- Until Dawn is a title that's earned some respect among horror fans. It's one of the best games of the PS4 era with its presentation, writing, and overall breadth of outcomes while also helping establish Supermassive Games as a major developer.
Though it's been relegated to the previous generation with no hope of an upgrade or remaster, Sony is giving it the remake treatment. Launching on October 4th for PS5 and PC, Ballistic Moon's Until Dawn rebuilds the title from the ground up on Unreal Engine 5, retaining the core story while adding many new features.
The visuals have received multiple improvements, like injury mask updates for more realistic cuts and bruises and improved textures and animations. I just think it shouldn't cost the price of a new game
It basically is a new game for people who haven’t played it. There should be like a 50% discount for those who already own the original tho.
@@lancer8325No, that's a stupid idea. In that case it would literally be cheaper to buy the original (for 9.75$) and the remake for 35$ (half of 70$). So it would cost 45$ to buy the remake AND the original, but 70$ to buy the original standalone 🤦
EDIT: If you don't know, the game was on 50% sale all the time, but even if we count full price (20$) it would still be cheaper to get both

I've wait almost 9 years for it to come to PC. What's one or two more while I wait for a good-enough sale? I waited out The Quarry and got that one for a really good rate. Just takes patience to wait out the starving dog.
Hope this remake proves Ballistic Moon can carry on the Supermassive Games torch going forward

Good game. I'd recommend anyone who hasn't played it before should pick it up it's worth it. However, I won't be picking it up as I beat it, and once ya get through the story, there really isn't any point in experiencing it a 2nd time.
I have never played the original, never watched a playthrough, and have no idea what happens in terms of the story. I completely missed out on this game. Now that a Remake of it is happening seems like a perfect time for me to finally play it.
I was very much looking forward to this, till I saw it was full price 😂.
If you haven't played it though, should be worth it though.
Maybe it will be worth getting, when it's on sale.

Feels like a bit of a cash grab. As I have played it a few times, I won’t be buying it as know what happens with the story
Until dawn walked so dark pictures anothology could run. This game was cool on the ps4, and got the platinum for it. Here's hoping the remake improves on the original.
😂 it doesn't need to be improved they ruined the lighting go watch the snowball fight in the original so much better this new one gives the sunset vibe to it and it doesn't look good it's a waste of money.
Maybe it's just me, but out of all the supermasive games, i cared most about who lived or died in Until Dawn. Seemed every game after I cared less and less about who lived or died. The other games are good, yet the most interesting and likeable Chars are still in Until Dawn. I platinumed Until Dawn yet haven't in the rest quite yet.

why isnt this game getting the ten dollar upgrade treatment like mk11 , the uncharted games spiderman and others especially if its the EXACT SAME GAME character and plot wise ? this is almost as ridiculous as the price of the ps5 pro
This should be another one of those $10 upgrades if you already own the game. $60 is a stretch for new graphics on a game that really didn't need a remake
I may have been willing to pay $10 to get better graghics, but since I own the game and it doesn't really need an upgrade, I'm not wasting $60 for such a small change.

It sounds like it has got a lot to offer first time players, but Until Dawn veterans, not so much. Until Dawn Bloodrush on PSVR was FAN TASTIC!
Impatient was odd. Feels it needed to go more indepth or just be longer to tell what caused the events of Until Dawn.

Dumb cash grab. Original was made with the killzone engine. It looked good enough and it was just a movie game.

We just played through the original game on our PS5 and it's a little bit baffling that this game was chosen as a candidate for the remaster (remake?) treatment. It still looks very good and runs at 60 fps on the PS5. I could see it being improved with some dualsense support, but that's really it. Also, the little recap FMVs that play before you start a new chapter look pretty awful. But the core of the game really didn't need to be touched, in my opinion.

I’d like to play this new version of Until Dawn on PS5, but it should’ve been a £10 upgrade. £60 is a tough pill to swallow when there’s so much coming out in Oct. Silent Hill 2, Life is Strange Double Exposure, and a bunch of 4K films I want. This won’t be priority.

Bro its only available for ps4. Thats the whole reasoning. Bringing it to pc will increase its lifespan and ensure people 10 years in the future are still able to easily access and play the game.

I never played it the first time around so I’m excited about getting to try it out. But, I am going to wait until the price drops. $60 just feels like a bit too much for what it is.
I prefer the look of the Decima engine tbh, a bit sick of U5 games, they all look very.....samey.
Way too expensive, I'm playing the original now and it holds up well. I tried to play it at the time but it made my og PS4 fly better than a boeing plane. Playing it now on PS5 gives me no reason to get the remake.

I really want the game but I am furious that I need a PSN account to get the remake on Steam. I don't even own a PlayStation. I don't know why Sony chose to require a PSN account to get the remake on Steam. Is there another way to get the game without the PSN account

They're limiting potential sales by requiring PC users to have a PSN account. A lot of PC'ers don't have Playstation, so there's that.
I think the whole point of Sony bringing playstation games to pc is to show shareholders that the psn userbase is increasing.
If there's no difference, then there's no point for them to bring it to pc

I am a PC gamer and I never heard of this game. I bought it right after seeing this video. Nice GFX for me on my RTX4090 and a great storyline and acting👊
This game is a masterpiece...one of the best games of all time!!
I like horror games. Alan Wake 2 was pretty fun, only the storyline and acting were less fun. Until Dawn appeals to me much more, much better storyline and acting. So I can't wait to play the game. I'm also going to like Silent Hill 2 a lot, only that will take another year before it is released on the PC. I did play it on the PS2 in the past, but that was a long time ago👊@@Smoovey

Yet again gamingbolt f**ks up the video, by giving inaccurate information, the camera has been reworked from the ground up and is fully third person like what you get in resident evil 2 remake, they have completely gotten rid of the fixed camera angles, and this comes straight from the studio who is doing this remake, I always love how gamingbolt f**ks up these videos by not doing the proper research.

Since you never played it, it's DEF worth the buy...it's a masterpiece. However, I'm very optimistic that SH2R will be a masterpiece too, despite all the bias fans have over the OG.
The only thing you need to know is that it's not old a game being re-painted, and if there's any fundamental change at all, it's likely DEI elements.

Sequel lost all horror for me even on highest difficulty due to being able to leave the area just to come back with better weapons to kill the monsters

I feel like this should be a DLC and not an entirely new game. If they offered this as a $9.99 upgrade, I would grab it. But to pay for the same game is a bit too steep IMO. I love the game but not enough to pay another $70.
