@Jersey Grit Who else specifically in the Country space, has or had the tools that Chris Stapleton even just carries around daily in his back pocket, vocally? Never mind his song writing, or his guitar playing while singing. Just his vocals..?
Yes he was a song writer writing country hits some of the biggest hits ever and his wife convinced him to sing them himself he thought he was not good enough she pushed him behind every strong man is a stronger woman and those are the strongest people in this world
Believe it or not . Chris was actually on a bluegrass band “ the steel-drivers” and actually moved from Kentucky to Nashville to attend Vanderbilt University to go for his engineering degree. Then decided he wanted to give songwriting a chance . But clearly with his vocal talent he was definitely meant to share that voice with all of us.
You are Absolutely Amazing at this. Loved you honesty and you performance and they way you speak and handle yourself.. I can tell you were very well brought up.. Congratulations to your Parents.. Much Love from South Africa.. God Bless
Ha! I knew this song would give you a whole new range of faces! Chris takes his influences from country, blues (loves Etta James), classic rock, Snoop Dogg, southern rock and, yes, gospel. That's why he's so unique! There's a great duet with Chris and H.E.R. where he is absolutely thrilled to be singing with her. He has collabs with P!nk, Jennifer Hudson, Carlos Santana, Justin Timberlake... just ... what? I will be fascinated with his music forever because there are so many facets. Enjoy this rabbit hole, you're just at the top of it. ❤️ (He does have some upbeat stuff, too!)
I’m pretty sure I’ve seen every reaction to this, and this is one of my favorites. Your description of his voice and the church shack in the woods was perfection 😂🖤
Girlllll… I promise on EVERYTHING you will not find one single Chris song that doesn’t fill your whole body with this same feeling. Go down this rabbit hole. You will not regret a single second ❤
Your reaction to this song iz re-donkulous! Love it!! This song is straight up FIRE! And so are your comments & reactions to him singing this ballad. This man is SAANGIN!!!
As a white boy I’m always hesitant in this day and age to say this … but I love black folks to react to Chris… he has so much blues and soul… which is more tied into ur culture
You’re not out your element my fellow white dood 🤣 When I returned to the States as a kid, I instantly gravitated towards R&B I think some the difference in our music culture that it’s more diverse than our politics And that’s how our “American Culture” should be directed When I listen to reactions, I feel the same way
Dude there’s absolutely nothing wrong with how you made that claim , all this division and censorship around speech only serves to further divide us all…what you rightly pointed out is how we all come together…sharing music from each others cultures and appreciating it is a force for good we could do with more of right now!
You are adorable ! You always make me smile. Love your appreciation for Chris' music. He's a Kentuckian and so am I. Makes me proud every time I hear him sing.
You are correct, he did sing in church. Someone he grew up with was saying that he was that talented even back then. People were blown away. You have a good ear, you called that one.
I love the smile ! He is great ! Almost 71 , My first favorite was Del Shannon . Heard BB King around 1964 at 12 years old. Chris is just something special.
Ok you want to watch his live performances which sound better than his recordings. 1. Live impromptu performance of It’s A Man’s, Man’s, Man’s World 🌎 2. Sometimes I Cry 😢 live at the Bing Lounge 3. I Was Wrong live at Austin City Limits 4. Cold 🥶 live at the 2021 CMA 5. Hold On duet with H.E.R. at the CMA’s I think 2020. 6. Medley Duet with Justin Timberlake of Tennessee Whiskey 🥃/I Can’t Drink You Away CMA’s not sure of the year. 7. Live Duet with Jennifer Hudson at some awards show can’t remember the songs. 8. Tennessee Whiskey live performance at Austin City Limits. 9. Official Music Video Fire Away 10. Official Music Video Say Something Duet with Justin Timberlake. 11. DeathRow live performance at some country music awards show. There’s much more and before he became a singer he was a master guitarist and songwriter for many famous artists across genres so you probably know his work. You can Google that and get a list of songs and artists. I’m still working on that.
I Absolutely love your reaction to his voice , especially when you cross your arms like .... " What in the World are we gonna do with him " I am so enamored with watching your reactions , I must have watched 50 videos of yours today ... keep doing what your doing !!!!
Britt as me hooked as well. I have a new wife coming from Ghana next month and I know she has not heard of most American singers. I will be a joy introducing her to all the great artist and she her first time reactions!
Love your analysis. Chris is such a unique talent. Your reactions to his music make me laugh out loud. Your comments reveal truth just like his music!!
It’s like ZZ Top, Stevie Ray Vaughan, & George Jones all wrapped up into one. Wait until you see what else that man can do. That’s a once in a 1000 lifetimes entertainer right there. He may very well go down in the history books as the greatest of all time.
Can you please react to “Either Way” probably one his most underrated songs . I think he expresses everyone’s I’m done attitude. I watch every Chris Stapleton reacts that hits my feed. They all get a golden buzzer.
Country music has been called 3 chords and the truth. It's hard to pigeonhole it. If it has a message and emotion with a guitar or fiddle it's country.
Ok so new to your channel but love your reactions. Theres a term about making the guitar sing / bleed for you this man takes that and obliterates it and then his voice wow.i majorly into old blues and was sceptical about listening to chris at first when a mate suggested him then when i did blown away 👍🇦🇺
Chris Stapleton is generational. Check out the cover of James Brown's of It's a man's world. Chris was asked to join the band. Watch the bands reaction. He did James Brown proud.
I love that you are reacting to Chris Stapleton . 1 of a kind . Everytime I feel like he takes you to church , my wife says the same thing you just said about Panty dropping
Please watch Chris perform Tennessee Whiskey live at Austin City Lights...that performance definitely needs the church towel!! The man is amazing! He also did a live performance at the 2015 CMA's with Justin Timberlake that I think was the best live performance...ever!!
Apparently Chris's TN parents listended to Waylon Jennings,Willie Nelson as well as blues soul and R&B and he has spoken about as a High school kid groovin to Snoop and Dr Dre as influences.. He also did a great tribute to the great Aretha Franklin after she passed ,and said 'we lost a LEGEND today and the best vocalist he's EVER heard before singing one of her great hitsas tribute. Might want to look that up on YT also.He has SO MANY musical influences from his early days from old skool country to Prince, Aretha!. Truly a generational talent. Check out some of his early Blue grass band music which is fantastic with the talented bands the Steel Drivers and the second band the Jompson brothers both great bands and the talent ans skill is brilliant.
A voice like his only comes around once in a lifetime, and I’m glad it happened to be in my lifetime ❤
That’s a bit much..😂
Definitely, he's a generational talent
Drink a lot and you'll definitely get a similar voice, just that you might not be able to sing like him.
Agreed 👍
@Jersey Grit Who else specifically in the Country space, has or had the tools that Chris Stapleton even just carries around daily in his back pocket, vocally?

Chris is his own genre.
Chris is such an underrated guitarist, he plays with just as much soul as he sings but it gets overlooked because of his incredible voice
He makes the guitar cry for him. One of my absolute favorites!!!

0:45 Gurl......ring that church bell! Chris is it and he bleeds humbleness
He is so smooth like butta.

Not only is a great singer excellent guitar player but he has wrote over 100 songs.

I recommend also the live version at the Austin city limits of I was wrong. At the end his instrumental made me to feel B.B. King
