    Because it is one thing to have immigration to jobs, it is another thing to have immigration to WELFARE! Milton got it way back then, why can't people understand this principle now?

      More Whites are on Welfare NOT immigrants. These are lies told to us. They know more Whites are on Welfare which includes social security, disability and state assistance.

    Mr. I, Pencil himself, Milton Friedman. I remember watching him on The Donahue Show with my late father’s grandparents, when I was a child. They, Kennedy democrats, would just sat and listen to him. Timeless wisdom.

    What a wisdom. I listen many lectures and debates of Milton Freedman including Thomas Sowell about economics and they are a head of their time. Wisdom flows from them!

    It's so simple and yet half of our country is still too stupid to understand it

      In 2024 it is well above half of the country that fails to understand this. the majority of the major party members fail to grasp this and that is nowhere near a majority of Americans.

    I usually agree with Milton Friedman, but I don't know what he considers Free Immigration.
    The US has always had immigration Standards and would often turn back immigrants at Ellis Island and other Ports of Entry.

    It's a complex answer, but I'll give it a shot. In the 1910s, almost every person walking on planet earth was, in some ways, a skilled worker. This was, of course, a necessity back then as you needed to have multiple skills as a working class citizen in order to be able to provide for your family and yourself. The US was an emeeging superpower in the 1910 and most certainly after WWI. The nation was developing at an incredible rate, so the answer boils down to supply and demand. The demands for skilled workers existed. Therefore, the demand was met in the form of migrants. Not only were these migrants skilled, they were also very much like us. They believed in all the same things we stand for today. So ideologically speaking, we were generally one. Also, free immigration does not equal illegal immigration. The US allowed these immigrants to come through the border, and that is a very important distinction. Free does not equal illegal. That just means that at a certain point in history, the US allowed mass immigration to further its industrial goals. Once the demand was met, it seized. Also, just because immigration was good at one point does not necessarily mean that it is always good, and two, the still have a demand for skilled migrants and thats why over 2 million migrants are LEGALLY processed into the US, every year.

    We never talk about how Europe owns most of the credit card companies and has created welfare state in the USA.

    • @ohiowalnut
      @ohiowalnut 10 місяців тому +1

      It is still the choice of U.S. citizens to take out high interest credit cards, knowing full well the negative aspects of such short sighted transactions. Just as it is the ignorant choices of U.S. citizens to partake in overeating, tobacco usage, alcohol use, and illegal drug usage. I don't blame the provider, I blame each ignorant individual for his or her bad choices. Including myself, as I am an overeater. I don't blame Texas Roadhouse for knowing how to cook a steak and potato and offering it to me at a reasonable price!🙂

    But as a group immigrants, if allowed to work, take less from wealthfare than people born in thr country. They also contribute to an economy through taxes. I msgrants are more likely to start their own businesses and create employment opportunities

      Not at all. In fact, other than the Chinese exclusion act, the main targets of the anti immigration movement were southern Europeans and the Irish. Specifically, they wanted to keep out Catholics. There were no restrictions on Hispanic immigration until 1965.

      @@ResoundGuy5 immigrants don't and CANT receive welfare. The narrative that immigrants come to the country and just do nothing is wrong. Plus actual stats show that crime and crime rates from immigrants is absurdly low when compared to crimes from actual citizens.
