It really says a lot about Steve's reputation that someone from France is having his engine built here by the Morris fam and sent all the way back across the Atlantic. Shoutout to Kyle, really growing in his skills and doing so well.
We run into a problem almost every time we assume another party has done what they are supposed to and dont check the work. Unfortunately it is insanely time consuming to not only do your own work but check everyone else's
Its crazy to see how far these guys have come with being comfortable and being themselves on camera than when they first started. Keeps getting better and better.
The local Gendarmes here in France will absolutely love him when it hits the street. That’s after he’s paid an absolute fortune to get it into the country.
You’re not the best because you are perfect every time you’re the best because you are there till the end and make sure it’s right before it goes out to your customers.
@UKMechanic He is one of the top engine builders in the industry not to mention the innovation in the billet LS style SMX and SML blocks that he machines. Just for starters.
Could have possibly been this kid talking about his engine. It has a polished block, it has a polished..who gives a rats ass, we can see the mofo glistening like a huge diamond ring. Letting all the world know IM RICH. And then to stand back and watch his 10:22 friend lift a fully assembled 14/ 71 roots blower chest high, just my 2 cents on all the dislikes.
I bought a bill mitchell block for my turbo charged max wedge built. The porosity in the main and cam bores covered about 15% of the surface, all of the threads had the peaks ripped out, and there was an entire 2"x1" chunk welded back onto the corner of the oil pan rail before it was machined. When I finally convinced him to accept a return he bitched about the orange paint marker I used to circle the welded area because he's just going to sell it to someone else. Bought a keith black block for $1000 more and it's leaps and bounds better in every aspect including customer support. One of the core plugs had a damaged thread, when I called them they sent an entire set free of charge
It's nice to see that even the pros have issues once in a while. So far, I'm 9weeks out on a set of valves 10weeks on the cam and block just showd that it needs a sleeve. What's the common reason that the sleeves dropped? Because usually their bottomed out pretty well upon assembly.
Thank goodness didn’t have to change rod length or piston with having to mill the block.. or a new sleeve set i know only couple thousandths but things add up quick when thinks go wrong $

It is so cool seeing you leave room for these young guys. You are so smart Steve! But that is Steel and Aluminum guys, alu is always flexing regardless of argument.
Outstanding job Kyle. That Charger is going to pass everything but a gas station. Gas in France is roughly $7.14 per gallon. It`s 1.86 per liter, 3.84 litre is 1 gallon. Expensive ride.
After 50 years in the business I found out long ago,it happens, especially when you rely on previous work by who knows who. We learned that lesson from having to relick the calf. I’m sure you will not forget what happened here as to not repeat. Always check everything possible. It’s good insurance. Nice facility and hope you get everything back up and working and it’s not too costly.
Love it!!!! Steve and Kyle working as a team on these last couple of videos is awesomeness!! Can you guys please do a “will it run when you put a sml in some random junkyard car”
Maybe yes and maybe no. When you get parts to assemble an engine it would seem that who ever installed the sleeves should have sent paperwork saying that they were installed and bottomed out in the block. If no paperwork then that should have been verified by Steve Morris Engines. If that is the only problem with this build then the owner of the engine should be thrilled and Steve learned a valuable lesson. Of course Steve will make it right.
