Read the TED caption and the context of him sharing his history made a heap more sense, then the name clicked. I had no idea what a powerhouse he is behind Beyonce’s success. This is a person with true passion
I didn't either, this is really good.
watched, yes as you said it would be!
That was very interesting, indeed.
So true. Nicely said.
Your video is quite good my friend, I liked it a lot, you have a super channel
This man is 🔥🔥🔥 y'all don't even understand what kind of life this man has led, truly he is a legend.
I've discovered that, during this whole thing, that smoking a joint going for a nice long walk listening to Ted talks is incredibly satisfying. And nearly free.
WTF?
Well this is quite the journey, humble beginnings, first in so many schools, created Destiny's Child, father of Beyonce and dealt with his own Cancer. Each destination keeps this man pretty calm, collected and connected to a higher power and passion. Yes yes, its all about the journey
and.. watched thanks for sending. Though I did google him. But media stories are often not true these days, he seems like a decent guy.
I really resonated when he said that some people just won’t see your vision. If an idea is too far outside of people’s comfort zone, it will be pushed to the side or disregarded. Sometimes the world needs to catch up to you rather than you always appeasing the world.
I get that, I think because people aren't really hearing each other!
“You can’t give it all unless you are passionate about it”. So very true
When he said, "I'm excited about hearing what I'm going to talk about." lol so cute!! Made him instantly likeable.
hmm, really?
There is some real deep life experience here, it is like listening to wisdom from my grandpa. Wholesome and needed
except it's BEYONCE!!! DAD!
This man has achieved so many incredible things... the fact that he's attributing it all to plain old hard work gives me a little hope.
never heard of him until now.
I like that he's open enough to talk about his mistakes as well as his successes! That part kind of gets glossed over in a lot of TED talks but realistically you don't normally get one without the other
It is the journey. So very true. All we have is this moment here and now. We might have goals and hopes, dreams and aspirations, but we are only living here in this moment now. So much can be lost if you are only focusing on the goal.
A truly impressive demeanor, I can tell he operates by feeling things out and that makes him very relatable and admirable that he's had such success.
Beautiful advice from someone who has accomplished so much
finally watched thanks for sending to me!
He's definitely had an incredible journey that's for sure!
agree
Great opening with being present and acknowledging the people in the room. Not scripted and polished. A man with a story, where he came from and how he got here. His family has grown and continues to grow legacy.
Be the best you can be! So true as on a daily basis my only competitor is me. As far as my passion goes, well "when you live your passion you never work a day in your life" Thank you Mr Knowles
Seriously, this is a guy that should know, you can't argue with what he created.
So many quotable moments in this.
Pretty amazing story, he's never been to an African American school, being one of the first in grade school and university. I guess being one of the first in the educational process taught him even more about how this world works and how you have to work it. There's something about showing up in life, that gives you life.
This should be taught in school, thank you Mathew.
Excellent Matthew Knowles , Bravo 👏
Awesome speech!
I get it and appreciate his thought process. It's hard out there and he makes some really good points.
Losing truly helps you win.
This guy is good, love this talk!
10:09. And that dab
He reminds me of Les Brown, but in a more natural way.
How has this not got more views?
10 traits
Dedication is number 1....
Beyonces dad!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think I need to re-watch this a few times because I'm not too sure what the traits are?
I thought I was the ONLY one. 🤔
👏🏽
I can’t believe the crowd. 😪
He made the journey, but never reached the destination.
1% success rate…1%. That is sinking in and hitting hard
what is considered "highly" successful these days?
Dang, I had a feeling he was related to Beyonce. Totally forgot at first!
ok
i did not hear 10 traits. i heard. one. good talk though
b sounds southern compared to him
mmmm- title is a bit misleading. Great message, just less practical advice and more life advice.
I wish he had talked about his daughter Beyonce, and everything that went on. Maybe thats not TED material but it's what everyone wants to know.
I'm sorry but I do not vibe with him being like 'I only decided what I'm going to talk about five seconds ago' Either you're lying, or you're disrespecting the people who have come to see you by putting in zero preparation.
This is the most boring guy I’ve ever had to listen to
😜😜😆😆😝😝
