I was one of the funders of a custom synth group buy for tabernanthalog. Seems to be superior in every aspect compared to ibogaine etc for addiction . Maybe make a video about it , delix therapeutics has a really good paper about it
Hey dude, I hope I'm not bothering you or disturbing you in any way, but i just discovered your channel and you seem really knowledgeable and i wanted to ask you how I should learn advanced organic chemistry. as a pastime, I'm self-studying organic chemistry, and I just finished reading John McMurry's Organic Chemistry, i have understood basic organic concepts but I'm not sure where to continue from here. I'd appreciate it if you could recommend some good books or resources. Thank you ahead of time. Also i really like your format and the way you present the mechanisms, very useful.
My preferred core org chem text book is Clayden. For more advanced textbooks I like Advanced Organic Chemistry by Carey and Sundberg and March's Advanced Organic Chemistry. The Art of Writing Reasonable Organic Reaction Mechanisms by Grossman is also worth reading.
Somehow this family of natural products is one of my favourites.. the 3D Cage is just tooo seductive. Maybe I'll find a Group where i can do things like these in my PhD in the far future.

Nice video as always! (small mistake at 4:50, you forgot the thioether on the nosyl deprotection byproduct)
Good spotting!

Might be fun to throw in the synthesis of tabernanthalog as well, since it's simplified structure may be just as effective as ibogaine itself....
I wonder if it would still work if you take off that ethyl group
