Last Knight was bay fucking with the timeline where Extinction left off. None of the shit in that movie should've happened. Autobots exiled from American soil. Cade being a fugitive. Grimlock and Slug living in a junkyard when they were supposed to be free. Say what you want about Extinction, but it was needed. The worst part of a bomb isn't the explosion but the fall out. And we needed extinction to show us the impact the Chicago war had. It was wrapped up nicely then bay fucked up.

Exactly. But people still say Bayverse Optimus is a psychopath. Ignoring the fact Sentinel was going to kill him not 5 minutes ago without remorse. As brutal as Optimus is in these movies, he takes no satisfaction or enjoyment in his kills the way Megatron or any Decepticon does. He's doing them to make SURE they stay dead and can't harm any humans or his Autobots... but sadly Megatron always comes back.

The one which connected to sideswipe didn't cause him any damage cause he's made of fiber glass body. Cosmic rust only works on metal. And another shot was missed. Bee was flexible duh. Although plot armor is the thing that made sentinel lose you all know

I like how Megatron was going for a Joker/Batman relationship where they're antagonist doomed to fight forever because neither will kill the other. The only problem is that Optimus isn't Batman, he's The Punisher. He ripped out a guys heart last movie and squeeze it right in front of his eyes, Optimus is cold blooded behind a veneer of safeguarding all life in the galaxy.
In fact in the first version , he accepted the truce and the deceptions returned to cybertron or Space at least, but it got leaked so MB just chose to do this version instead. Not every version of Optimus would chose to decapitate a surrending enemy, but movie Decepticons are ruthless so it s logical movie Optimus is adapted to his opponents. Cybertron , prime and movies Optimus are trully goated version of the character ( with G1 of course but i never Saw it so.......)

3:21 look closely before Megatron said "who would you be without me Prime?" it is almost look like Optimus is shocked after realising Megatron is not there to save him but simply taking out competitor, maybe when he thought Megatron have changed, Megatron word prove him wrong thus setting him off, had Megatron say something like "I don't want to fight anymore, I just want to end this once and for all", Optimus might not kill him and even willing to forgive him but that is just my theory, a film theory
In the novel, Optimus didn't kill Megatron. Megatron claimed he could hear Cybertron calling to him before the portal closed. So he decided to take what was left of the Decepticons & head home. Meanwhile, Optimus & the Autobots made Earth their home.
Well, that whole "I don't want to fight anymore, I just want this to end" *IS* in the novelization for "Dark of The Moon" where Megatron says something along the lines of it, and he actually left Earth with his Decepticons so they can rebuild Cybertron. This was supposed to be the original ending, but it got changed to what we see in the final film.

These are the kinds of villians a love where they are not only cool looking and super badass but their motives and reasoning is understandable and makes sense and isnt just being evil in order to go against the main character because we see in later movies how shitty humans are to the autobots and Optimus despite everything they've done for them and all the times they saved Earth and that he only wants to save his kind by restoring Cybertron

@@tmac731 Only a Prime can kill the Fallen, but normal Transformers can beat Optimus and Sentinel, although very unlikely. Megatron beat both Optimus and Sentinel by sneaking up on them while they were distracted.
Don’t forget that when optimus beat the Fallen it was only because he was super amped up super saiyan with this extra part he received from the decepticon who sacrificed himself.

I didn't like the way Optimus begged before getting killed. Seemed out of character. Megatron Megatroned, was not surprised about that. The way he died seemed too sudden. Almost like they ran out of budget and had to decapitate him without a fight to end it.

Megatron indirectly saved Optimus. Megatron only killed Sentinel because the former was afraid the Prime would force Megatron into submission. It was a power grab that Optimus took advantage of.

@@denisblaster5309 That may be the case but you have to take into account that Optimus was severely wounded himself. All Optimus had left as weapons were one axe and one arm to wield it. On the other hand, Megatron had hardly engaged in battle and could have very well killed Optimus if he wasn't taken by surprise. You talk about fighting for peace but Megatron died and came back and was still strongly opposed to Optimus. Megatron came back to life only to cause even more havoc and destruction. Optimus mourned his initial death, saying "You left me no choice, brother." The kill was brutal but to me, necessary.

Of course, I think that the original ending with Optimus and Megatron truce would've been better but I can see why Optimus did what he did here, especially considering how this Megatron acts.

On the other hand, Megatron had hardly engaged in battle and could have very well killed Optimus if he wasn't taken by surprise.
You talk about fighting for peace but Megatron died and came back and was still strongly opposed to Optimus. Megatron came back to life only to cause even more havoc and destruction. Optimus mourned his initial death, saying "You left me no choice, brother."

Of course, I think that the original ending with Optimus and Megatron truce would've been better but I can see why Optimus did what he did here, especially considering how this Megatron acts.
