Have been an Epiphone enthusiast for years. I have owned and played Gibsons and love them, but Epis just consistently punch above their weight and deliver. I personally think that right now Epiphone is producing quality, affordable guitars that will eventually will be looked back upon as a low budget "golden era".

Robert, I have always been a huge fan of Gibson Guitars, but because of your videos I have become just as big a fan of Epiphone Guitars. I love how unbiased your reviews are and your wide range of musical ability for just as wide a range of musical genres makes it easy for anyone who is seriously in the market for any of the gear that you demonstrate to determine whether or not a particular piece of gear is right for them without ever having played the piece of gear in question and that is a skill set that these companies should be compensating you for my friend, because for all of the guitars hanging up on the wall and all of the amplifiers, effects devices and peripheral goodies that go with with them that anyone can pick up, plug up and play with down at GC or other music stores, your demonstrations deliver the selling points in crystal clear form, as well as the way you verbally articulate your take on each piece of gear that you demonstrate. You have become my #1 "go to" guy when it comes to deciding if a certain piece of gear is right for me, having never actually touched the gear myself and that level of trust is an earned level of trust. You rock my friend and I LOVE that JC Epiphone Les Paul!!! 🎸❤🤘💯

Here are the specs of a 2019 Epiphone exclusive deluxe limited run Sg Pro G 400..as you see nothing cheaply done on this model and it was crafted the same exact way as the Kalamazoo 1961 Sgs this model is also era correct it's hard to find in honey burst color but they do pop up on the used market once in a while..I found mine on the used market in 2022 on the used market and paid $650.00 for it and it was worth every cent.. I've seen this model sell as high as $700.00 and as low as $500.00 depending on the seller..I will not part with it......Classic 60s Era "Solid Guitar"
The G-400 Deluxe PRO is inspired by the first generation of SGs made in the 1960s at the legendary Gibson and Epiphone factory in Kalamazoo, Michigan that produced the Les Paul and the Casino. The SG model was originally intended to replace the Les Paul, which temporarily went out of production from 1961-1968. The new G-400 Deluxe PRO is constructed using the same dimensions and build techniques as vintage SGs and features a AAA Flame Maple Veneer top with a Mahogany body and neck with a comfortable 1960's SlimTaper 'D' profile and a 24.75" scale length. The Pau Ferro fingerboard has single ply binding with pearloid Trapezoid inlays, 22 medium jumbo frets, a 12" radius, and an adjustable truss rod with a 'bell' cover.
Alnico Classic PRO Humbuckers with Coil Splitting
The G-400 Deluxe PRO is powered by Alnico Classic PRO humbuckers made with Alnico-V magnets, which produce a slightly higher output especially in the mid and highs. Each pickup has it own Volume and Tone control with full-size potentiometers along with Epiphone's rugged, all-metal, 3-way toggle pickup selector switch for long-lasting performance. Both pickups are also wired for coil-tapping. By pulling up the pickup's volume knob, the humbucker will switch become a "single-coil" pickup, allowing players an infinite variety of tones from single-coil bark to full humbucker bite.
When winding humbuckers, Epiphone utilizes a double vacuum waxing process that ensures quiet operation free from microphonic hum. The pickup is first placed in the specialized wax vacuuming system before the cover is placed on the unit to ensure that the wax fully penetrates to the very center of the pickup and solidifies all parts. After the cover is placed on, it is again given a second vacuum wax bath until the unit is completely saturated with wax. Epiphone also uses high quality ABS plastic bobbins, 1010 Cold Rolled Steel pole shoes and pole screws, the finest magnet wire available.
    Solid Epiphone Hardware
The G-400 Deluxe PRO features gold hardware on the Honeyburst, Trans Blue, and Trans Red color finishes and all G-400 Deluxe PROs come with a LockTone bridge and Stopbar tailpiece for incredible sustain as well as Wilkinson Vintage Classic Machine Heads with a 18:1 turning ratio.

Gibson does use veneer and lots of it..,..Gibson's semi-hollowbodies like the ES-335 and ES-339 have tops and backs constructed of layers (either 3 or 4) of maple veneer. My understanding is that the veneers are assembled in successive cross-grain layers with the top layer having its grain longitudinal to the length of the guitar. The tops and backs are approximately 1/4" in thickness after layup.

Love my epiphany Adam jones berserk edition, plays like my Schecter diamond series(Lundgren M6) LP and my LTD EC1000 series(Fishmans), but the bridge pickup(Duncan Distortion) is my favourite sounding of them.

Love this JC epi! I played one at a local Music Go Round. Took everything I had to walk out without it. Amazing guitar!! I wouldn’t have had I not just bought a new guitar a few days earlier.

Hey Robert, I hope you see this comment out of the couple hundreds. Thank you for staying patient and continuing to be a pocket of positivity in guitar-UA-cam. I speak for a lot of people when I say I've admired everything you've done for the community and on your channel. You're a real hero in my book.
As for the Sweetwater Saturdays, I only enter to get the guitars for my family and friends. I think as far as Les Paul's go, I (personally) would prefer the Adam Jones silverburst or the Marty Friedman cracked mirror. Otherwise, I'm sure this LP is a great guitar, as you mentioned, and a perfect fit for some viewers.
    Cheers.

I have tried one of these and it was pretty awesome. The snob in me just needs to get over the 'Epiphone thing' - i actually saw Jerry play one of these at his show in SFO last year and it sounded great in a live setting

I think Jerry Cantrell is one of the most underrated guitarists ever. Great riffs, great solos and incredible back up vocals, such a vital ingredient to Alice in chains. I love his new signature guitars epecially his wine red custom but the prophecy version is insane too. I love the blinding white of the paint job! Such a great guitar

I don’t know how anyone can complain about a give away, Robert is one of the most refreshing, genuine enthusiastic player/creator on UA-cam. That epi would make a killer give away.

I would certainly like this to be a give away guitar (first thing I did was look for the link). I don't have much attraction to the vintage style Les Pauls, but I dig all the modern takes - plus I love pickups with options, so I can get different tones while playing without swapping guitars.

I love my Ghost Horse, despite some of the flaws it had. I had to get some fret work done and replace the output jack+plate, but otherwise I really love how it feels it's my current favorite guitar.

Nice guitar. I dig Epi. The Epi Les Paul Modern is one of my most liked guitars I've owned. The asylum neck is probably my fav stock neck. The chambered body is light.

Cantrell is among my very favorite guitarists because he's actually one that influenced me most. His playing was always coming from a dark, almost aggressive place. He isn't afraid to make like Van Halen and get in get out with a memorable solo or lead or riff or all of the above. Two of my favorite jams to lay down when auditioning for a new band are "God Am" and "Again".

  • @AND1ESEL
    @AND1ESEL 3 місяці тому

Can confirm all of the above!! I just got my hands on the last one in my city. It’s insane how well made and put together it is! It’s blown all my old American made Gibson, lp’s outta the water. So much yes on this guitar and I plan to enjoy it for the foreseeable future.
Jerry Cantrell has been a huge influence for me growing up thru the years! So it made so much sense for me to grab this one while I had the chance. Solid 10 outta 10 on this axe, don’t pass it up 🤘🏼😎🤘🏼❤️
Got a new sub from me, very solid insight budd!

Ok, wow. I have the same guitar, purchased from SW, but with the standard Epi hardcase. Doesn't have Jerry's name on it. It's no big deal really, still a great guitar even though I'm not the biggest fan of the Fluence pickups. You're right about the finish, it feels different in that it seems to not have such a thick hard coat of that poly finish. At least that's how it feels. It's got a GREAT neck too.

New to the channel. Working on building a Mockingbird DIY. Going to convert it from bolt-on to set neck. Couldn't find a DIY Mockingbird kit with a set neck, so I'm gonna make my own. Wouldn't mind a chance at a sweet LP like that. People can ruin anything.
