    I thought it might be the metering diaphragm in the carb. Most people don't use premium gas and marine grade stabilizer. I've had an 028 Super for the last 30 years. Love it.

    I love 028's one of my favorite saws. Up until I got bit by the bigger saw bug I ran 028 exclusivley! Far as the Dolmar goes I believe it leaned out because the impulse line came off cylinder!

  • @larryreno8293
    @larryreno8293 3 роки тому +4

    Not bad for 47cc & $75.00. Looks like you got a good deal. As far as the dolmar goes, the piston damage could have been caused by several things. The saw could have over heated, a dull chain and working hard will over heat it causing the piston to expand beyond its normal size. It could also be a cold seizure. If you put a cold saw to work without a warmup the piston expands faster than the cylinder causing scuffing. And the last thing is lack of oil/ poor oil... If it were a lean failure there is usually some sign on the piston edge at the exhaust port where the hot gasses burn the carbon off the piston and may even slightly melt he edge of the piston. Good luck.

    • @OhioHillTopsHobbyFarm
      @OhioHillTopsHobbyFarm  3 роки тому +1

      Hey Thanks Larry! Yes with the Dolmar I would almost say it over heated, I was in a bar deep cherry making cuts on a really hot day. Probably just worked it a bit to much! I sure appreciate the feedback, lessoned learned for me haha. These rebuilds are a lot more than the 50-60cc saws 🤠 take care!

    I can’t figure out what is wrong with my 028 for the life of me. New OEM carb, pickup line, pulse line, fuel filter, new plug and new air filter. Runs great for roughly 10 minutes or maybe 1/3rd of a tank and then it won’t go past 1/2 throttle. Sits there and four strokes something fierce with a little bit of smoke. Never replaced the vent line though. 🤔

    • @OhioHillTopsHobbyFarm
