Quick Hack... if you happen to lose the adapter Needed: washer (for screws), 8" lenght of yarn (DK or thinner), small item to hang on the yarn Find a washer with a minimum diameter of 1 cm and a hole that's narrower than the safety eye back. Insert the eye through your work, put the back on the stem, place the washer over the back and stem and then use the tool. 👍 To keep from losing the washer, insert a length of yarn through it and add something to the yarn loop before knotting it into a circle. (For example, a small crocheted square, several pony beads, etc.) The yarn shouldn't affect the use of the tool, so you won't need to remove it. Just make sure the washer isn't close to the diameter of the stem, so the loop of yarn doesn't come into contact with the stem and become frayed. Adapter You could do something similar with the adaptor: after using it, place it on a removable stitch marker, and tie something to the stitch marker (such as pony beads on a length of yarn) to make it easy to find if you drop it. Or, one of those plastic stitch markers that looks like a safety pin would probably do the trick by itself. It's big enough to see if you drop the adaptor on the floor but the adapter would still easily fit into a case/bag for storage.
I bought the festival bundle!❤❤❤ Wow! It's a 457 pg pdf! The content page only lists the design company names, not the pattern name and does not list the pdf page number. 😢 Since the book is so long, I wish it listed the pattern name and page number. FYI Felicity Fox is on page 197. This doesn't include patterns for the corresponding pets. (Those will be available in a later download.) I guess I'll need to create a separate document giving the Pattern names and their corresponding book and page numbers for the dolls and their pets. A little inconvenient, but the dolls are SO cute!❤
Oh goodness! Thanks for letting me know!! I haven't seen the entire bundle all together!! Sounds like it's going to keep you busy for quite some time!!! 😱
This was an eye opener! Bahahahaha!!😂😂😂 It was great to see all the amis and their pets...and poor Dennis! I loved the white rabbit ❤...and trying out their names in Spanish! Very posh 🤩
I crochet and knitt a lots of dolls and I like them safe for all ,I prefer the crochet eye.and the fact that it's crafting the only thing I like is my needles and hooks and sometimes I just use my fingers.
I was looking at this video and was Elise there are some other things their lol 😂 but as I read some of the comments I know you got this 👍🏼 I also brought the summer festival patterns. I can’t wait to make them all. Thanks for the link. i got them for my birthday haha it will be the best birthday gift for me 😁 anyway stay safe and healthy ✌🏼out for now 🙋🏻♀️ I will be happily crocheting 🧶 lol 😂
I think I've been doing it wrong because I put the backs the other way around haha! My last project was a Fairy Penguin and I used buttons instead! They're perfect because the ones I used look exactly like safety eyes, only they can be sewed on! I highly recommend 🐧🐧
This was so much fun to watch ☺️. They are darling patterns! Good job designing such a cute pattern, I’m glad that you actually make and love toys 👍🏼☺️❤️🧶. I do think I will stick with the round nob tool. Keep cool 😎

Have you considered visiting the Northeast (CT *cough cough* for a meet and greet at a local yarn store or convention center? Perhaps something for the future?
@@EliseRoseCrochet it’s a nice state and we are close to both NYC and Boston. And our state is agriculturally historic and have places for the whole fiber arts community. I used to be a docent at a colonial museum and we would teach kids about spinning and weaving.
Hi Elise, is it possible to go a few sizes up with the crochet needle and yarn for an Amigurumi pattern? will the pattern still work, or would it end up being out of proportions? thank you for another lovely video. love your energy!
Hi Elise!!! Long time viewer, I just posting on UA-cam (not sure how but it’s been going really well) I have a new Ami pattern Frederick the Fox haha Felicity and him could be besties!!! Love this video as always 🧶🦊
There is little adapters on that black piece that will help you with the smaller safety eyes as I was watching your video I kept saying there is the adapters there are the adapters LOL
Thank for this video and for introducing many of us to this festival! It’s awesome and u want to purchase the set but it says the pets won’t be available until the 19th after we’ve followed their stories on social media?
It seems like there should be some sort of easy way to make that hole smaller. You might want to take the tool down to your local hardware store and see if they have any suggestions. You might also want to let the creators know they need to make the hole smaller
I ended up finding out (from commenters) that the tool has adapters to make the hole smaller! Wish I had noticed that before I filmed the video! 🫣 I will make another short video showing how to make the hole smaller! ❤️
Hello Elise, those patterns are so cute..It is a shame that it goes only through July 23. Some folks dont always have the money, but i will have to ask if you could give a written list of who contributed? Or if there is one already? ❤
I love the featival designs! Since the costs are in Euros and Dollars, do you know if any of the patterns will be written with UK vs US directions? I assume yours will be in US directions.
As I was watching the video I started telling you there was an adapter on the holder. Pointing “it’s right there!!!” Have you tried it with the adapter? Love Felicity Fox and her friend Dennis!
Hey Elise I wanted to tell you about the frog I'm knitting by Susan b. Anderson its body has a tennis ball inside it so when its tossed it bounces how fun is that!!!
I wonder about the adapters on the black holders. I see you found that out later as your note shows. Are there instructions? I couldn't tell from what you showed of the packaging. If no instructions, that is the real problem.
I don't remember there being any instructions. I also have scoured the website to see if there are instructions anywhere. I still flubbed it up pretty bad! 🫣
I'm making Fred the Turtle 🐢 as a "baby" gift for my cousin's 18-month-old. I've made blankets for each of my younger cousins' kids as they're born. However, for the final kiddo, we've decided to do an amigurumi. I don't want to use safety eyes because of his age, so I'm looking for ideas to replace the eyes on the Fred the Turtle pattern. This will be my first amigurumi. I haven't embroidered in about 40 years, so I'm looking at doing a single crochet circle, but I would appreciate recommendations from others.
I personally tend to struggle with the smaller sized eyes than the big ones since it's harder to get a good grip on them so I don't really see this tool being a game changer or anything, which is unfortunate. Maybe if they made the hole way smaller (or better yet, adjustable)
Another commenter helped me see that there are two little inserts that you place in the hole for smaller eyes. Wish I had known that info before and didn't see anything about it on the website. Based on that, it will work for even the smallest eyes. I will make another video (probably a short) showing that! 👀
Thanks for sharing that information! I have been on their website and I only see one size. But other commenters have shared that the tool comes with adapters for smaller sizes! 👀 I wish that I had seen that before testing it! 🫣
Yes they do! I didn't realize that until I published the video and others commented! I made a pinned comment and will also update with a short video! 👀
@@EliseRoseCrochet Good to know. With some blanket yarn projects I have to resort to embroidering eyes because it is impossible to snap on the safety eyes. If you do a follow-up video about the adapter piece I would love it if you could also do a blanket yarn test. Have a great day!
Sorry for asking but i have no idea how that festival works. Who can participate in it? I guess not everyone. And what exactly can we do? We can only purchase those patters? I would love to learn more information

A little inconvenient, but the dolls are SO cute!❤
Oh goodness! Thanks for letting me know!! I haven't seen the entire bundle all together!! Sounds like it's going to keep you busy for quite some time!!! 😱
Love your Fox family.
Thank you so much! 🦊🦊🦊
This was an eye opener! Bahahahaha!!😂😂😂
It was great to see all the amis and their pets...and poor Dennis! I loved the white rabbit ❤...and trying out their names in Spanish! Very posh 🤩
Haha!! Thank you!!! I'm so glad you enjoyed all the patterns! 🧶🦊🐥🩷
Always nice to have handy tools. Thank you
So true! ❤️
I crochet and knitt a lots of dolls and I like them safe for all ,I prefer the crochet eye.and the fact that it's crafting the only thing I like is my needles and hooks and sometimes I just use my fingers.
Thanks for sharing! 🧶🧶🧶
Thank you!! Happy Birthday!!!! 🎉
@@EliseRoseCrochet aww thank you 😊
I can't pick just one they are so cute. My top three are the cat with the mouse, the mermaid and your fox with the duck.
Thank you so much! There are so many adorable patterns! 🦊❤️🧶🐥🩷
I’m so excited just bought the festival pack!!!!
Awesome!!! ❤️❤️❤️
I also love your new pattern
Thank you! ❤️❤️❤️
So adorable . I love your talent!😊😊😊
Awww! Thank you! 🦊❤️🐥🧶
I think I've been doing it wrong because I put the backs the other way around haha! My last project was a Fairy Penguin and I used buttons instead! They're perfect because the ones I used look exactly like safety eyes, only they can be sewed on! I highly recommend 🐧🐧
Thanks for sharing! 🐧🐧🐧
Awesome 💕
Thanks 🤗
4:23 use the hole on the outside the rubber part pushes the see threw part i think
There are little size adapters!! I totally missed them! 👀
This was so much fun to watch ☺️. They are darling patterns! Good job designing such a cute pattern, I’m glad that you actually make and love toys 👍🏼☺️❤️🧶. I do think I will stick with the round nob tool. Keep cool 😎
Thank you so much, Karen! 🦊 There was some user error on my part and there are little adapters for smaller safety eyes! 👀 Wish I had noticed that before I published the video! 🫣
@@EliseRoseCrochet we all like you anyway😉👍🏼
@@karensample3052 awww, thank you! 🥹
I love this! ❤😊
I'm so glad! ❤️
Maybe you should try using the black band that holds it together. It’s got the smaller piece on it. Looks like that might work for you.
I discovered that there are little size adapters that I didn't even notice on the clip! I made a pinned comment and will be updating with another short video! 🧶🧶
Thank you for testing out the eye tool. I love your fox and duck pattern. Will we be notified about the special pattern bundle that is coming out later this month? There are some lovely patterns in the bundle. Thank you Elise
The pattern bundle is out now! You'll find a link to it in the description box! 🦊❤️🐥🧶
My favorite is the girl with the giraffe. Someday I hope to be able to make these. I want to make ami dollies and foods.
Soooo cute! 🦒
Have you considered visiting the Northeast (CT *cough cough* for a meet and greet at a local yarn store or convention center? Perhaps something for the future?
Haha!! Wouldn't that be fun? I've never been to CT!! ❤️❤️❤️
@@EliseRoseCrochet it’s a nice state and we are close to both NYC and Boston. And our state is agriculturally historic and have places for the whole fiber arts community. I used to be a docent at a colonial museum and we would teach kids about spinning and weaving.
@@22etuthat sounds amazing! 🐑
Thxx :)
You're welcome! ❤️
almost all of the beginner crochet kits i see on amazon come with that tool, never knew what it was hahaha
Thanks for sharing!! 🧶🦊❤️👀
Hi Elise, is it possible to go a few sizes up with the crochet needle and yarn for an Amigurumi pattern? will the pattern still work, or would it end up being out of proportions?
thank you for another lovely video. love your energy!
I do that all the time! It might be slightly off as far as the proportions but it probably won't be noticeable to anyone else! 🧶🧶🧶
Thank you! 😊
Hi Elise!!! Long time viewer, I just posting on UA-cam (not sure how but it’s been going really well) I have a new Ami pattern Frederick the Fox haha Felicity and him could be besties!!! Love this video as always 🧶🦊
Oh how cute!!! 🦊❤️🦊
WHERE YOU GET YOUR PATTERNS FOR YOUR Amigurumi ? They are so cute and real life looking. I love them.
I’m waiting for you to put your snowman puppets on your Etsy shop. ☃️☃️☃️☃️
Thank you!! ⛄️
how about you use a metal washer (the one you would use for bolts and screws) as a buffer between the plastic bit and the gadget? Just an idea...
Other commenters shared that there are adapters on the clip for the small eyes! 👀 wish I had noticed that before I filmed the video! 🫣
Looks like you missed the adapter for smaller eyes. I would definitely buy this!
I totally did!!!! 🫣 I will make another video updating that information!! 👀
i usually sew or dry felt my eyes but i would want this tool incase someone does request something with safety eyes
There is little adapters on that black piece that will help you with the smaller safety eyes as I was watching your video I kept saying there is the adapters there are the adapters LOL
Lol!!! Others shared that and I put a pinned comment sharing the adapters! I will be making an updated video soon! 🧶🧶🧶
Thank for this video and for introducing many of us to this festival! It’s awesome and u want to purchase the set but it says the pets won’t be available until the 19th after we’ve followed their stories on social media?
The pet patterns came out at a later date, but they were included in the bundle price. ❤️
❤❤❤thanks
You're welcome! ❤️
Hello Elise, those patterns are so cute..It is a shame that it goes only through July 23. Some folks dont always have the money, but i will have to ask if you could give a written list of who contributed? Or if there is one already? ❤
Yes! You can go to the website and all the designers are listed there! The individual patterns will be available in six months! ❤️
I love the featival designs! Since the costs are in Euros and Dollars, do you know if any of the patterns will be written with UK vs US directions? I assume yours will be in US directions.
The patterns will be available in English and Spanish and I believe the patterns will be in US terms. ❤️❤️❤️
As I was watching the video I started telling you there was an adapter on the holder. Pointing “it’s right there!!!” Have you tried it with the adapter?
Love Felicity Fox and her friend Dennis!
Ugh! I wish I could have heard you! 😂 I made a pinned comment about the adapters and am making an updated short video! 👀
Hey Elise I wanted to tell you about the frog I'm knitting by Susan b. Anderson its body has a tennis ball inside it so when its tossed it bounces how fun is that!!!
Oh my goodness!!!! That is the cutest idea I've ever heard of!!! 🐸🎾🧶
@@EliseRoseCrochet You didn't flub. No instructions is bad on the product and the company. I mean even Happy Meal toys come with instructions.
I have a whole video about amigurumi eyes that might help: ua-cam.com/video/now77cp3W0E/v-deo.htmlsi=db09xtaMVlb37ky0 👀
Went to the Spoonie Stitcher UA-cam channel and she received 3 sizes . Maybe you received a medium size.
Thanks for sharing that information! I have been on their website and I only see one size. But other commenters have shared that the tool comes with adapters for smaller sizes! 👀 I wish that I had seen that before testing it! 🫣
real one right
i hate hurting my fingers with saftey eyes, so i glye mine on with e600. I think they secure better and i can add eyes with a sewn closed plush
Those are my favorite safety eyes! 👀
I never had a problem with safety eyes, i didnt know others did, but im 21 so maybe its something ill experience down the line
They are sooooo hard for me to get on! 👀
Those 2 pieces that come with the tool do they go in the whole to adjust the size of the whole?
Yes they do! I didn't realize that until I published the video and others commented! I made a pinned comment and will also update with a short video! 👀
I have no hand strength either😢.I found a gadget on etsy I hope I can use.😊
That's awesome! 👏
On your tool there was 2 other pieces if you put one of them on it you will be able to use your smaller backs.
Yes! I saw that after another commenter shared! I have put a pinned video comment sharing that info! 👀
I don't even us that many safety eyes for my projects and I still want one
Haha! It's a really fun tool! 👀
That does come with smaller holes that insert into the hole on the tool
Yes! I put a pinned comment about the adapters! I found out about them from commenters after I published the video! 🫣
Hmmm. I put the safety eye backs on with the curve up rather than down. Is this incorrect or does it matter?
I'm not really sure it matters! I've just always done it that way! 👀
Try the hole in the ruler
Thanks for the suggestion! 🧶🧶🧶
It looks like the tool to install eyelets
Thanks for sharing! 👀
I would be curious to know how these work with chenille and blanket style yarn. This is where I have the biggest issue.
I think it would work amazing with those thicker yarns!! 👀
@@EliseRoseCrochet Good to know. With some blanket yarn projects I have to resort to embroidering eyes because it is impossible to snap on the safety eyes. If you do a follow-up video about the adapter piece I would love it if you could also do a blanket yarn test. Have a great day!
@@lisapettit7403 that's a great suggestion! Thank you!! 👀
Sorry for asking but i have no idea how that festival works. Who can participate in it? I guess not everyone. And what exactly can we do? We can only purchase those patters? I would love to learn more information
I'm sorry that was confusing! The name of the pattern bundle is the Amigurumi Festival! Anyone can purchase the bundle of patterns! ❤️
@@EliseRoseCrochet Thank you so much for explaining. I was really confused actually🤭💕
You should make the bear and the bee for Toni… 😂🐝
What a good idea!!!! 🐝🧸❤️
My daughter's name is Felicity!!
It's such a beautiful name! 🦊🩷🧶🐥
Are the patterns all in English? It looks like the amigurumi festival is mostly in Spanish.
All the patterns are in both English and Spanish! 🦊🩷🧶🐥
Quick question about the pattern bundle…It says in the order that the patterns for the characters pets won’t be available until the 19th…are we able to get them now?
The pet patterns will be delivered at that time. The characters are available now. The price includes all the patterns! 🦊🐥❤️🧶🩷
@@EliseRoseCrochetI love them all and I purchased the bundle last weekend from your email link! Thank you for sharing the Festival with us again this year!
