I've been ITCHING to talk about Aeons and Pathstriders and possible future gameplay mechanics so here's a bundle of my own thoughts: - Sampo *definitely* seems like he would walk the path of, or even be/become an emenator of Elation- Aha's philosophy of Hedonism lines up perfectly with his character, and not to mention Aha likes to break the 4th wall in the SU, and so did Sampo at the end of the Belobog storyline. - Aha making Herta an emmenator of Elation is the *exact* thing an Aeon like Aha would do. Making someone who vehemently *hates* you and everything to do with your path and turning them into your Emanator just to get a rise out of her would be comedy gold for Aha. - Other than follow-up attacks and counters, another possible gameplay mechanic with an Elation path could be "randomness"- Elation resonance deals follow-up damage of a random type, and it would be kinda hysterical to have, say, an Imaginary Elation character sometimes deal Fire damage or something. Would make for interesting gameplay. - Currently, the 7 paths all correspond to classic rpg "classes", but we're currently missing another popular trope/class: Crowd Control, and with the way the Remembrance works in SU, this is likely the gameplay niche it would fill - a focus on Freezing, Slowing, Entangling, and Imprisoning enemies, delaying or even outright skipping their actions, with Effect Res shred debuffs and Effect Hit rate buffs to increase their chances of being inflicted.
On your second point, since Herta is already an emanator of Nous, it’ll be an absolute riot to see her also become an emanator for Aha. Wonder if it’ll fish out a reaction from Nous too. Funny factor aside Herta would be absolutely stacked.
The problem with Sampo is that, he is already playable and has the path of Nihility which is very confusing. Maybe it's just gameplay purposes but it's not a coincidence right? Sure they can make alts for units like him since Dan Heung has one. But imo that's because he is a "Main Character" Sampo doesn't really strike as a main character. To put it, sampo isn't much of a protagonist nor a good guy but represents a tad bit of being a villain/a bad guy.
We do actually have the Trailblaze powers, when first visiting jarilo Dan Heng says something along the lines if you select it's not so cold(or something similar) "the power of the Trailblaze allows us the better adapt to harsh environments"
Personally, I like the idea of Remembrance extending/refreshing the duration of buffs on your allies or debuffs on enemies. Maybe they can also give buff removal resistance, for when we inevitably get enemies that remove your buffs. "Remembering" your buffs, if you will. And if we're going by statuses that FGO has but Star Rail doesn't, might add Buff Block as well. Maybe that could be something for the Elation, almost like a prank of sorts. For the other paths, Enigmata could create illusions, apply confusion(/domination like Kafka), grant invisibility, stuff like that. Equilibrium could do something like life share, although I don't think that kind of mechanic would be very useful in HSR. The Voracity could have some kind of life drain/life steal mechanic, heal based on damage dealt. Finality could reverse effects, I guess? Although that's currently the job of Abundance, so idk about that one. Maybe it could refund skill points or something?
Now thinking about it, the beauty path could be similarly to preservation in away. Instead the shields would be aimed at reflecting damage. Beauty > mirrors > reflection. For example: ally A is protected by a shield for 1 turn but nullifies damage up to 3 times, for each instance of damage taken by an enemy, the number of negation will reduce but reflect a % of the damage back to the enemy. Once the negation turns to zero before ally’s A turn, the shield will disappear. I think there’s a curio similar to this in the simulated universe-oh record from beyond the sky, it acts similarly to that. A better picture is the robot (that looks like a traffic light), he’s has an ability similar to that idea just without the reflection damage, when it hits you-seconds later it activates a shield that nullifies damage, when you hit it deactivates it. Super annoying against Jing’s Lightning Lord.
It would be hard to make a new playable path as it is tied to character classes. They already covered all roles such as: dmg dealers that specializes in ST, aoe and berserker like playstyle (destruction, the most flexible role), buffers, debuffers (can be a sub dps role like Kafka and Sampo), healers and shielders. I can't think of any additional roles that they can implement in Star Rail. All the traits that you mentioned in the video are already implemented in the game as passives like follow up and counter attacks. A character that can lower effect res or inflict a new status effect can easily fall to the Nihility Path as a built-in passive or an eidolon (like SW E2). Some points are already overlapping on other classes or too weak to be a stand alone role in Star Rail. A new element is a lot probable than creating a new playable path but what they can do is to implement a new path as a blessing in Simulated Universe.
This is a boring answer, but I feel like we’re gonna stick with 7 classes and the characters who are aligned with the rest of the paths are gonna be put into those 7 based on gameplay needs/path similarity. Ex: Sampo is Nihility which is similar to Elation in that they are both ideological versions of nihilism. Same for Preservation and Remembrance which both seek to preserve in some way. Specific path gameplay exploration will be tied to Simulated Universe probably
Ooohh oooh! I have one for remembrance since they can record everything. The gameplay for the remembrance is they can record the past turns of their allies. Like one allies freeze the enemy and the remembrance will attack and paste the past attack of the allies they recorded!
I think the rest of other paths will play roles in the game on less of the "classes" side and more into miscellaneous and extra-utilities of gameplay akin to non-combat features that could potentially run into the game, perhaps could be more lore-tied to upcoming features akin to Teapot in Genshin but tied to exclusive areas to factions associated with external paths of the 11 ones outside of 7 main Aeons Although this could be change if they're going drastic game-altering worldbuilding that can introduces similar utility akin to Dendro to Genshin or how Quantum and Imaginary elements had like 2 years worth of development, it took us wait from early 2019 to late 2021 just for Imaginary element to debut in Honkai Impact to build every facet of lore-reason Also it would be hilarious if Elio turns out to be none other than Captain of Hyperion's alter ego as Ferryman, their similarities are so uncanny that it makes Aeon Aha bursting from laughter, although poor OG Captain is still on near-hiatus from constant travelling to multiverse and saving any girl he could (even he promise to Himeko to not leave her and St.Freya back 5 years ago, only veteran players would know this Honkai Impact event)
Something about the propagation is super interesting to me. I really like the light cone and sim universe event with the Swarm, and love thinking about all these paths we don't know as much about yet. Super excited to learn more as things progress
To anyone watching this video in 2024 and beyond, it is worth noting you do not have to be an Emanator to make use of a path. A pathstrider is someone who Resonates with a path, granting them certain abilities. An Emanator is someone who has been given a sliver of an Aeon's authority over a path. Receiving the blessing of an Aeon does not automatically make you an Emanator. The main example here being the Trailblazer. They are not an Emanator of Destruction nor are they an Emanator of Preservation. Another thing worth remembering is that Paths in Game are not Paths in Lore. Sampo is neither blessed by IX or a follower of Nihility. He is very much a Pathstrider of Elation. Another thing worth remembering is that Paths in
I personally would add Propagation because no character has a good basic attack without some prerequisite. These ideas are pretty obsolete sadly... You can call Topaz and Aveturine Elation characters due to their kit and personality, and the same is with March and Misha with rememberance. With Black Swan they probably just gave her some scrapped wind dot kit because she'd appeal to Kafka fans visually and personality wise.
Although buffs and debuffs are already in the game, it would be interesting if a character on the path of Emanation actually gave an enemy one random buff but all other stats will be severely debuffed. Probably wouldn't sell well in the game but it sounds like an ability a neutral prankster would have, because if the enemy ends up with an attack buff but their defense is debuffed then they could end up being one shot by one of your party members before they could attack however if they survive they could end up killing one of your team in just one or two attacks as well. I really hope we get an Emanation Sampo, he already has a trick to his ult where it looks like he's about to give the enemy a present, only for it to be a bomb that blows up in their face. If March ends up being on the path of Remembrance maybe some of her gameplay will lean more towards the joke that she's Elysia's daughter (or an xp), and whenever she shields a character they'll end up inside of an ice crystal that not only defends them from any attacks but also completely heals them. If someone attacks the crystal they will get frozen automatically regardless if they have an ice weakness, like Luocha who heals you if your health gets to a certain point maybe she'll do this as well.
If akivili is truly dead, do you thimk the trailblazer (or anybody from the express crew) could become the new trailblaze aeon? I mean, aren't some aeons supposedly transcendent from mortals?
I am a relatively new subscriber to your channel but your content has been right up my alley! I would love to see your concepts for these paths be implemented to the game. I did a lore concept video about the Aeon of Voracity - Oroboros, but I am curious what you think about a possible Path of Voracity would look like in the game. The Voracity i think would probably A) deal DMG to allies to strengthen the one dealt to the enemy B)have life steal Both aspect would rapresent one's will to devour everything

Interesting, I never actually even thought that they might add another playable path (I mean I guess Genshin did) I just thought "What characters are we going to get on the paths and elements we have" since there could be 49 character combinations with what we already have. I did not stick with Genshin past that first month because it didn't fit me as well as HSR has. Will be cool to see what comes.
I thought that one of the paths could take a summoner role, not sure which path that’ll take though. It’ll summon two allies to help them fight in battle, like the Automaton Grizzly’s Detonation Order, or the Disciple of SM’s Mara-Summon. But I’m not sure how it’d work. The summoned allies can act as meat-shields, damage dealers, or even healers.
Topaz is leaked to have this very mechanic, she summons a trotter named Zhang Zhang to fight for her, but she's currently in the game files listed as a Hunt character, and her 4* light cone is a preservation cone. Would be a cool way to introduce a new path though

"There's some merit to what they're saying. The DoT-focused Path in SU was once Propagation, but it changed to Nihility in CBT3, which either implies they have something else planned for Propagation, or they thought it didn't "fit" the SU setting. To be clear, the blessings of Propagation and the resonance in CBT2 were basically the same as they were in CBT3, they just changed the presentation and Aeon."
Toughness breakers? Lessened raw DMG but increased Toughness DMG. Even capable of damaging Toughness outside of their own Element. Upon Toughness break, inflict every status break linked to the Paths within team members. (Dunno, random idea. Don't even know what Aeon would fit that)
Honkai only has 4 elements as far as I know (coming from a honkai player) : Physical, Fire, Ice and Lightning, and even then Physical isn't classed as Elemental Dmg. I think I'm right but someone please tell me if I misunderstood smthn

Path of Finality is gonna be so dope and somewhat broken if it were to become a playable path
