear you are getting value from our work. Thanks for watching.

    I'm wondering if you can still do reviews during this troubling time, if not i'm wondering when you can, if you could find and review a Sierra C-Class 3550FL?

    • @DoesSizeMatter
      @DoesSizeMatter  4 роки тому +1

      Thanks for asking. We are currently still on isolation but when we come out as long as we maintain all of the rules we should be able to film reviews if the dealerships are open. We have stock piled content to keep sharing for a little while and then we will call dealerships to schedule times where they would open the rvs and then let us film so that we are not in contact with one another. There will for sure be no RV Show crowds for us or anyone else. We would love to check out the Sierra for you. We will add it to our list and start looking for one. Thanks for watching

    Windows are really easier to open once you get the hang of it. A credit card will help break the seal from the outside, if they have not been open recently. Actually very easy to do, and you don’t have to do it all of the time.

It looked like when you were sitting at the dinette there was a lot of room behind your back. Did you find the dinette comfortable? For reference would you mind saying how tall you are? Thanks for the effort you put into your videos. Very much appreciated.

      Glad you liked it. I am 5' tall and there was space behind my back when sitting at the table but that is not unusual. When sitting up to a table my back never touches the cushions so it was comfortable for eating. For lounging I would have needed something to put my feet up on or a pillow to lean back on. Hope that helps you out. Thanks for watching.

    You struggled with your presentation and your personal inputs might cause me to hesitate buying this rig. If you would unlock the sindow, put one hand on the window pane and lightly push to alleviate downward pressure from the window weight your other hand can manipulate the up and down lever quite easily. I would suggest watching your presentation over and over then practice. I know everyone has to start somewhere but perhaps on a used rig that wouldn't cost your company to loose $'s like you would on a brand new 2020 airstream. Just a potential customers thoughts.

    • @DoesSizeMatter
      @DoesSizeMatter  4 роки тому +16

      We are thrilled to hear you are a potential Airstream customer as they are super fun trailers and it is always exciting when one of our viewers gets a new one. We would have to suggest you watch a lot more of our reviews though, there are plenty of Airstreams to choose from. Once you do you will realize that our company will never loose money from your decision to purchase or not because we would never earn money from your purchase either, as we do not work for dealerships or manufacturers. Our reviews are completely unbiased researched information that we gather to share with others. We do not sell RVs. We go into an RV and show how it is, good parts and not so good parts. If I am struggling with something there is a reason and it has nothing to do with my presentation. To help you out with your future purchase you should know that the windows we were opening have screens so it is not an option to push on the bottom of the glass to move it out as you would have to push through the screen to do so. Although you do seem to think you know how to operate these components even though you don't own one or maybe you are just one of those folks who likes to criticize on topics you actual know very little about. Enjoy watching the rest of the videos, even watch them over and over, you will learn so much from them. Have fun.
