That stare at 5:18 is absolutely unbelievable. Like, good God, that is the stare of a man who just came to accept the fact that his wife not only died, but that he himself murdered her.
It's the best part of the whole game. That stare made the whole thing. It's also the way he struggles to understand it when the tape stops and you can see him trying to piece together what happened in his mind, being confused by it, and then accepting it.
I liked the framing of the camera better in the original. It was positioned very far away from James so that you as the player would feel separated from him after learning about what he did and letting the realization sit in. But all in all the remake of the scene is so amazing. The voice acting is a lot better.

I suggest changing the title to "James finds out the truth" or something similar. I already beat the game but some people might habe your vidoe pop out on the recommend video list and get spoiled. Yes, i know its over 20 years old, so are people supposed to know everything that happened in the past 20 years?
@@egosirius it might be timed either so you can pick up ur itens, or u get to the door of the VHS room. But, it runs out if u just stand there. I know that cause i stood there enjoying the music.
Outstanding voice acting! The models and facial expressions however...could show a little more emotion to coincide with the emotional voice acting. Other than that, great game overall!

When he killed her his mind kinda broke down, his brain created a whole another story to suppres his guilt/grief. I can't remember if it's a theory or if it's implied in the game that James killed her just some days before the start of the game and his brain warped even his sense of time.

Idk dwag... it's pretty awkwardly paced, the acting is good but the lines are played in a weird timming between each other. Also, the popping of james reflection on the TV after the change of shot is hilarious.
I like the voice acting/ mocap acting better in this game but i prefer how James was left to linger in the chair longer realizing what he actually did before Laura came in.
The videotape scene in the remake is terrifying.

@@wolfcl0ck it’s crazy how much his eyes convey, you can literally see on his face that he’s like, retroactively realizing that he’s known all along

Wow this definitely a change. In the original it felt more like you just have to realize he suffocated her. This one is more front and center.

That was a nice emotional touch, having Laura run out of the room in tears.
I actually had a tear at that part. Laura's actress did a perfect job.
