- Wait - HOW many deaths?! Here's the kill count from 2004's Dawn of The Dead!
From Zack Snyder’s Dawn of The Dead (2004): Survivors of an epidemic which causes the infected to turn into flesh-eating zombies take refuge in a shopping mall. In addition to battling the undead, they also have to tackle problems from within.

Most intense zombie movie I’ve ever seen, I was 12 when it came out and saw it and it gave me night terrors for months lol loved it.
I was 9 And wasnt scared Of it infact i Love zombies since 6
I was 32 when this movie came out and I loved how fast the zombies moved . I am currently 50 now lol
I watched 28 days later when I was 6. I only watch zombie stuff on YT now lmao cause im in control
u clearly havent watched 28 days later
@@djagereversalresearch7018 oh no, I have. And don’t get the wrong I absolutely love that movie but for whatever reason this one just got me. Probably also because the neighborhood in the beginning strongly resembled mine when I was a kid when this came out.
Still the greatest zombie movie I've ever seen. A perfect hybrid of scary, gory, suspenseful, sad, and hopeful with some very belivable zombies mixed in. C.J.'s gradual shift/development from the 'self-caring asshole' to the 'look out for others + go out with a bang hero' always put a smile on my face.
You need to watch other ones and Train to Busan is much better.
I was always disappointed that C.J died and used to believe the Island ending was a What-if scenario that everyone survived until the island.
@@DanV900 in no way shape or form is Train to Busan better;
Its zombies are goofy more than they are scary, they are cartoony pushovers who are dangerous only when the script wants them to be.
Its has few deep horror elements as the source of the infection is known (biotech cliche) and is contained.
It has few to no memorable scenes (especially horrific situations) and the plot development is predictable from a mile away and full of cliche elements.
I dont know if its just a cultural thing but the acting is just off (the people dont feel or act like normal people would in a apocalyptic situation) and the CGI is just cringe.
Meanwhile the dead from Dawn are extremely scary in their ferocious, demonic behaviour and a formidabile threath to which all characters are equally vulnerable.
Dawn is a real horror movie with serious lovecraftian elements. The source of the affliction is unknown but a biblical cause is suggested and its a global apocalypse.
Dawn has a large number of very memorable, horrific scenes; its characters have a realistic and convincing acting and the movie has very good special effects.
By no means is Train to Busan a bad movie nor is Dawn of the Dead a perfect one, but there is no comparrison between the two.
20 years later Dawn of the Dead still has a serious following and it will continue to have one for decades to come.
Train to Busan? Pretty much forgotten a few years after release.
@@AntoniuDraculea It’s impressive how wrong you are and most of the acting in Snyder’s Dawn of the Dead is bad. Saying Train to Busan has few to no memorable scenes is hilarious and Dawn of the Dead peaked in the opening. Saying Train to Busan has been forgotten is just flat out wrong. Both movies have followings where Snyder fans overrate Dawn of the Dead when it’s not great especially compared to the original. Train to Busan gained one as a foreign film that didn’t even have a wide release in the United States and was on streaming services.
@@DanV900 its impressive how hard you're coping, with your 3 votes in favor of ''Train of Busan is best'' vs 130 votes in favor of ''Dawn of the Dead is best'', accusing others of doing exactly what you are doing (overrating a movie). Also nice cope, attempting to explaining why Train to Busan fell way below Dawn of the Dead at boxoffice, but no, both Train to Busan and DotD were released in teathres in North America and both were and are on streaming services. Fact is, DotD came ahead by a lot.
You missed two kills. The little girl and Anna's husband who was bitten and turned
I know right!
@@freebigbird one of my favorite zombie movies and a great video here don't get me wrong but I was watching and noticed they skipped a whole scene after the shower sex just before Anna left
But the ending is stupid
You never actually see them die on screen; they get bit but come back as the undead. So, they are technically still alive even if they are zombies.
Also Tucker, the older hillbilly guy who breaks his legs and CJ mercy kills when they are returning from the gun shop
Dude this movie scared the hell out of me when I was 6. I love it now.
you got to watch classics guy. this fast running zombie bs makes it totally screwed for living. slow and steady works for zombies just as good as running and we have 5% chance of winning. try watching dead snow there's 1-2. then there's the dead 1-2. through the first of course is better.for laughs in a zombie flick return of the living dead1-3 the rest are god forsaken. the really funny ones are juan of the dead, the video dead(super cheezy more then a pizza's worth!) from the 1970's is shockwave, zombie 2. but for god's sake avoid all other ones they are not even cheesy they stink like bad fish. and of course the korean zombie flicks are getting good such as alive and train to busan 1-2 both good. WARNING 90% ARE TERRORABLE SO SADLY GOT TO WATCH THEM I'VE SEEN OVER 160 SUCH MOVIES AND 8 ARE WORTH IT.
U are still scared even till u grow up ?
I saw this movie at the theater as an adult and it scared me too 😂
@@tonynelligan1930 it might be impossible to survive in a 'Rage' virus zombie film which is basically from 28 Days Later, a zombie virus which is the same details and reactions in this movie. But it's still really awesome and good. I'd like to recommend a movie which is HvZ (Humans Vs Zombies) it's kinda low on zombie affects bc they have bloodshot red eyes, growls, and pale skin that makes it stupid looking but it's a decent flick in my opinion. One of the good ones in the long list of ones I seen.
@@vegetablack8114 if you go with the modern zombies running like that there's 0% hope for you. only with shufflers do you have a 5% chance. watch the youtube channel resist the undead. or more like it be if you watched ArmA site but plz overlook the throwing of cars, but other then that it's close to what it would really be like.
7:34 Rest In Peace Phil Dunphy.
Phil? Uh, his first name is “Agent”.
Hahaha I was looking for this comment
i remember this zombie movie being on television the most because i was a kid that loved zombie movies, and zombie videogames. really i grew up in the perfect time to enjoy zombies, but the movie appeared the most on channels like TNT, Starz, Chiller (which btw sad that channel doesnt exist anymore). this version of dawn of the dead definitely is apart of my core memory of enjoying zombie survival as a genre
Cj's sacrafice is the Badass One
the body count would be higher than 201 if you included the after credits scene
Amazing strength those zombies had for supposedly being "dead"?!?
from the internet, brain limiter = "Yes, human muscles are limited by the brain. The brain limits the body's strength and use of muscles to avoid self-harm. Our brain, rather than our body, defines when it's time to stop, expressed in pain and fatigue".......since they're dead, they can't feel/experience pain or fatigue
It added a new dynamic to the movie. Fast running zombies that don't feel pain or get tired.
They're infected not dead
@@screwstonTXmeskin713 they’re literally dead
@@Watergunner they're still runned by infection. It ain't the walking dead
7:00 He did that on purpose
Yup passed me off
Never give an old man a chainsaw
5:13 that is really hurtful scene when I see the baby die at birth and then got turn into the zombie. That make me really hurt at heart.
If zombies are goanna run like this we are screwed
Use to have nightmares about this movie when I was little. Running from zombies in the mall 😂😂
You missed a TONS of deaths:
*Ana's husband
*Blond little girl neighbor (offscreen)
*Woman killed by Ana's husband (offscreen)
*Girl inside bus saw by Ana (offscreen)
*Van's Driver that hit the gas station in the panoramic view when ana escapes
*Twitcher killed by CJ
*assian/latino (whatever) eaten by janitor zombie and killed by CJ
*In the garage scene, a few headshots and some other zombies burned down (offscreen)
*A loooot of zombies in the "rescue mission" scene (getting inside Andy's place + CJ/tucker killing spree when escaping)
*tucker killed by CJ
*All the group in the post credits scene.
Aaaaaand: cutting zombie's legs isn't a death you know...
You should put more love in the next death count.
Apparently he ignores zombifications and only counts on-screen deaths
Isn't it unknown whether the group died or not post credit?
Yeah these zombies need headshots, much like the original movie. I also thought the number of zombies CJ blows up with the Propane tank when the bus is overrun was wayyyy higher.
I just worried bout them ending it could be possible they survive ending or not but I I just hope Sarah polley live an survive the movie ending
@@hanzboiii3425 true but the actor they need to know what happened the ending an people make this movie 2004
This movie scared me so much as little kid lmao. Now I'm watching it this movie is pretty dark compared to other zombie movies
It’s really dark but also kinda campy at the same time a really unique movie
6:23 Opening your mouth, while Zombie Blood sprays on your face isnt the best idea.
We need more movies like this.
What bout Sarah polley an her being next zombie sequel did she survive and didn’t get bit
Most of the zombie films today are not that scary as this one. They focus more on visuals of the main characters rather than the flow of the story.
I cant think of a horror movie as good as this to have come out in the last 10 years, can anyone?
I really wish wed get a Dawn of the Dead 2, The Thing 2, another The Mist or a clasic George A Romero of the Dead movie but this aint going to happen.
There are virtually no more artists these days, just passionless technicians working from the short leash of obtuse and sounless corporate managers who care more about trashing men and white preople and promoting angry sweatty femnists than the movies themselves.
Our only salvation is eithet a cultural revolution or AI getting so good at movie making it just kills the indistry and provides everyone with personal request movies with better writing, acting and visuals than any current movie.
I wouldnt bet on either in the next decade.
Things will get far worse before they get any better.
@@AntoniuDraculea There is one supposedly coming out sometime in 2023 probably late October will be my guess but it's called Twilight of the dead but I don't have high hopes for it. Because the last 2 entries were bad imo. Both survival and diary of the dead were both bad and a lot of people would agree with that. I don't see this one being good either if it does come out
I always forget that Ty Burrel was in Dawn of the Dead and Black Hawk down before Modern Family
What do you mean by forget?
He was also in The Incredible Hulk where he played Betty’s boyfriend who’s a head-shrink (which is slang for a psychiatrist).
One of my favorite zombies movie.
@Mark Lynn I do, this movie traunatized me, I watched it at the mall, around a lot o people, so you know
So, the neighbor girl at the beginning and her boyfriend didn't die?
Obviously they count as being dead
But sad blonde women her pony tail lost girl and man she love to but I hope she survive if she an other thee survivors to
@@tylermatthew349 What the actual fack are you babbling about Bubba?
@@BeastlyGamer I talking bout blonde women and three survivors ending and I hope they make dawn of the dead 2 same sequel from 2004
@@BeastlyGamer sorry I was wondering bout four survivors dog to
You missed a few, Vivian, Ana husband, and Tucker…
So this movie I watched when I was like 10-11 and it traumatized me. . . Every time I heard a siren I heard bells ringing I immediately would think this is it! Zombies are attacking!
Years later it’s one of my favorite movies 😂😂👏🏽
Whoops what about all the deaths during the credits
Yea but shame and everyone is dead the ending disappointed because they didn’t want to make another sequel of this movie
@@tylermatthew349 they made a remake ( 2 in fact )of Day of the dead.Ving Raimes is in it actually. And I think there's a day of the dead series too
@@adriennereyes5405 but what bout the four survivors and how that same sequel it old movie from day of the dead
@@tylermatthew349 beats me as fast as I'm concerned the 🐕 Chips was the only survivor in the Dawn of the dead remake
@@adriennereyes5405 but are they gotta make dawn of the dead 2 and someone told me he or she said they might continue making this story flim movie zombies of course the sequel and I remember he she said they mostly not confirmed dead yet and four survivors to
I really enjoyed this movie, the action sequences and characters were well written and capable. I felt this film also had a supernatural undertone to it, never really going into explaining the origin of the zombies. But rather having the characters rationalize it to themselves the best way they can.
The shot at 9:12 wasn’t in the original version. It never showed him checking his arm, and the zombies never got into the pier. They must have digitally altered the scene later or re-shot it
In Netflix it's the original the director's cut is other.
@@patrickfloresenciso526 Netflix? I've never found it o_O
pretty good for 2004 film ngl
7:35 I like the black guy because he's like dang
This movie gave me hella nightmares as a kid, such a great movie
forgot the scene where Lewis got bit technically that's a death also
Gggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg
6:59 holly 💩 that was so brutal
Para mim, esse continua sendo o melhor filme zumbi da atualidade, equiparado com o clássico "A noite dos mortos vivos" muito bom também! Vejo sempre!!!!
This and HOTD4 kept me up at night
Would've been quicker to just show quick clips of everyone in the world
5:11 Baby Zombie
Non capisco come mai non facciano più film di zombie del genere come questa fantastica pellicola del 2004,erano migliori sia graficamente, sia per la trama i film di zombie dei primi anni 2000 rispetto a quelli moderni.
Credo ci siano delle eccezioni, mi viene in mente Train To Busan come esempio relativamente recente.
oops, their little girl in the beginning, dies to become zombie #1.. the husband then dies after being attacked by his daughter and he dies becoming #2 death,, etc
That was the neighbor’s kid
@Uthar2010 I didn’t notice
Sad she got bit an infected to
No it was not the neighbors girl was named Vivian

1 minute in and I see you've missed at least 2 deaths. Annas husband, various background deaths, and the truck crashing into the gas station and exploding. Guaranteed game over there.
Poor Tucker
The first one gave me nightmares as a kid, the day of the dead, but this one really carried the torch well. My kids have watchbzombie movies since being in their cribs lol. My son was one and a half saying shoot them in the head lol!
The first kill was actually at the beginning when Anna's husband got bitten by the zombie girl from next door.
I seen zombies this intense when I was 10 years old
I never noticed but you can see the island they’re going to in the last seen
Esse filme e muito top cara eu amei esse filme

Watch this film when vietnam have vcd player , i was 13 at that time and it still scared me now, now i am 30.
5:12 for some reason this death is funny lol.
When they remake this again I doubt it'll stand up to the deaths in this one. Especially the camera filter they used.
This is one of the only few movies that scares me
u missed the first scene with the dad getting his neck ripped out
A baby zombie would be harmless tho, they got no teeth 😂
Una de las mejores películas de zombies de la década, aún sigo esperando la continuación en la Isla 🏝️
En los creditos se ve que llegan a la isla pero esta llena de zombies y mueren todos

Pass me the welding mask!
Every one everything run soooooooooo fast
They could easy surviive if that girl didnt act like a childish with his puppy
I hoping for Sarah polley survive because she could be last survivor
Fun Fact: Did you guys know that George Romero actually helped with the screenplay of this film? He's mentioned in the beginning credits which is nice. I found this out a long time ago when I watched the making of dawn of the dead bonus feature on the DVD.

“His first name is Agent.” Agent Phil Coulson of SHIELD.
So you don't put the very first on-screen death in the movie? Lol
You forgot Louis at the very Beginning he was a human before he could killed
