ALICE COOPER CELEBRATES HIS BIRTHDAY TODAY WITH THE RELEASE OF THE NEW SINGLE “SOCIAL DEBRIS” FROM THE FORTHCOMING ALBUM “DETROIT STORIES”.
FANS WILL GET TO DOWNLOAD THE TRACK FOR FREE WITHIN THE FIRST 24 HOURS AND JOIN ALICE´S BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION.
Today, legendary Alice Cooper celebrates his birthday - and proves he is still one of the best and most relevant rock artists. In celebration, Alice Cooper is releasing “Social Debris” from his upcoming studio album “Detroit Stories” on Thursday night.
The track is released digitally and it is accompanied by an official music video.
To celebrate the special occasion in style, Alice Cooper has decided to offer “Social Debris” as free download for 24 hours on the artist´s official website www.alicecooper.com.
“The single “Social Debris” is a gift to Detroit, to my fans and to myself”, says Alice Cooper. “The track was written by the original Alice Cooper band.
We never thought that we would ever fit in; the Alice Cooper band didn’t fit in with anybody, because we were doing things that no other band did. We didn’t fit in with the folk scene, we didn’t fit in with the metal scene, we really didn’t fit in with anything that was going on at that time. We just always felt like we were outsiders. We felt like we were social debris, we were in our own little world. So “Social Debris” was just the original band writing a song about us, essentially. And it came out sounding like it belonged into 1971. That’s just the original band - you can’t change that, it’s great.”

“Detroit Stories,” Alice’s upcoming new album, is a celebration of the sound and spirit of the Golden Era of Detroit rock.
"Detroit was Heavy Rock central then,” explains Alice, “You’d play the Eastown and it would be Alice Cooper, Ted Nugent, the Stooges and the Who, for $4! The next weekend at the Grande it was MC5, Brownsville Station and Fleetwood Mac, or Savoy Brown or the Small Faces. You couldn’t be a soft-rock band or you’d get your ass kicked."
“Los Angeles had its sound with The Doors, Love and Buffalo Springfield,” he says, “San Francisco had the Grateful Dead and Jefferson Airplane. New York had The Rascals and The Velvet Underground. But Detroit was the birthplace of angry hard rock. After not fitting in anywhere in the US (musically or image wise) Detroit was the only place that recognized the Alice Cooper guitar driven, hard rock sound and our crazy stage show. Detroit was a haven for the outcasts. And when they found out I was born in East Detroit... we were home.”
50 years later, Alice and Ezrin have united in Detroit with their Detroit friends to record “Detroit Stories,” Cooper’s new album.

The fact that this dude is still pumpin' out his classic, timeless, quality rock and roll, "Alice-style" - for at least a half a century now, is mind-blowing. This dude doesn't skip a beat.
I can't believe how good his voice still sounds...he hasn't lost anything to time. He's still 18.
I remember him premiering in a small suburb north of Detroit when they were playing at a small club attached to a bowling alley, doing their first big songs like "I'm Eighteen" promoting that first album. Name up on the marquee. My brother & friends went & saw him later - early Alice with cases of beer & bottles strewn on the stage - when he' started to play the large venues like Olympia Stadium in Detroit - now long since gone. Wow, here he is still shock-rockin' it after all these (70+**) years later.
**just to clarify: it was 50 not 70 years, and 'Eighteen' was first released as a single in November 1970 backed with "Is It My Body". It was followed by the album that included those songs, in 1971 (as per Wikipedia, for all you fact-checkers out there).
@@bebop5775 where was he premiering exactly? Which town north of detroit?
@@bebop5775 70+ years?!?! Not yet! He'll probably top 70 years of Rockin though! It's actually 50+ years! I'm Eighteen was on the 3rd album, which came out in 1972. The first album came out in 1969.
I agree!! I love Alice Cooper forever..
His Voice never changed in 50 years what a man
Same with Lemmy🤘😉😁
Bloody legend this man is
He golfed for 30 years and possibly saved his voice......but yes I love him.....lol......last time I saw him live was in the 1970s........lol
If you listen to earlier albums like Love it to Death and Killer. You can tell his voice sounds younger. His voice now sounds older and deeper. But he has still the grittiness he’s know for regardless. Love him so much.
@@frankiefelinesalwayswelcom5825 I agree
Alice Cooper is turning 73 today and is still on top with his awesome music, an absolute king!
Yep and never invited to be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. What a goddamn shame.

Alice Cooper gave us a great gift at the very own his birthday. Happy Birthday Alice Cooper!
I have been an Alice Cooper fan since my sister brought home the "Killer" album back in 71, when I was only around 8 years old. a couple of years later I bought "Billion dollar babies" with my first allowance, and before long I had a full cooper album collection. I've seen him several times in concert and haven't been disappointed yet! the fact that he reunited with the original band makes it even better! I can't wait to hear the rest of this album, this track is awesome!!
Billion Dollar Babies was the first album I bought with my allowance also . Money well spent . I paid about $4.50 at Gibsons
I have seen him live twice. What an amazing performer
@@roynoble1363 My first AC album was Killer, but I bought BDBs with some birthday money when it was released. Damn, where has the time gone?!
One of the best shows I ever saw (and I've been to over 100 concerts), was Uncle Alice and Rob Zombie together...man, they both pulled out all the stops on that tour, both trying to out-do the other, it was AWESOME!!!
Much like my experience growing up in Detroit 'burbs. First album of my own, "Killer" - red cover, huge snake wrapped around his neck. Older brother, "Love it to Death" at home already playing on vinyl & 8-track. He saw him in those early days around '69-'70, 70+ years later. Dad hated it.
i still have my alice collection on vinal...all in pristine condition, and my copy of b/d/bs has all the goodies intact - the billion dollar bill, the cut outs intact and the inner sleeve, that's still the coolest rock lp package ever !
The only singer from his era (and many after) who's voice hasn't changed 1 iota
ozzy too
@@tonycona182 Well ozzy's voice has gone slowly down its still good but not at all in the level he used to be, Alice's voice has been good for whole his career
@@tonycona182 Have to disagree--especially live.
Mick Jagger and Iggy Pop
Also King Diamond
When I listen to this song it makes me think of how a lot of social media has become social debris, I keep UA-cam for people like Alice Cooper and relive the 1980s VH1 Era
Happy Birthday, Alice!
Alice is the BEST!
Ya not wrong there
As an Alice Cooper fan since i was a kid, to get to record the guitar solo on this is the highlight of my career
That's you Steven? Outstanding!!! Cheers mate!
Such a killer solo!
That's great! Love the solo🔥
From one guitarist to another, awesome brother. Keep on rocking!!!

Lyrics man:
I don't commit, I just collide
I won't submit, I'll just decide
On where to run or where to hide
Their eyes are everywhere
I see them spying there
At my face, at my hair
I won't plug in, to their machine
I hate the sound, I hate that scene
I sure ain't hip, I sure can't hop
I lost the script, I lost the plot
Their spies are everywhere
I feel them hiding there
On my face, in my hair
I just can't cope with all this disease
It's pushing down, down, down
Down on me
Look at me, what you see
Is social debris
You said you'd treat me, but tried to delete me
You think I'm tragic, but I know I'm magic
Your eyes are everywhere
I see you spying there
At my face, at my hair
I just can't cope with all this disease
Pushing down, down, down
Down on me
Look at me, look at me
I'm social debris
I just can't cope with all this disease
Look at me, look at me
Social debris
Look at me, look at me
Social debris
Look at me, look at me
I'm social debris
Alice Cooper's assessment of social media and politics right now.
Haha yeah
Great Alice!
This music never lets me down. I've seen Alice Cooper two times in Germany where we screamed our lungs out during the concert and were high on good music. Thank you so much for all the effort and for simply being a legend!! Thank you for the music that makes us feel alive!
What tour did you see ? maybe we went to the same here in Germany 😁
Were you just high on life?!
I just bought this today and had to turn the volume up to 11 !!!
What a great album. Nice to see Ezrin back producing!!!!!!
I love that this us a song done by the original alice cooper band. The surving members should do a full album before its too late
A little dark lol...but true and agreed🤘🤘🤘

I have always loved the original Alice cooper band, and this doesn’t disappoint!
I love it when Alice records new music with Mike, Dennis and Neal. I only wish they all could have been in the video.
I totally agree...
This video was produced during covid/isolation months. It just wasn’t possible
Alice was my first obsession...when I was 7 years old in 71 I knew the whole “Killer” album by heart. It was in my parents collection of albums. It was the album cover that first got my attention. I got in trouble in school and my parents were called cause I was singing Alice’s song “dead babies” to the other kids at recess.
How funny is that...I just love it!
My home-boy from Detroit!!! Let's play a round of golf! Hope to be back in Michigan soon...Love 'ya Alice!!!
Classic ALICE COOPER BAND sound with Ezrin producing. Need I say more!!!
Dennis' bass riff sounds like the one from Elected
С днём рождения, Alice Cooper!
Now this is rock...I dig this one!!!
Эх....Не стареют душой ветераны! Низкий поклон деду за его вклад по продвижению тяжёлой музыки в массы!
Правильно брат.
Happy Birthday, Alice! Epic Song!
Could this fit on "School's Out" LP? Imagine what the recording would be like in 1972. This is classic already!
The fact he's sounded the EXACT same after literally like 60 years is mind blowing. True talent.
This is a very thinly veiled dig at what's happening now.Alice still has balls.
And that's a big reason why this rocks...
Cooper is not a Covid-19 conspiracy nut, if that's what you're driving at. He's had the jab and talked about it in interviews.
@@kimonmatara6903 he is definitely against globalism and the new world order though...
@@kimonmatara6903 I never said conspiracy nut.If someone has an opinion about something that doesn't go along with the typical mindset doesn't make them a conspiracy nut.
Took me a couple listens to fully appreciate how much this has that classic Alice Cooper band sound.
I listened to this Guy in High School....When He was NEW !
I've always loved Alice. Seriously. My older brother grabbed his first album when it came out. My most important wardrobe essential were 3 Alice Cooper t-shirts in Jr High. When my brother retired we went to his restaurant in Arizona to celebrate. I don't think we've ever needed Alice as much as we do now.
Schools out was my first long player as a child in 1972. Today in 2021 I got Detroit Stories and it kicked me straight back to the 70th. Great album!
love Alice's '63 Modded Out Avanti!!! 50+ Years In the Music Industry! ..RESPECT to the Detroit Buoy!!!
So awesome to hear the original Alice Cooper Band together again! RIP Glen!

Undying the King of Rock , love you Alice from Thailand 🇹🇭
Alice doesn't know the meaning of old age and that's why I love him 🤘
Great song! Reminds me of the '70's
The track was written by the original Alice Cooper band
@@papachunk1001 Really? Was this from those sessions a couple albums ago where the original band was on a couple of bonus tracks?

I loved Alice in the '70's, but, not sure I can really "remember" the 70's ?!?
Thank God Alice still has his voice. This rocks!!
Excellent as always!!This singer scared my step-father, which only made me turn the music up louder. He swore that Alice would destroy the young minds listening to him one day and the next say Alice and his music won't last 2 yrs. Here it is 45 yrs later and Alice is still going strong!
Voice still strong and rocking` !
I love Alice and I have to say, this song is GREAT!!!!! the best thing I have heard from Alice in a long time!!!!
this is MUSIC!!! can't stop listening...
Wow, I was just transported back to middle school music class 1971 where we had to bring in an album, pick one song off it, play it and do an oral report on it. I brought in Alice Cooper's "Killer" album. I chose "Dead Babies", teacher wasn't impressed. Alice Cooper is still here rocking as if time stood still ... where's the teacher? What teacher? lol
I love ya brother!! I'm in the process of rediscovering a lot of your work. Been playin drums since I was 15. I'm 59. I still feel like I did when I was a teenager when I'm on stage or just jammin out on my own. Dude you're part of my life and I just want you to know that. My dream is to get out of this place and find my big stage. The ultimate gig would be to play with YOU! Here's to God making our paths cross one awesome day bro! Live a thousand years. We need you.
Wowwwwww wasn't expecting that. That would have fit on any of their classic 1970s LPS 👍
I never cared for the hair-metal era stuff that he did but this sounds like he's returning to the stuff that he did in the 70's. It's fantastic and I'm looking forward to the album.
He ditched the hair metal stuff almost 30 years ago mate... "The Last Temptation" was a fantastic concept album he did in the mid 90s, reminiscent of "Welcome To My Nightmare". He also put out a couple of raw, 70s esque albums in the early 2000s: "Eyes Of Alice Cooper" & one of my favourites, "Dirty Diamonds". His last album "Paranormal" was really good too, although I'm not sure if it has that 70s sound you prefer. Everything in between has been a bit of a mix of different sounds, but the last hair metal album he put out was "Hey Stoopid" in 91'.
Why so much prejudice for hair metal?
@@richbillionair I personally love the hair metal records he did. I was just explaining to the original poster that Alice hasn't made a record like that in 3 decades, as he doesn't seem to be very up to date :')
@@richbillionair Oh. I dig hair metal. I just preferred Cooper's classic sound.
@@andyk9735 not at ALL up to date with Alice Cooper apparently :) I had no idea he was even still making records. I def want to go check out some of the mid 90's early 2000's stuff when I have some time.

73 and still kicking ass. This track reminds me of the Constrictor LP, awesome. 🤘
I first got introduced to Alice in 1989, with Poison. I was 9. Became a fan a few year later with the song Hey Stoopid and a die hard fan with the masterpiece The Last Temptation. As a teenager, I revisited Constrictor and Raise Your Fist. Then I discovered the amazing Welcome to My Nightmare and the earlier Alice Cooper group albums. Love it To Death is an all time favorite of mine.

I first saw Alice Cooper ( maybe 1970) just off the Mall in Washington, D.C. Wavy Gravy of Woodstock fame was touring the country in a hippie bus and they were making a movie, "Medicine Ball Caravan," where they would meet bands in various cities and film the free concerts and crowds. Alice Cooper blew me away! They were the first band I saw to have a "show" beyond regular rock and roll posturing. During "Black Juju" he begins hypnotizing the audience with a swinging watch and then he "comes back hard!" as he splits open a feather pillow and the feathers begin swirling all over the stage. Now, this was before fog machines and fireballs so it was pretty incredible. Next year, "I'm Eighteen" hits the charts and then Alice Cooper becomes a vaudeville act with a string of top 40 hits.
SUPER !
