Alsoo lmaoo the part where u said tell your kids to stop yelling I felt that. I’ll be recording and my family starts arguing or the dogs start barking and Im like for why 😭😭😭😭
This video helped me SO MUCH!! I am new to this whole voice over, work from home thing. Im really excited about it. THANK YOU for sharing. I will not hesitate to ask questions. Take Care!
Never mind I actually figured out my white noise problem had come from my eq set to bring higher frequencies up I decided to check out after watching your vid . Thanks man
Totally just recorded some great vocals and didn't notice the static noise until I went to edit and noticed the gain was so high which is what caused it.. This is helpful - thanks for the Plugin tips izotopes. What mic stand is that for the Sm7B?? Thank you!! :)
Great, thanks for this! I videotaped an outdoor play with dialogue only, but there was an intermittent A/C unit kicking on. I got some of the hum out with Logic EQ plugins and the AUFilter. It was fun experimenting. I prerecorded just the sound of the A/C. How exactly do you determine what the frequency is? Anyway, I'm sure the Izotope RX plugin would work better at removing the A/C noise...I just don't want to buy it for this one project.
Hello Charles! I have also the sm7b microfone with ssl2 interface. I am wondering, how I can reduce the background noise when recording. Its totally silent in my room and I also have bastoect absorber around my recording area. Still there is a little noise, rustle in the background. Do you know how I could reduce that when recording?
What do you do when it's a finished old recording from a Cassette Tape and the same hiss sits on top of the entire thing? When you don't have the individual tracks? When there's an inch of hiss sitting on top of the entire recording?
Hey Charles👍😎 Thanks for your tutorials! I’m just starting out , I’m using Logic Pro… when I watched your beginners tutorial, where you are using Logic Pro X, as I follow along, I do not have the same buttons on screen, …so I get stuck at certain points. Do you do an absolute beginners tutorial for Logic Pro? I know it sounds silly, and I know they are probably the same but Logic Pro is latest( I 🤔)… but just thought I’d ask☺️ Your very thorough, and I appreciate that so much… especially because I’m a ‘newbie’…. All the best! Jacqueline
Hi Jacqueline, thanks for following along to my tutorials. It could be that some of my youtube videos were made before Logic has made some major updates. Logic is always releasing new updates to improve the software. I'd take a look at some of my online courses if you want a thorough approach to learning Logic Pro and making music: charlescleyn.com/courses-bundle
do you mean you can hear it in the background behind your vocal? I think what you're referring to hear is headphone bleed. Your mic is actually picking up the instrumental that's being played out of your headphones. I would try turning down the headphone volume when you sing. However, a little bit of headphone bleed is fine.
I think mine is coming from my mic like my interface is like lowkey acting up and picking up more fuzz then usual or idk😭😭😭. Sadness bc Ima have to just deal with this noise 🥲 bc I can’t cut it out without killing it like u sais 🥲 even with the noise gate 😭😭😭.
Okay comment #3 why is my recording have a latency problem. Like I was trying to record over something and it was one sounding super slow and two I couldn’t hear it through my head phones 🥲
Thanks dude, My ways of solving background noise is different. I take my foot off the cats rail and try not to kick the dog as hard, which somehow keeps the wife from screaming at me. Whatever works I guess.

Quite helpful thank you.
What about like white noise or hiss is that something that can be muted with these tact?
Sometimes when I record in my home studio and I solo my vocal track I can still hear the instrumental how would I remove it?
