Stuart has spent his life making musical history, often alongside those he calls country music’s “Old Testament masters,” including Lester Flatt and Johnny Cash-with whom he apprenticed early in his career-as well as Merle Haggard, Bill Monroe, Porter Wagoner, and Mac Wiseman.
He launched a successful solo career in the 1980s, releasing hit singles including “Arlene,” “Hillbilly Rock,” “Little Things,” and “Tempted.” Since the 2000s, Stuart has explored traditional country, gospel, and West Coast country-rock with his group the Fabulous Superlatives.

Marty and his Fabulous Superlative Band and Connie Smith are the BEST OF THE BEST At keeping real country music 🎶 🎶🎶alive as well as saving the Historical songs, artifacts, music,clothing etc and more importantly the stories of the artists and entertainers alive and in the public so that new people can know how country music came to be so awesome and amazing and ALL the greats that have passed on to HEAVEN now,but Marty keeps them alive and continues to tell their stories so they're never forgotten. And you can't put a price tag on that because it's worth all the money, gemstones and riches within the universe plus more. Thank you Marty and Connie and your precious respective families and bands for making this world a better place and saving the history of those great people who paved the path for you and Connie and countless others!!!💞🤗💞🙏🙏🙏🙏

@Marty Stuart I have not been to any of your concerts, but I have been listening to your music since way back.... Lester Flatt days. You came to Cartersville, GA at the Grand Theatre, few years back. I missed it, unfortunately . I live in Cartersville. I still watch The Marty Stuart show on RFD tv. Hope you an Connie are doing well !

It took too long, but Marty is finally where he belongs. Marty and Ricky Skaggs are the two keepers of the flame of Bluegrass and now that flame will burn eternal as they're both forever enshrined in the Country Music Hall of Fame.

Some artists who don't quite fit in take forever and a day to get their due honors at the Country Music Hall of Fame. Some fly so low under the radar they're almost missed. Then some inductions just make perfect sense no matter which way you look at it. Singer, songwriter, splendid picker, Country Music historian and curator, and even talented photographer who has captured iconic images of the musical world you honor and inhabit. You belong among these legendary names as much as anyone could. Congratulations, Marty.

Yes I have yrs ago here in Louisville, ky McNelly lake you and Earl Thomas Conley were there for a free concert that day. My my long time ago if I'm not wrong it was in the late 80's
