Hey guys and welcome back to another video! Here is an easy and inexpensive way to play your Playstation 2 on your HDMI TV! All you need is the adapter and an HDMI cable and you are good to go! I also wanted to share a few troubleshooting tips on how to fix your PS2 when there is no video output showing on your TV or monitor.
Step by Step Tutorial - Changing PS2 Video Output Settings without having any video on the screen (black screen)
1. Connect all cables to the PS2 and TV/Monitor (power cable, HDMI adapter, HDMI cable, controller)
2. Ensure there are no PS2 discs in your playstation
3. Power on your PS2 and wait 30 seconds
4. Make sure your controller is on (red light under 'Mode')
5. D-Pad down once
6. Press X and wait 10 seconds
7. D-Pad down 3 times
8. Press X
9. D-Pad left once
10. Press X
11. This will change your PS2 settings from RGB to Y Cb/Pb Cr/Pr
12. PS2 video should now show up on your screen

Some PS2 to HDMI converters have an additional usb mini power socket on the side that you plug a usb cable into at one end and the other into one of the USB ports at the front of the PS2. This will power up the converter and make the conversion - works for me anyway.

this didn’t work for me :/ I hear it turn on, and I hear the feedback from pressing the buttons and I followed the same code you pressed and it still didn’t give me any video
I am able to configure the RGB/Y Cb/Pb Cr/Pr on the PS2 menu. I can also adjust the toggle switch on the BitFunx adapter as well. When I choose to start the game (any game) it goes to the Playstation splash screen, it goes black, and then it goes immediately to my LG "No Signal" screen. Nothing

🙂 I don't have the hdmi adapter for my PS2 slim, but I do have a component cable instead. 🙂 I, have connect one end of the cable at the back of my PS2 slim and the other end to my HDTV. 🙂 I, have turned on my TV, switch the input to YPBPR mode, turn my PS2 slim on and the picture quality, (plus the sound) is nice.

Hi, I have a PAL PS2 and bought an Hyperkin PS2 to HDMI converter (the one with the switch for the aspect ratio). The first time, I use the composite cable for set up the PS2 on RGB and clearly follow the step by step guide but it doesn't work, only the stable red light when plugged to external power supply (5V-1A). I so tried to make the "blind" modifies (with the no signal screen) changing both the ps2 video aspect settings and the color profile to Y Cr Cb. Made every possible combination but nothing to do, still doesn't work. What can I do? It's my TV fault? I have an Hisense Vidaa H55B7120. Thanks and have a nice day!

@@ryanjames3610 No. I'm gonna attempt to thoroughly clean it on more time. If that doesn't work then I'm just going to bring it to a repair place. I'll keep you posted on what worked.

@@tianacresswell9606 I ended up bringing it for repairs. I figured it's worth getting it repaired by a pro than myself. With myself I'll save money but run the risk of messing it up more. It works now.

Hi, I am good how are you? If the image is not good, I would try using a different HDMI cable to test it. If that doesn’t work, I would reach out to the seller and ask for a replacement. I hope this helps!

My LG tv has the screen purple...
After hooking this up, PS2 games work fine but the PS1 games give me a “No Signal” message. Any ideas why?
My tv does this too. Its because Ps1 games run at 240p. I dont think many (if any) Tvs support resolutions lower than 480p.. So thats the catchhh. So I use my ps3 to play my ps1 games on my hd tv, its a slight inconvenience, but its much cheaper than getting a framemeister or something
@@WusijiDoctor I was able to get it to work. Turns out the adapter he uses in the video is strictly for ps2 to hdmi. It will not work for ps1 games. You have to get an adapter that is for ps1 & ps2 to hdmi. I was able to find a $30 adapter on Amazon that works perfectly.

Slim or Original PS2? Have you tested with a different HDMI cable? Testing with a different monitor/tv?

Might be an issue with your TV display settings? Maybe try adjusting that?
I try it at home, I have this issue, everything works but nothing shows. Music plays, controller works, nothing shows. Ill try it

Hey! Sorry to hear you’re having troubles. Can you try connecting to a different TV/Monitor? Or trying a different HDMI port if possible? I would also test using a different HDMI cable as well. Let’s go through some troubleshooting to isolate the issue.
In my pc monitor its says hdmi out of range what does that mean and how solve it

Maybe you have to play around with the settings of the monitor to ensure the resolution is supported? Which monitor do you have?

@@jrellhrel6538 I thought you meant that the resolution was not right. If the video is cut in half, can you test with a different HDMI cable? With a different monitor/TV? If that doesn't work, you might need to get a replacement for your converter.
