hi will gooods i buy for stock be allowable expenses as i make sometimes small sometimes bigger percentage on stuff and will postage costs count as that takes up 10-20 percent straight away usually

So I need some help. I got Labour work on the 18th of may. They didn’t really ask any questions or talk about pay. Turns out I need to apply for a UTR number which is quite confusing since I’m not sure if I’m self employed or not. I get payed through a payroll company called bar 2 which requires a UTR. I got the job through bespoke construction does that mean I’m self employed or not? Do I apply for self assessment or self employment?

Yes seems like you are working as Self Employed so you will need to submit a Self Assessment Tax Return , this way you will inform HMRC about the income you had and see how much tax you need to pay, of claim back if you been paying tax in advanced. Normally in construction as Self Employed you need the UTR number to be activated as CIS and you will get taxed 20% in advance. But we can help you claim any overpaid tax back. I can’t fill your form out because it won’t let me put my email address in correctly which is all lowercase. The form only allows capitals. How do I get round this?

There is no difference at all whether you type your email in only capital, only lower case letters or a combination. The form is created to be able to understand whatever you type as long as it's written in the correct syntax.

So far this company has not produced. I paid £30+ to get my utr number fast tracked. They said within 10 days. Forms were completed on the 16th of June. 13 working days later and nothing. As a result I still can’t get paid for the work I done. I do not recommend anyone paying these people

Hi, I am sorry for the experiance you had. We do our best to have the UTR application submitted to HMRC and once they have it, it is up to HMRC to issue the UTR number and it normally does take 10 working days.
