Top 10 Jeff Gordon Wins
Jimmie Johnson: *Can have a Top 10 win list*
Other Drivers: *Can even win one race* lol
Ok... I fixed it to other lol 😂

3 months later, McDowell won
QUESTION FOR JIMMIE: What was the tipping point moment in which made you decided that you wanted to retire in 2020? Did anyone influenced you to retire in 2020?
Jimmie winning his 7th championship will always be my favorite Jimmie Johnson victory
Ah so many memories. #1 for me has to be the 2016 Goody's Fast Relief 500. Me being attendance for the win, it being Jeff Gordon’s final race, and it was the race that gave Jimmie Johnson the ticket to his record tying 7th championship.
Question for Jimmie:
Out of all of the championships that you’ve won, is there a specific championship that stands out to you the most?
He would probaly say his last champion
Or the first.
2013 to me
I would say 2016 if I were him
He answeredthat in the video he announced his retirement. He said 2006, because it was his first, and he really felt the pressure, since he "failded" the previous years
That call of the race and the number one moment is so perfect. NBC nailed it with the radio transmission from Chad Knaus to Jimmie Johnson and then Allen Bestwick, doing what he does, put a period on it
For JJ: What was going through your mind on the final restart in Homestead 2016?
For me Jimmie’s best win was 2015 Texas 2. Brad had that one locked up and Jimmie just went god mode on the last run stole it
you should ask jimmie if he’s planning to race some races next season, if so which ones
He is doing Indycar next year for chip Ganassi so if he does race next year it would most likely be at Dover or Daytona.
Jimmie was pretty excited about the COTA announcement 🤔
The two
that stand out to me from this list are....
1) The 2011 Talladega tandem. Not Jimmie AND Dale Jr winning but where in the heck did Carl Edwards think he was going? 🙈
2) Homestead 2016. Again not necessarily JJ winning his 7th Championship but the way Kyle Larson raced not wanting to interfere with the championship contenders. Though Jimmie's excitement was pretty dang cool.
If Jimmie Johnson was to come back it would be with Chip
I think he could. It's a shame he most likely won't win in Nascar again( I obviously could be wrong), but that shouldn't define his really great career. It's been a pleasure being a fan of Jimmie Johnson for 9 of my 10 years as a Nascar fan.
My question to Jimmie:
Jimmie you came into the cup series when you were about 25 years old, did you think you could've done so much before if you came to the cup series before the 2000 season?
And my favorite Jimmie win is either 2011 Talladega or his 7th championship
I watched his 7th championship live, my carl edwards loving friend screamed at the top of his lungs and said he didn't deserve it, he was a horrible person anyway so it didn't matter what he said
Question for Jimmie:
I’d love to ask Jimmie Johnson or hear of any stories he may have with Richard Petty after matching the 7 🏆 championships. To be in such elite company. Please ask him in the next interview.
A few years ago in an interview with Dale jr Jimmie said he would admit everybody he ever wrecked on purpose so could you ask Jimmie "have you ever wrecked someone on purpose" #IWreckedHim
Question for Jimmie:
You've had a big impact on me and millions of other people. Do you ever stop and think how much you've changed peoples lives?
thata a good ass question
Tyler, are you going to finish that CWOSSANT
I’m 21 and have been a Jimmie fan since late 05 and this season is very bittersweet considering part of my childhood will die when he retires so it’s gonna be very bittersweet
I'm gonna miss watching him, he is my all time favorite! I'm so glad I get to see him at Texas one last time.
You should bring Michael mrucz on the podcast when you have Jimmie on it
^
JIMMAY
I’m watching his stream rn lol
Not a question, but I have a special message to Jimmie:
Well my friend, here we are, the end of an era. February 19th, 2006 will go down as the day that changed my life forever. I truly thank the lord from above for picking your car to win the Daytona 500 at just the age of 5. If I never believed in you, I would honestly be a lost cause and I would not have been introduced to the sport I have grown to know and love. Every week watching you on track either on TV or in person was more than a blessing, it was a gift from God himself. As my love and support for you has grown over the years, I became loyal, devoted, and ardent. Back when the haters got tired of you winning all those races and championships, I didn't give a care in the world. I was behind your back and our fans had your back. We withstood it all from those mumbles and conversations from others who didn't believe.
I'm also fortunate for all the times we have shared a simple conversation or just a quick signing. From Charlotte, where I was a small midget standing next to a very tall person that was also my hero, to NYC, where I waited countless hours for you to appear with Richard Rawlings in the pouring rain. I sacrificed so much to be a part of your presence. If you just so happen to hold another appearance no matter where it is, I will drop everything and travel countless hours and miles just to see you race or even just say a simple hello and goodbye.
I've cheered for you, i've screamed for you, i've cried for you. Whenever you had a bad day, my heart hurts for you and my mental state has rested in your hands. Whenever you excelled, I was in a happy state of mind, but when things didn't go your way, I was in depression.....sometimes really bad depression, and it is not a great feeling........
......but what got me back on track was your perseverance, your humbleness, and your no-quit attitude. When all hope was lost at Daytona this year, you never gave up. You weren't willing to quit the race and that night, my tears of sadness and anger turned into tears of joy and resilience. It was that moment I knew that Jimmie Johnson was a real-life version of Darkwing Duck, where no matter how hard the hits came, Jimmie would always get back up. I also realized that I shouldn't be emotional because we can't run for a coveted 8th title, but that I should be proud and humbled to have watched a driver like Jimmie for as long and dominant as I have.
Despite all of this, I want to say thank you. Thank you for all the cheers, the tears, the heartbreaks, and the triumphs. I'm also crying not tears of sadness, but tears of joy as you embark on the next chapter of your life. While it's going to be sad not seeing you in a stock car, I cannot wait for the next part of the story to be written in open-wheels. You, in my opinion, are the greatest driver of this generation and many of us should celebrate this special moment together as a community because we may never see anyone like you again. My life has forever been changed because of your passion for racing, and if the pieces didn't fall into place, I probably wouldn't be writing this to you. I would just be another lost soul trying to search for a place in this world.
Until the next time we see each other again Jimmie, I am forever thankful to have a hero like you in my life. You have not only inspired me, these podcast guys who put their heart and soul into the work they do for the sake of entertainment for us the fans, but generations of NASCAR fans to come. I will most definitely be telling stories to my grandchildren about the good days and times not only you, but we have shared together. My one wish is to get the chance to talk to you Jimmie and while this podcast crew is doing this one-of-a-kind interview, I hope this comes as a close second to know how much you mean to me and to millions of other fans around the world who have gotten to know one of NASCAR's greatest drivers and possibly NASCAR's greatest figure.
I love you bro with all my heart and i'll be looking forward to seeing you race in IndyCar the moment I can. Hopefully, we can make a simple conversation turn into something more special.
Nice bro I’ve been a Jimmie fan all my life too
Made me cry watching all those big wins. Those last two laps at homestead for #7, I literally held my breath and couldnt even make a sound for 5mins after the checkered flag. Was such an Honor to root for my driver all those years.
Hard to believe they're only 3 races left in JIMMAY's career
A race that I think should have made this list: the 2004 Coca-Cola 600. It was IMHO his single most dominant win: leading 334 of 400 laps. Until Truex in 2016, it was at that point the most dominance ever shown in the 600 miler
#4 will always hit different. The commentary by Mike Joy was so good. “White Flag, but no surrender” what a way to describe the final lap of a duel between goats
Question for Jimmie: what was your all time favorite racetrack in your career?
What your favorite NFL team?
Tell Jimmie, Thanks for being my favorite driver for so many years! From the Chevy Thunder trucks and Announcing SODA events to watching him in ASA and watching him become the 7 time champ of NASCAR. Thanks for the ride and I hope to see ya win in Indy soon!
No. 1 was so emotional. Brought back all the emotions from that day
I love how fast DW said "Okay, a sixteenth of an inch"
This isn’t a question but, I want to thank JJ myself for the absolute domination, he and Chad Knaus brought to NASCAR. I can almost say I grew up along seeing Jimmie Johnson get Win #1 as a infant, to now being a graduate of high school and now looking at his astonishing 83 wins, two Daytona 500’s & the seven championships. The 2021 season is going to be a odd year without the man himself but in my humble opinion Jimmie Johnson is the G.O.A.T in Nascar.
Question for Jimmie:
Would you ever consider owning a team in one of the national series or even a short track team?
I still remember Fall 2004 Martinsville race like it was yesterday.
That win at Atlanta.
Chills every time.
Every time.
i still think him absolutely sending it into 3 at indy three wide for the lead while blowing up is the most badass thing hes done
That was awesome.
Question for Jimmie: Jimmie what was your personal favorite Win or Paint Scheme?
Spot on.
My favorite Jimmie win was Sonoma 2010. His only win at a road course and I was there! It was so cool witnessing my favorite driver win at my track
Ask Jimmie what win means the most to him and why. This was a fantastic list that I agree with all the way. Great job as usual Jaret
I watched that Atlanta race live and I broke down in tears along side them.
Loved the video man, I am a huge Jimmie Johnson fan (Snibby48) and my question for Jimmie is will you be returning to NASCAR for restrictor plate races? And what races in f1 will you be racing next season? Sorry but I guess that’s 2 questions
great video liked 👍🏁🏆
Question for Jimmie: out of all the special paint schemes he's had on his car, what are his top 3?
I was never a Jimmie Johnson fan. But was always a great driver. Great list
Can’t believe the 🐐 is hanging it up great career JJ 💯💙🤍
“ make room Richard petty and deal Earnhardt there’s another Seventh time champ” I always remember that as one of my greatest moments watching him
Jimmie: what was the process like when Jeff Gordon and Rick Hendrick approached you about driving the 48? Can you describe your emotions and thought process? Were you intimidated at all? Would love to hear more about that transition and the early years in cup at hms
Definitely the win after the plane crash is number one. When you listen to how the drivers past and present speak about Hendrick and Rick as a team owner and boss, that is one unified family. They all hurt when one hurts and they all are happy when one does well. I don't have a bad thing to say about Rick for the opportunities he has given to drivers and what he has done for Jimmie is next level.
The way Jimmie drove it into Turn 4 at the 2005 Coke 600 was amazing. Can’t believe he made didn’t slide up into the wall
My favorite championship win: 2013.
Because of my attendance bias. I will never forget the day I saw my hero win a championship in person. Best. Day. Ever.
great top ten. seeing those wins brings back great memories. hoping he can add one more grandfather clock..
question for jimmie:
so many great wins in your career, what is your top “one that got away” ?
Ask Jimmie Johnson if he has ever been in a race with the intimidator
The only way Id take this list seriously was if the 2004 atlanta win was #1. Thank you. That's when I changed from a 48 Chevrolet fan to a Jimmie Johnson fan for life.
When I was either 2 or 3, my dad took me to a store and we went to the nascar toys, my mom and dad thought I would for sure pick the number 5 car because I liked Speed Racer, but I instead picked the Lowe's #48 Chevy Monte Carlo drove by Jimmie Johnson
I would watch him win 7 championships 5 in a row
His 6th being very special to me because I lost my nanny that year and It made me feel happy again
He will always be my favorite driver
My top 5 of the races I remember
5: 2019 Daytona Clash
4: 2015 Dover (my first race I've been to)
3: 2012 All Star Race (my first memory)
2: 2017 Dover
1: 2016 Homestead
I'd flip the top 2, but great video buddy! 👍🏼
Question for Jimmie: When you were starting NASCAR in the Busch Series, was there any driver you looked up to? And did you ever think that maybe you would make a great role model like you were to me?
I was at the NHMS win in the intro! My first ever race, and I saw my favorite driver win!
His most memorable win would be the 2004 fall race at Atlanta. One of the memorable races ever. Certainly the most emotional win.
The most underrated but his biggest accomplishment of all, maybe the biggest in Nascar history? 5 championships in a row! Regardless of what you think of the Chase in its almost 20 year existence nobody has even won back 2 back championships..5 in a row will never be broken
I don"t have a question but I completely agree with the list its perfect
The #1 win is why Allen Bestwick is an all-time great play by play man. He let the moment breathe.
#OneFinalTime
Question for Jimmie: What are your favorite and least favorite tracks?
Question for Jimmie:
Jimmie you have been my favorite driver since I went to Hendricks Motorsports when I was 3. When I was a little kid every time you win I would run around my house yelling and cheering. Up until 2018 you seemed to be the dominant driver at Hendrick. I still think you probably are. Do they give you a bad car now because their focused on promoting Elliot and Bowman or did so many people leave your team that your car isn’t up to snuff anymore? Thanks a lot if you answer this.
That paint scheme for #8 is slick as sheit.
Great pick for #1. It was awful to see that organization lose so many family and friends in that accident. That win is so much like Steve Parks’ 2001 Rockingham win and Dale Jrs Daytona summer race win.
Mine are when he beat Kenseth at Las Vegas in 2006, the Talladega win where he was pushed by Junior to the checkers, the 2007 Martinsville race where he beats Jeff Gordon by a hair(Jeff would have likely put the bumper to him and got around him if he was in the old car, JJ got helped by the cars being boxy.), the 2005 Coca Cola 600. Also a couple of notables where JJ lost, but still made an impact are The 2008 Pep Boys Auto 500 where Carl Edwards is overwhelmed that Jimmie still managed to finish in the top ten and the 2005 Atlanta race where he loses to Carl Edwards in photo finish. Also my question would be about his Busch Series days.
This is what Michael Mrucz watches when he can’t sleep
I believe that 2011 Talladega win was the race he gave Dale the checkered flag after the race. What a class act
My Question To Jimmie: With all your success in NASCAR, do you feel like you have something to prove in INDYCAR, or does it feel like a fresh start?
I was at the 2005 Coca Cola 600, and that was a crazy long race. Where I was sitting coming out of turn 4 you couldn't tell who won. Also that's the race where Dale Jr wrecked Michael Waltrip on the front stretch, and actually got booed
I JUST TALKED TO JIMMIE ON A ZOOME CALL. He answered a good amount of questions lol
Can you ask Jimmy to stay one more year in NASCAR?? My dad played a round of golf with Jimmy a while ago, my dads name is Steve Holland and he got a picture with Jimmy. It would make my year if Jimmy would be able to do another year of NASCAR and to see if he remembered that year of him playing golf with my dad. My hero needs to have at least one more year in Nascar
A question for JJ:
What was it like having teammates like jeff Gordon and mark Martin during the CoT era where mark was in the 5
Question for Jimmie:
If he were to come back for a race or two next season or in the future, what would that race/races be?
Question for Jimmie: What made you decide IndyCar over the other racing organizations?
Hey Jimmie I just want to say you were always my favorite driver I wish to be like you one day a Nascar champ you made me interested in racing I just want to say thank you Jimmie I will never forget when you signed my hat a chicagoland
Love the guy. But as a Gordon fan, all I felt from 2007 to 2013 is pain.. Nascar will miss you Jimmie. No one will ever do what you did! Enjoy Indy racing!!
Nice one, thought Jimmie getting 4 wins a row would be on this list
1000th like :)
I think that the 2005 Coke 600, 2016 Homestead, 2002 California could all make a case for P1. 2005 he just absolutely blasted through through the field. He came from 25th to 1st in the last 15 laps. 2002, first win, obviously. 2016, definitely his most defining race and moment of his career.
Everytime I see that pass on Bobby Labonte it makes me cry.
Q for Jimmie
"Will you ever race at the new Auto Club Speedway?" Also im a big fan!!
I recently went back and watched his final win which was in 2017 at Dover. It seems like he's fully expecting to keep winning more. He is one win away from tying Darrell Waltrip all time. He had a Cale Yarborough hat on in victory lane in dover
QUESTION FOR JIMMIE: What is your favorite kind of burrito?
I agree with number one. Rip everyone that died that day
My question for Jimmie, what are the most important life lessons you learned from your NASCAR career. Congratulations on one heck of a ride, it's been a genuine pleasure to cheer you on every single Sunday for the last 18 years.
I’m crying 😭
Lifelong Jimmie fan, here’s my question:
At what point during your time in NASCAR did you realize you were good enough to make a career out of being in the sport?
(I’m also a fan of the podcast, congrats to you guys for getting another big name on the show)
Just want to say thank you Jimmie
My Personal Favorite Jimmie Johnson win has to be the 2014 Texas Fall Race because of the insane fight with Brad & Jeff.
Question for JJ: what’s the best car you’ve ever had, that you didn’t win with?
Question for Jimmie:
Your career has been filled with such my success, but are there any areas within racing, family, or life in general you would like to improve upon, or goals to accomplish?
Don’t just ask him. Tell him he has to do the dirt race next year at Bristol
Question for Jimmie:
When you look down the pipeline in NASCAR, are there any drivers in the lower series that you think could have a similar career path to you and be potential stars someday?
Do top 10 Tony Stewart Wins please make this a series BTW it would be so cool!
You should do a top 10 crashes video from each season. Do 2019 first, then go back a season, then again, and again, all the way until 1989.
Small question for Jimmie:
Is 48 your favorite racing number? If you could choose any number for your car, would you still choose the 48? Or something else?
Ask jimmy if he’s planning on running the 24 hours of Daytona.
Question for Jimmie: Who was the driver you look up to when you were growing up
JIMMAY IS A LEGEND!!! #48
You are my favorite driver. The most underrated NASCAR driver ever.
@@RhygonGG yep. I understand that underrated feeling.
@@evildavidragan9292 I know how you feel. David Ragan is a Legend. Of course behing McMurray.
Question for Jimmie:
What was your most memorable win for you. Why is it so memorable?
