Valdore never really seemed like a successor to the D'Deridex, it seemed like the Romulans decided they needed a smaller ship of the line to firm the backbone of their fleet. Valdore seems more in line with the Akira
Your getting better at protecting your ship, try to not max out your shields and weapons at the same time. Causes strain on your engines power supply. Try raising both of them to 110% That should give you enough umf to your phasers and Torpedoes. Without sacrificing to much power and dipping into your power reserves. Also video idea……. Armored Voyager and Standered Voyager Vs All the Enterprises. That would be a badass fight of the Multi-millennia.
2:45 That was the SuQ'jagh (it was what the Klingons had instead of a Steamrunner) that had the boarding parties. The Negh'Var had the Ion Cannon (which might as well have been what the ship used on DS9).
My impression is that the Negh'Var is the more powerful ship. It is the Klingon dreadnaught whereas the Valdore is a possibly a replacement for the D'Deridex and is more versatile. It appears that the Valdore has more firepower than the D'Deridex, has good all around firing arcs and is a good deal more lither and agile. It has incorporated lessons learned from the Dominion War where the big Warbirds suffered heavily from attacks from swarms of attack ships, did not have a great record as a ship of the line due to its ambush predator design and they finally figured out that the enemy simply learned to hang on their unprotected sides. So one expects to see many Valdores for every Negh'Var. In naval parlance, I think the D'Deridex was a proper battleship whereas the Valdore is more like the Fast Battleships where advances in tech allowed for the same firepower and armor in a trimmer, faster ship.
Don't think the Valdore is really a D'deridex replacement per say. It's a much smalller ship that probably grew out of the Dominion war as the Romulan fleet saw a serious need for smaller, faster and less resource expensive ships to counter the Dominion attack ship swarms. I also tend to think the D'deridex, mostly due to its sheer size compared to everything else, was also likely ramming target number 1 for any Dominion attack ships looking to trade themselves for a potentially high value enemy target, which is why the Romulans deployed so comparatively few of them into those large fleet on fleet type engagements.
The cannons on the bottom of the Negh'Var are orbital bombardment artillery. Occasionally they are removed/replaced, but that was the original design spec.

When controlling the Valdore it's probably a mistake to fight the Negh'Var while facing the Negh'Var's forward weapons. I'd fire off my initial barrage, cloak immediately, then maneuver until I was facing the Negh'Var's aft, decloak and fight it from there. The moment it outmaneuvered me I'd cloak again and reestablish my preferred position. You fought 90% of your battle against the Negh'Var while facing its forward weapons. That's not a battle the Valdore can win.
When you see the Negh'Var unleash a full volley, it looks less like they put weapons arrays onto a ship and more like they crammed a ship in between weapons arrays. I bet Gowron went full, grinning, crazy eyes when he saw it perform in the test flight they (presumably) put it through. Though, knowing the Klingons, the test flight may well have been "Invading Cardassia".
It would be neat to see the Valdore be retroactively added into TNG and DS9 scenes, seeing as how the D’deridex is more of a flagship/heavy warship. Hopefully we see it in future Star Trek series
Just an update, I used the zip for the RBG Galaxy, and it installed fine. Found out my so-called USS Vengeance was actually an Achilles class. Oh well. Took the Achilles out vs the Millenium Falcon and it wiped it out! Why are Star Wars ships so overpowered? lol
Glad you got it working Jonathan. I think the issue may be with virus scanners. As the auto installer is a .exe it assumes it’s a virus and try’s to quarantine it, damaging the files. Really glad you got it working. Haha. I think the people who made the Star Wars mods were really Star Wars fans. Maybe they were trying to make a point? Although I will agree that the Death Star would be a huge problem for Starfleet.
When fighting the negh'Var you need to get behing it to minimise the firepower it can hit you with, then turn tour ship to spread the incoming fire around your shields you should last much longer and take less damage

The D'Deridex is massively overpowered in the remastered mod. Was it not meant to be comparable to the Galaxy? Instead a D'Deridex wipes the floor with it, and has no issue with the Negh'var.

Quite evenly matched, although the Negh'Var is slightly stronger.
Negh'var had trouble targeting ships that got too close and it's weakness was the underside.
Valdore is more nimble then the Neghvar, you should have maneuvered behind it out of the arc of its forward weapons.

Kinda see the Valdore as a Battle cruiser while the Dderidrex performed a more Battleship role, which the Scimitar seemed to be a replacement for.
