      And tehy all say that u have social tiers
      And eventhought u live a all life there,, the government will never consider u a swiss ,, and u will never have the same privileges
      They talk about social tiers, and tehy say that a imigrant will get at tier C with some luck

      @@ShayNoMore1 What is social tiers? (My english might not be good but i've never heard that word before).
      You can live all your life in switzerland and not be considered a swiss thats true. But you could also get a swiss citizenship because that's the only thing that makes you swiss.
      So if you want to become swiss you have to get the passport after that you get those "privileges" I don't know what you mean by that but ok.
      Most foreigners I talked to dont even want to become swiss because they would that the special privilege to serve in the military.
      You want the same rights? Then you should also have the same duties.
      And alot of people are not willing to accept that. They only want the good part but not the not so convenient part.

    The topic about differences of salary and cost between two same jobs and two same flats is accurate af. In Geneva a rented flat nowadays is much more expensive than the same the same one rented 20yrs ago because once it was signed the rent is blocked. The Regie cannot increase the rent until it's rented by a new occupant. That's why some people pay 1500 chf for a 4,5 room and others 3000chf for the exact same apartment in the same building.

    As a young Swiss (22 y.o), I can confirm that's true. I never talk to my friends about how much money we make and I have absolutely no idea how high their salaries are - not that I feel like I need to know. Talking about how much you earn is just something that feels strangely intimate to me and therefore, I feel uncomfortable talking about it. I recently tried to educate a foreigner who DMed me and wanted to know all about my personal finances (how much money I make is none of that stranger's business!) that this is simply a topic we don't talk about here and that it's quite rude to ask about - they didn't want to respect that and went on to belittle our country. Definitely pissed me off😅

      That is really interesting, but I have a doubt about it:
      Does this apply to just salary or does it also apply to goods you own? E.g. if a swiss friend of mine is showing me a new TV he has bought, would it be appropriate to ask how much did it cost? If I explain that I'm considering buying a TV and knowing the price of this would help me, would it be acceptable then?

    • @Lalalein
      @Lalalein 2 роки тому +2

      @@gonzalosanchezmartin3171 Well, I, personally, feel a bit awkward to ask others how much something cost but I have seen others do it before. Well.. I lived in Switzerland for a few years and I think how much money you make is anyway the wrong question, because ppl there have such an expenses. In other countries you may make half or 1/3 the money, but you also pay 1/6 for taxes and bills. So salary is not a relevant number in CH, I think (and vice versa according the rent etc). Of course there is a reasoning behind the steep taxes, as you said the system is working great :)

    If a friend ask me this question I have not problem to tell him... but I don't see how this can be a stranger's business.

    I was in a relationship with a swiss guy for more than 3 years. When somebody asked him about money, like how much money he makes, it always pissed him off. At least he didn't show it to the persons who'd asked him but will tell and show me in private how upset he was and how he felt invaded. Now I'm married. Not with him but also with a swiss guy. When I started working here in Switzerland, i showed him all my job contracts and told him how much i earn so we can declare and pay our combined taxes. But until now, i have no idea how much is my husband earning. I just can't ask him. I don't know, maybe because of my previous experience from my ex. I don't want to see this kind of reaction from my husband. My husband is shy and normally quiet but when we are together, he just can't stop talking and sharing me his everyday life at work, going to work, travel plans, problems, funny or not, name it! He shares them all with me except for his salary although all of his financial papers are just lying around the house, i still don't dare to go through them. If there are people quite open to talk about money it's the Swiss. I'm used to talk about money, salary and much more at ease with Swiss people than with any other people in the world. On contrary, it's way much more difficult to ask French people how they earn or how much they've been paying for this thing or this other thing. Maybe Swiss-German are as usual more conservative about it, but Swiss-French don't really care. I've never seen that much people emptying their wallet with small money on the table. That's typically Swiss to put your small money on table and pick centimes to gather one or two Francs. In France doing such a thing is considered as rude. Anyway, A Swiss-German speaking for the whole Swiss population is always kinda funny. But not entirely true.

    Hi,i was wondering is it better to study bachelor of Business administration in Switzerland or MBA There in order to get a job ? and whats the salary like for non exprience people in business administration ? and since I'm foregner can I get paid as well as Swiss people ? I'm 21 and one more question : when can I start my own business and will the government help me or not ?.

    • @SwitzerlandInsider
      @SwitzerlandInsider  4 роки тому +1

      Hey Hussain, thanks for your question 😌 the following statements are my opinion and should be treated as such 😉 So let‘s go. I believe that a degree in business administration is worth something in the world, but not as much in Switzerland. Here you would be better off studying economics or marketing directly to maximise you employability. Salary-wise it depends on the industry you end up in. Internships start at CHF 3500-4000 which sounds like a lot but bear in mind that 3500 is minimum wage. Which also sounds like a lot but your place will cost you 1500, health insurance 400, transportation 200-300 etc... in Switzerland you can negotiate your salary however i dont think so in entry level positions as you can be happy if you get accepted 😊 as you say you want to open your own business you can do that as soon as you have the papers to live here and are over 18. Switzerland is not as entrepreneur friendly as other countries. So to sum up, if you manage to get papers to live and work here then (or be it temporarily througha student visa) then you take it from there 😄 all the best 💪💪

    I can't stand it when foreigners feel like we're super rich. Like other countries, we also have rich people but not that many. The majority, however, earns the average. Compared to the cost of living, that's sometimes not a lot of money.

  • @club1fan552
    @club1fan552 3 роки тому

    Wow. Really interesting. I don't live in Switzerland and would never ask anyone their salary but the cost of cars, holidays, you know, general "stuff" is part of everyday conversation and education. To avoid it is stifling. Do the Swiss talk about politics and religion? Now that's taboo!

    • @SwitzerlandInsider
      @SwitzerlandInsider  3 роки тому

      Yeah good point you have! Yes the Swiss talk about politics, but more often than not they already have an opinion or side they go with so it‘s rarely a discussion but more a ropepulling and convincing the other side. When it comes to religion, many Swiss have had it so good over the last decades that there was no need believe in a God. So if you go to the countryside people are more religious than in the cities but it‘s rarlely a topic of conversation 😊 hope this answers your questions!

      I dont know what tier system you are talking about 😄 if you get a place thats owned by the community or a building society you can get away cheaper yes, as they don‘t operate for profit. But the line is long. About as long as on the border when you commute to switzerland in the morning 😄 wait, settle a bit, get to know people and see where it takes you here. Hi what are the tax rates there?

    • @SwitzerlandInsider
      @SwitzerlandInsider  4 роки тому +2

      Hey Donovan, tax rates are variable depending on your income and wealth as well as which Canton (state) you live in. Generally you can assume that you pay one monthly salary in taxes per year. For this reason in Switzerland there are 13 monthly salaries, one that is paid at the end of the year and for you to use as tax money. However it‘s xmas money for most 😄 and then pasta january coming after to make up for december. Depending on how much you make you will have to pay more. The worst affected is upper middle class (up to 2-3 monthly salaries). Also tax rates depend on where you live. There are areas in Switzerland where taxes are low such as in Zug and some cities by Lake Zurich and some Cantons that do not really have corporate tax. Also the days where you could deposit money in an anonymous number account in Switzerland are over, so no more tax evasion. I hope this helps, let me know if you need more/ different info 👌☺️
