FILM DESCRIPTION:
On the run in the year 1987, Bumblebee the Autobot seeks refuge in a junkyard in a small California beach town. Charlie, on the brink of turning 18 years old and trying to find her place in the world, soon discovers the battle-scarred and broken Bumblebee. Just realized that this is Charlie's first time seeing Bumblebee's darker side: the red eyes, his cannon, shooting the jeeps.

It's also a Nod to the Iron Giant. Bumblebee only got into this state when Charlie was hurt, similar to how the Iron Giant only went into battlemode when Hogart got knocked out.
In a similar vein, both robotic lifeforms got their memories restored when that scenario occurred, both for the same reasons.
Their Squishy little friend got hurt, so they went ballistic.

You can see how his body legit change to fit the characters he's playing.
When he's calm, the machine pieces has big gaps, making him look more round and open. Basically a big, metallic teddy bear.
When he's im assault mode, his form changed to look more sleek, giving him a compact looks and REALLY agile-looking. An absolute warrior.
Late to the party, but his parts really do scrunch tighter together as his posture stiffens up. Wild attention to detail based on personalities alone, but it’s the little things that seal the deal with these movies.
When he's in assault mode he looks more like a wasp & when he's on the regular he looks more like a bee
His eyes are the most obvious change. They're big and round when he is relaxed and they're small and red when he is in fight mode.

This scene was a huge lightbulb for me! The robot's eyes are naturally blue, but turn red when they get very angry! That's why the Decepticon eyes are red: because they're always full of hate, rage and malice, their eyes just stay red all the time! Genius!
I think they can also change it at will
I believe the eyes change willfully, or depending on how the bot is "trying" to appear. If they are trying to appear intimidating, their eyes naturally turn red as it's more of an aggressive color. That would line up with the Decepticons wanting to appear intimidating as possible, and Bee's stance during the battle. (Puffed out chest, looking down on the opponent. Mostly signs of intimidation tactics.)

But what I meant was this: This scene shows Bumblebee, a scout and a capable warrior, letting it rip in a rage. Now imagine Megatron, a gladiator of Kaon and a conquering warlord, unleashing his full might. It would be a literal blood bath. Nothing would stop him.

This scene is basically: Beware the Quiet/Nice ones. Just because this movie wanted Bumblebee to be cartoon accurate, it does not in any way mean he's not a combatant. This dude is a veteran of the autobot/decepticon wars which waged for millions of years.
Even pissed off, he's still VERY carefully picking his shots to take out vehicles. He's not aiming for people (though splash might still injure cuz Cybertronian weapons got some kick), but he's still very controlled in his anger.
Which in turn makes him even more dangerous. He's _aiming_ his rage, making him *deadly and precise.* That is a combination of factors you do _not_ want to mess with.
@@andrewowens4421 pretty much. He could easily vaporize every organic in the area in a few accurate seconds. Instead he takes deliberate aim, and takes very slow shots with long delays in between. It's like having the capability of an LMG, but you act like you're using a smoothbore musket that needs loading time, or a bolt action rifle or something. And his targeting of vehicles removes only the advanced offensive capability of them: soldier small arms might do much other than annoy him, and humans physically can't do much without tech or high explosives. He just... removed the advantage they had that made the playing field equal.

Bumblebee in this movie was an absolute treat. This is one of the only times he goes into kill mode and it was always for a friend who was injured. But in every other time he fights, he never does it out of aggression or out of hate. It was more about duty and love for the world he’s on and the friends he’s made and will make.
It's amazing how the red eyes, battle mask and more importantly body language make this seem like a completely different character.

Interesting enough bumblebee was never a autobot to begin with. He was neutral in the conflict until being forced to choose sides. And eventually becoming friends with many autobots including Optimus.

The CGI on Bumblebee is incredible in this movie. Makes you really believe he’s in the scene interacting with people
This scene changed everything for me, especially since I loved Bee in the first one. This just took the cake and I was lost for words that he would get to the point of hurting humans.
He didn't hurt the humans, he just blew up their cars. Rightfully so. They attacked him first and man-handled his Charlie.
I love how he turned from beast mode back to his gentle and soft side when Charlie told him to stop

I love how it's not just that the guy shoved Charlie down that set Bee off. It was how long it took her to get back up. Bee probably thought she was seriously injured and just loses it. And the only reason he starts shooting is because they shot first and put Charlie in even bigger danger. If they hadn't shot, he would have calmed down, taken the kids and left.

This scene is a beautiful mixture of when King Kong gets captured (not to mention the calm music near the end reminds me of the soundtrack that plays when King Kong and the blonde are at the frozen lake) and when the Iron Giant goes ballistic after Hogarth gets hurt.

I like how this scene gives an explanation for why Decepticons and Autobots have different eyes. It’s like Deceptions are on instant kill mode 100% of the time while Autobots are on peaceful mode.
Any Cybertronian can turn into a Decepticon if it has receiver enough emotional trauma during it’s life cycle or went through hatred.
Bee snapped out of this because of Charlie.

Is it weird that this movie is better than most of the previous ones, like when bee fights the decepticon they actually show well it unlike in other movies where all they do is focus on the humans, like yeah they put focus on the girl as well but unlike in the other movies where it was a long and far away shot of the action, they actually did a good job at showing both the action and the girl...it’s like they figured out how to shoot the movie up close or something, it felt better

When Bumblebee’s eyes turn red, that’s his rage mode. He’s not a former Decepticon when he’s not meant on killing the soldiers or Charlie herself because just like his other race, he can control his will. And I see why the soldiers are gonna kill Bumblebee because they’re assuming that he’s a machine, but in actuality, he’s a sentient robot born naturally like other Transformers.
