- We built a travel rig for The Wheel of Fortune Live crew a year ago and it's time for an upgrade. We gave them some big new shiny Blackmagic tech to handle all the additions the show needed. New tech include a Blackmagic Videohub 40x40, a Blackmagic SmartScope Duo, a Blackmagic Constellation HD, and a Blackmagic 2 M/E Advanced Panel.

I love that one minute I could be watching a documentary on UA-cam and the next minute or 53 minutes later I'm clicking on a video behind the scenes of wheel of Fortune live. Would've been nice to see the patch panel up close but still an impressive build.
Variety is the spice of life! Thanks!
Love the set up, I miss working with blackmagic, set up and programming is my favorite part, but next time, please remember to clean the screens, especially for the close ups 😊
Noted! Thanks for the comment DubCodes, much appreciated!
Now, let’s see a $10,000 winner on Wheel of Fortune LIVE!
Love love love the highlights. I would like to see the tutorial on the macros setups you do and and how you do it.
This is amazing content l am looking at doing a kit like this one for sports i would like to know more.
We would love to help in anyway possible. Email us at sales@eventtechav.com some info about what you are looking to do and we can get Bruce involved. Thanks!
Love it, brilliant build. But…….. from experience, on a rig I’ve built, the ATEM 2 ME was , similar to what you’ve done mounted between other equipment. This caused it to overheat and stop working. Luckily I had room to put a 1U vent above it, and it solved the problem. Have you had any issues with it?
No reported issues so far. However, you make a great point. In our 1 hr build video Bruce notes that BMD can over heat. Now we feel it may be important to see if we can add space to that side of the rack for air to circulate. Thanks for the tip!
Well before we made this recommendation to the client it happened! Exactly like you predicted. Hopefully more people read the comments before installing this 2/ME switcher.
Sorry to hear that. At least there’s no permanent damage done, let it cool and power cycle it. Mine is now just below the top of the rack with a 1U vent above it, underneath is a monitor, so lots of air around it. I’ve had no problems since.
I'm an audio engineer at the small theatre/music venue kinda stage. I have no idea about any of this kit but it was a really interesting watch. Nice setup
Thanks for the comment Gabe! Glad you enjoyed the build 😎👍
is the rack custom?ive been trying to find one like that with a flat "drawer” The ones I found either have a lip or another top on top of the drawer
Yes it is! We designed it for this purpose and had it built by a custom fabricator.
Is your audio/video stuff recordable?
Would be nice to at least see an “episode” of Wheel of Fortune LIVE so that everybody knows what to expect on the show…
We will pass the note on to the producers!

Sounds good! For now, I’ll try to attend that show in Carteret, NJ!
