Over the counter mould cleaners usually contain chlorides. These chlorides create salt contamination of wall plaster stay away. Use white vinager solution. Also mould will not grown on contamiated wall plaster from rising damp as u suggested, this will hold chlorides and nitrates from the ground. Mould grows exclusively in clean water sources.
What a lot of people do not realise is that with an extract fan pulling air out of any room you need to have the same amount of air to replace it, ie, a form of ventilation, window, open door. This will create a negative pressure in the room and prevent odours or steam spreading round your house. Usually a 15 to 20 minute over run is beneficial once you have finished what ever you are doing. Our cooker hood is on low setting most of the time actually and we have the log burner floor vent or usually a small bedroom window cracked open, keeps fresh air trickling through the house.
i live in a 1 bed studio apartment and i have got mould in my front room and bedroom a lot of draft from both sides of the properties , and whoever i put the heating on it’s good but when i turn it off because of the draft it just goes back to being cold again after about an hour or so
Very informative and well presented, however the advice on the containers with the crystals will only help drain your wallet so save time and money and purchase a dehumidifier with a laundry mode especially if your a tenant as you will struggle more than most with mould issues due to bad landlords. Things are changing very slowly regarding regulations mainly due to the death of Awaab Ishak.
I almost died from black mold ! Caused flu like symptoms 5yrs and ultimately dvts, over 20 pulmonary embolism in lungs, after 5yrs recovery, much better now thankfully! Now I'm trying to take home back, completely gutted need to no what kills spores before I rebuild inside
Very informative and well presented but I am very sorry to see you support Chelsea. Also UA-camr Charlie DIY did a good video on mould and condensation.
Well done Georgina. This is a brilliant, straightforward, and simple explanation of the causes and remedies of condensation damp. Your explanations avoid making the "perpetrator" feel blamed. I shall share this video with my housing association colleagues. On another note: The only thing that I have an issue with; is the Chelsea training top which is contaminating your drying rack! I'm sure you will agree that no right thinking person would want to see something like this lurking in their home? Have you tried a strong bleach to kill off these types of unwanted irritants? Maybe fire is the answer? :)
Hi, most helpful in all the risks in the home. We have it in two rooms, which I think, are very cluttered and there's no space in and around the furniture. I presume this can be a big factor? Also, the paint that can be used, is there a recommended tin?
Yes I think so as air flow is helpful and the more clutter there is the more places the more surfaces there are for mould to grow on. This is a paint option www.amazon.co.uk/Dryzone-Mould-Paint-1L-Brilliant/dp/B0821N1XY9?crid=2P2ZSBH54Y70K&keywords=anti+mould+paint&qid=1670852826&sprefix=anti+mould+pa,aps,414&sr=8-3-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9hdGY&psc=1&smid=AQY03UMMYCSSB&linkCode=sl1&tag=gbisby-21&linkId=8714d42a484fb892c2446b2e94ad65a4&language=en_GB&ref_=as_li_ss_tl
Great video ...but mold is a livng thing and it is embedded in cracks and crevices and these products must kill all mold or it will come back..most do not work .......but its worth trying ....ALSO you have to stop the source of water? leak ? gutterings blocked? taps ? The source is an easy fix
Fact is once you have mould you can’t get rid of it. It will always come back except if you get someone Professional looking at it or smash down the wall.

This girl is a brilliant presenter
Would it have anything to do with her relation, who also has the gift of the gab! 🤣
Better known by her Ancient Egyptian name Nepotism the 1st?
Thanks for the info black mould can be really difficult to get rid of and can cause serious respiratory issues
You are welcome : )

Informative and reassuring, thank you!
Brilliant presentation. Every aspect was covered.
But honestly where did you learn to speak so fast?
Ha ha - thanks - hope you could still understand!

Poor you - I'm glad you're better now. Mould definitely needs to be taken seriously.
Super great advice thank you lady

Ha ha, we actually don't - the boys just train at the academy! It's Liverpool and Arsenal in this house if that's any better?
Very interesting and helpful, thank you.
😶 what in the world. I have to go back and listen again, it was so fast and sound quality was low. Sounded like lots of great tips though. Thanks
Superb helpful advice

Have you seen or used yet Glixtone mould paint yet?
Not tried it - is it good?
@@GeorginaBisbyDIY yes. Does what it says on the tin..is recommended by the NRLA too. I've reviewed it. Also been using it today.
Should you open the windows in the winter? Does that not let moisture in?
It depends on the humidity levels outside but in general air circulation helps
Cold air carries less moisture.
Where are the remedies ? nothing but causes, only granules , made sure you saved the container around.
