      What "brilliance"? He only states what actually happened. Think about it. Anybody who is doing well in their own country won't leave it. Hell, how many of y'all are leaving your own home state?
      What triggered "The Great Migration"? Black folks from the South were getting lynched and suffered discrimination while the Southern economy was contracting following the first World War. Industry was being built in the North and there were jobs available. If you were Black living in the South, you do the math.
      Stating obvious facts doesn't make anyone a "genius" any more than saying "water is wet" makes somebody smart.

    There wasn't a welfare state then. Also, what did some (but not others) of the immigrants vote for subsequently? Did they vote for the welfare state? You really need to be careful who you let in and give voting rights to. Great thing about immigration is that countries have a choice, they can pick who they let in. They should exercise that choice and only let in good people, keeping bad ones out.

    • @aarondelafuente8507
      @aarondelafuente8507 6 місяців тому

      Also, not only was there no welfare system back then but all immigrants were vetted and had to make it here on their own merits and efforts. They were sponsored and the sponsor was responsible for helping them while here and the thing was that the government would not get involved in the immigrants support. They either made it here or they left, and some did leave and go back to where they came from. Milton foresaw that if you were going to have an immigration system it was either free and without government support (i.e. welfare) or restricted with welfare support but they could not be free with welfare, for that would be disastrous. He wasn't wrong about that as the current administration is busy demonstrating!
