The irony of Jen complaining about "men mansplaining her own field of expertize" to Bruce that been struggling with the Hulk for years, while she just recently became a hulk. She literally Hulksplained the Hulk to the Hulk, and somehow, this went completely over the heads of the writers.

Id argue this. She-Hulk does have lots of flaws. SHe's impatient, cowardly, self absorbed, narcisistic, violent, and lacks a complete sense of self awareness. She's easily the most flawed character in modern history. The problem is the writers think that those are positives.

Should be noted that in the OG Parody Star Treck fanfic the Mary Sue term comes from, Mary Sue herself has flaws. The existence of flaws or not isn't the issue, but if those flaws actually lead to consequences.
Because when they don't, it's clear the fictional universe they live in just bends to their will, and that's what makes a Mary Sue. She-Hulk believes her hardships triumphs that of everyone else around her, so everyone acts like she does.

Honestly, they really missed a trick. After Jen's monologue about how good she is at controlling her anger, there should be a moment where Bruce calmly and sagely explains all of the things he's been through, the hardships he's faced, and that the fact she thinks that her mundane life experiences make her good at controlling her anger is an insult to the highest degree. He then explains that a normal person would be absolutely incensed at the temerity of her suggestion, but he is not, as he illustrates by returning to normal, because he has learned a degree of control that can only come from extreme situations, which Jen has never even come close to experiencing.
It would be important to keep his tone friendly, but stern. He is the expert here, but he doesn't get frustrated with Jen.
There would be an interesting mirroring in that Jen begins to hulk slightly in her monologue, but Bruce becomes less hulk, subtly signalling that perhaps he is correct.

It's also ironic that Jen says that she might get murdered, yet she is the one who almost murdered people who's crime was being obnoxious at worst. So much for controlling her anger "infinitely better" than the guy who's been going through this for over a decade. I thought mental health was important or something.
It's also... kind of depressing... how those women "helped" Jen earlier, because they assumed she was going through domestic abuse, and their "solution" was to erase any and and all evidence of it and do nothing to actually help her or keep her safe.

A little fun fact: That bathroom scene was originally removed as Marvel even admitted it was shit. But the writers caused a big stink and got it put back in for the sake of muh themes.
The article I read said they "fought" for it, like it was some kind of corporate dirty dealings. But come on. These are woke writers here. We all know what probably happened in that board room.
The words I'd use for that scene would be: depressing, stupid, or more accurately, pretty goddamn morbid. So a woman walks into a bathroom, bloodied and dirty. Your first instinct is to cover her in make up, change her clothes, and give her some kind of fucked up pep talk... What was the 'message' here again? Oh, way to dress Jen up like a hooker. Totally appropriate for somebody you suspect to had been a victim of domestic abuse. Really classy, writers. Very cool.
Better yet, why didn't Jen push these people away and say she'd been in accident? You know, like any rational person would do. Oh right, because the writers can't have their characters have any kind of natural reaction to things. It would ruin their 'themes'...
The catcall scene was beyond moronic. Apart from Jen almost killing people over some trashy flirting. Why the hell didn't she remove herself from the situation and go back inside the bar where she'd be safer? More people, more witnesses, and likely more security.
Again, can't have logic get in the way of "themes"...
I would say something about the catcalling itself. But it's so retarded and artificial that it'd be redundant. It's clear that the writers just don't understand how basic social interactions work, much less catcalling.

She Hulk is a master class representation of how it feels to be a woman in current year. A never ending bestowment of abilities, opportunities, and shortcuts granted by those who walked the less travelled path and suffered while doing so, coupled with a bottomless spite and ignorance of those who paved said way for them, and an outright dismissal of their suffering as trivial and mindset that however painful it was, their existence as a woman is infinitely worse.

This right here is a major reason why I consider Mrs. Brisby from Secret of NIMH one of the best written characters in cinema. She's not particularly strong or clever, she's just a normal person (well, mouse) who shows great courage in overcoming her fears so she can save her family, because the responsibility is hers and it needs to be done. She also didn't have the luxury to whine or cry about it (the scene where the shrew scolds her for breaking down), there was literally no time for her to vent any of her emotions. If she didn't have it together, that was it, her children and home were _gone._ It's amazing how much more mature and poignant the writing from a decades-old children's film is than most of the "adult-oriented" entertainment we get today.

Given how she's a first cousin, she should be reasonably close with him or at least have a general idea of his life, especially since he's the freaking Hulk and there's gotta be news outlets recording any appearance he makes.
What about the scene of him attacking the city in Age of Ultron? Surely she'd figure he'd have some terrible remorse or even PTSD after being mind-controlled into attacking innocents.
That leaves us with the possibility that she doesn't care, making her a horribly toxic family member who only focuses on "number one" and is unsympathetic to all the trauma of her close family. If anything, this scene should make her closer to a villain, or at least someone who needs some *serious* character development.
Of course, however, the show tries to convince you that she's completely flawless and she's incapable of error, which gives the horrible message that it's okay to belittle the suffering of those close to you to young Marvel fans. It's the same issue with "they'll never know what you sacrificed" and WW84, teaching horrible lessons to our youth to be hateful, impulsive, greedy, arrogant, and selfish and if anyone opposes your actions, they're simply jealous or some form of -ist. It reflects poorly on our generation and worse on the writers.

Overlord is supposed to be about an exploration of a fantasy world from the perspective of (who I call) God. I like how she-hulk got her powers from the *grotesquely muscular* Hulk, but somehow, that translates to her being implied to be stronger than the Hulk, but at the same time somehow her body only becomes moderately more muscular unlike the extremely overmuscled Hulk.
This says a lot about the creators of the show.
1: They decided that giving She-Hulk an amount of muscle more proportionate to her strength was less important than making sure she still appeared attractive.
    (They chose Objectification over Realism)
2: By not giving She-Hulk a more appropriate amount of muscle compared to regular hulk, they actually support the idea that men and women have vastly different biologies in key areas, which is a position that people who support the idea of trans athletes would probably take umbrage with.
3: By not giving her a similar amount of muscle to the regular hulk, the creators have put on full display that they believe that men and women deserve to be treated and/or represented in an unbalanced fashion. Big oof.
Look, I get that the original She-hulk didn't have that much muscle either, but If the new creators want to act like they are so woke, they better start freaking trying harder haha.

On the flipside, She Hulk gains her powers when "being a superhero" is an actual job description. She doesn't have to hide like Hulk does and I think this dichotomy could have been used well. The series focus heavily on world-building and character interactions, and the MC being overpowered isn't treated as a power fantasy but more as a tremendous force that the side characters have to maneuver around or confront. The other interesting thing about Overlord is that in later seasons, they introduce some situations that question whether the main character is a force of good or not. Throughout the entire show, they constantly remind the viewer that the main character's human emotions are being suppressed due to a quality associated specifically with his monster race. Which makes it hard to determine whether the character's actions are his own or something influenced by outside forces.

The jab at Overlord at the start ruins the credibility for the rest of the video, OP characters open the door to tell stories about how you can't punch your way out of all your problems. Ainz is just a normal dude, not an evil overlord, but he has to act the part lest he lose the faith of his followers which could turn on him. If he had flashed up Sword Art or even better Smartphone or some other kinda dull harem show that just revels in the power fantasy, but to intentionally mispronounce isekai as "ICK" and then bash Overlord?
Naw, he's just that kind of UA-camr, he's clearly aware of anime enough to know how to pronounce it, and he's clearly capable of doing a bit of research to pull out the unpopular power fantasy shows from the bottom of the pile, but instead pulls a solid 8 and tries to punch down at it. He's doing it to create drama on purpose because UA-cam encourages "controversial" content, and this is controversial enough without crossing the line that triggers UA-cam's automated systems. Funny to think these threads would be at the top of the list, because of course they would be that's where there's real engagement.

But it takes so long to reach that final point that often times they scarcely get another season.
At least with shows like Overlord and One Punch Man, they shift the perspective from being centered less around the main protagonist as the person you root for, and more around the side characters and their development through the show.

Not only does She-Hulk not suffer from any of the flaws the Hulk is known for, the writing denigrates the Hulk.

More and more people have noticed quality entertainment have changed quite a lot in recent years. They hired activists not writers, hired activists that think they're "writers." Entertainment have been pushed away in favour of their nonsense. Do they not want quality entertainment? 😂

"because Tony learns from his mistakes"
It's great to see a character develope and let their mistakes shape them so they become stronger.
But she Hulk is perfect from the beginning, so she can't make mistakes. So her story doesn't develop, she is always the best version of herself without a need for improvement

What I'm getting from this is that Sitch is caught up on the new season of Overlord. I'd rather talk about that tbh, Marvel is worse sludge than most anime. Even in the worst isekai fantasy self insert animes there's some joy to be found. At least there you can see that the author really wanted to make it for the viewers to enjoy, even if it's just fanservice. Here we get appeasement of muh victim complex peddlers.

I do disagree with the Overlord take though. Ainz and Nazarick being overpowered is kinda acknowledged in the universe. Because of that, a lot of the show is more based around diplomacy or them going undercover. I could be wrong though, I may be missing some details.

Ainz actually has flaws which is the difference. He's overpowered for sure but he is always trying to out think everyone who are usually two to three steps ahead of him.

The humor of the show comes from him being unjustly overpowered rather than just being a fantasy

I mindlessly watched Overlord, and don't remember it very well. Isn't he looking for other "players" ?

@@loztagain8278 Yeah. There's no tension in the show though because nothing in the new world can challenge him or Nazarick and whenever he messes up it's turned into a greater win.
