When I was a young man my dad told me "Cheer up things could get worse", so I cheered up and things got worse.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
My ol man told me, "Happy the F up!"
My dad said the same thing and he was right lol

Homer Simpson “worst day of your life so far”
It really says a lot about Steve's reputation that someone from France is having his engine built here by the Morris fam and sent all the way back across the Atlantic. Shoutout to Kyle, really growing in his skills and doing so well.
Steve should be proud of how far Kyle has come.

I assume anyone who dislikes got beat by one of steves engines lol
Right!
😂😂😅😂😅😂😅 that's a lot of dislikes
Could have possibly been this kid talking about his engine. It has a polished block, it has a polished..who gives a rats ass, we can see the mofo glistening like a huge diamond ring. Letting all the world know IM RICH. And then to stand back and watch his 10:22 friend lift a fully assembled 14/ 71 roots blower chest high, just my 2 cents on all the dislikes.
I bought a bill mitchell block for my turbo charged max wedge built. The porosity in the main and cam bores covered about 15% of the surface, all of the threads had the peaks ripped out, and there was an entire 2"x1" chunk welded back onto the corner of the oil pan rail before it was machined. When I finally convinced him to accept a return he bitched about the orange paint marker I used to circle the welded area because he's just going to sell it to someone else.
Bought a keith black block for $1000 more and it's leaps and bounds better in every aspect including customer support. One of the core plugs had a damaged thread, when I called them they sent an entire set free of charge
Having spent 30 odd years in the motorsport game you quickly learn that when playing with horsepower, sometimes the horse kicks you in the arse.
That Hemi is one beautiful jewel. Hope to see pics of it in the car
That's life when you're at the top of your profession!
have to start making HEMI engines now
Just saw you leaving the freedom factory! You’re the man Steve!
Its crazy to see how far these guys have come with being comfortable and being themselves on camera than when they first started. Keeps getting better and better.
The local Gendarmes here in France will absolutely love him when it hits the street. That’s after he’s paid an absolute fortune to get it into the country.
You’re not the best because you are perfect every time you’re the best because you are there till the end and make sure it’s right before it goes out to your customers.
Not knocking him as he does great work but what's your basis for saying he's the best?
@@UKMechanic He is one of the top engine builders in the industry not to mention the innovation in the billet LS style SMX and SML blocks that he machines. Just for starters.
@@brian953994 No doubt that make him one of the best but does it make him THE best. Perhaps that's not what you meant. It's just one of my pet peeves that so many think the company, whatever the industry, who has the best social media following is automatically the number one in their field.
Shit happens when you're pushing the envelope.
has nothing to do with that. bill mitchell engines fucked up and didn't fully seat the sleeves before shipping the block
Good job Kyle... getting more comfortable in front of the camera...
Congratulations Kyle! You are definitely settling in in front of the camera. Don't forget that you are a bad ass and that camera is your bitch.
He definitely has his father’s mannerisms and got the head nod and hand movements down pat. He’s becoming a natural on camera and doing great.

I can imagine this in Europe. It will be a head turner. Wow.
You’re a true pro Steve to fix someone else’s mistake. The frenchies took that engine to the right place. 👍🏻
Be kewl if the owner, would share back or post his own videos once he gets the engine in France…
I'm French and trust me idk how he gonna drive this on open road cuz inspection are very strict. U.S is open minded on car modification, France is big no no sadly. Not even like Germany where you can get a "custom registration", France it's impossible
@@kermitahnenerbe3722with the kind of money the owner has and it naturally being known as a “vintage collector car”. They’ll probably give it a mileage exception saying it can be driven no more than 5k Kilometers a year or something stupid. He’ll be on the street im sure.
@@tannerharkey You can't even have a fake supercharger in aluminum. I heard a guy had to remove it cuz it's was a risk of more injury if he collides with pedestrian.
Another guy with a wing in alumium (oldschool tuning crap), had to remove it too.
The guy is full of sh*t cuz he thinks he can only get a ticket... but they can impound vehicles and you take it deep the a..
Can’t remember the last time I seen a 14-71 High Helix from BDS. Those are pricey units + polish. Gonna blow the hides off the Charger.
Really sucks when you can’t even rely on/assume someone before you did their job correctly

The dyno room window shure is clean!
Needs the Greta & Animal Farm decals to be complete. Especially since this engine is going over to Europe!
Only problem is the "How dare you!" decal is missing.
If it happened when he got it back in his car, THAT would have been a bad day.
Great job, Morris's!

Wow; that Hemi is like one giant piece of polished jewelry ! Sorry about the sleeve issue. Your customer has been treated very well and is happy ; so congrats to SME for that. Great video and many thanks.
It's nice to see that even the pros have issues once in a while. So far, I'm 9weeks out on a set of valves 10weeks on the cam and block just showd that it needs a sleeve.
What's the common reason that the sleeves dropped? Because usually their bottomed out pretty well upon assembly.
After 50 years in the business I found out long ago,it happens, especially when you rely on previous work by who knows who. We learned that lesson from having to relick the calf. I’m sure you will not forget what happened here as to not repeat. Always check everything possible. It’s good insurance. Nice facility and hope you get everything back up and working and it’s not too costly.
My favorite clip in your into is Steve and his wife.

Pretty cool y'all let the owner get his hands on the guts of his own mill
And its real good you guys caught the issues during dyno break in .
So if you didn't build it, how are you eating it???

you mean crepes. you know, the really thin pancakes?
Awesome video guys enjoy watching them thats tough seeing sleeves drop in it damn !
Man I love those electronic torque + angle wrenches!
Thank goodness didn’t have to change rod length or piston with having to mill the block.. or a new sleeve set i know only couple thousandths but things add up quick when thinks go wrong $
One of the MOST difficult things is getting a new ready to run Chrysler block. Seems no matter who made the block you literally need eyes in the back of your head. I hope the new Callies blocks are better. Good find you guys, and great diplomatic relations with your French friend. No finger pointing going on, just let's fix it and git'er done. 👍

Crazy for a car in Europe. Great video once again. I feel your pain having things go wrong. At least you have a plan!
Sucks when we take for granted that other work was done properly and come to find out it was not.
On a daily basis I get parts that are not up to part for one reason or another. Nothing to this level of building engines or repairs, but still the same concept. Issues with things outside of one's control that eats up time and money. Sucks.
You guys rock. Thanks for the video.
Keep pushing on it'll get better with determination.
Always enjoy your content. Props to Steve, Kyle and staff. Keeping it real.

Boy I’d love to see that running in the charger. That’s a really really nice piece.
I'd really like to see how to properly install engine sleeves. Including boring the block and step and the heating,or cooling and especially the tooling to drive the sleeves in or??
Kyle does well on camera. Shiny, shiny!
As a business owner myself, sometimes you eat it and fix it and move on.
The blower idler should be pushing rather than pulling, it gives more wraps to the pully.

At 1:53 you can hear Kyle chuckle just like his dad lol
Great video Kyle.
It is so cool seeing you leave room for these young guys. You are so smart Steve!
But that is Steel and Aluminum guys, alu is always flexing regardless of argument.
Would it be worth the effort to have "fire rings" from the heads to the blocks water jackets? Would that help aviod gaskets lifting OR would it be better to know when the gaskets lift in order to avoid further damage?
Save me Jesus rock. SAVE ME!
That machine sounds so beautiful on that dyno.
Great job guys. You shouldn't have gotten stuck with eating the rebuild.
Maybe yes and maybe no. When you get parts to assemble an engine it would seem that who ever installed the sleeves should have sent paperwork saying that they were installed and bottomed out in the block. If no paperwork then that should have been verified by Steve Morris Engines. If that is the only problem with this build then the owner of the engine should be thrilled and Steve learned a valuable lesson. Of course Steve will make it right.
Top hat sleeves avoid this problem.
Have u seen sleeves drop like that before? Man that sucks to have to redo that
Not normally, have a look at some top fuel guy rebuilds….
I have a block where the previous owner thought water was coming from a crack between sleeves in the deck. It turns out the sleeve slid down the bore reducing the fire ring compression, letting water and combustion gasses to mix. It's a simple fix.
Now, my Steve Morris moment came when I was drilling out the oil passages from the oil gallery to the main bearing bores. I broke the end of the 12" drill off in the last hole I had to drill. I now need to fix both issues. The piece broke off is about 3" long. I tried to stick weld a welding rod to slide hammer it out, to no avail. Tried a couple of drill bit ideas, like diamond bits, but that didn't work. Now, I get to buy a long hard bit and use a mill to try and reduce the bit to iron dust.
Moral of the story is to replace the drill bit on every engine. You aren't alone! We definitely do not need to take up flying!
Find a shop that can spark erode it. It's like reverse arc welding under water where the stuck bolt or drill bit is the electrode only it sparks off int bits in the water. I broke off a screw extractor in a broken exhaust stud in a diesel cylinder head.
Nice work Kiel
Nice job one little problem you don’t run the sealing rings at the bottom of the spark plugs on a hemi .the spark plug tube is the seal the ring cuts the spark plug tube causing a oil leak
Raced a SSEA 66 street hemi for years motor by Vanke, headby Barton. Vanke told me to keep washers on plugs. They did cut into tunes but I ran milodon, tube seals. No leaks.
Outstanding job Kyle. That Charger is going to pass everything but a gas station. Gas in France is roughly $7.14 per gallon. It`s 1.86 per liter, 3.84 litre is 1 gallon. Expensive ride.
The engine cost over $50k, I’m sure he doesn’t care about price of fuel.
