Now that's a car. My favourite car I have owned was a 2.5L Petrol V6 and it sounded so good but was not a patch on that nor had the safety of 4 wheel drive. It looks like you had a lot of fun in that.

I get where people are coming from with regards to a ford puma, however, I think there’s bits and pieces in every manufacturer that mirror each other. For me???? Bought a Modena Prima Series, so with all the kit thrown in, in April. Couldn’t afford the Trofeo or the running costs! Interior sold it for me. Agree about the gear selector buttons and indicators. Fast enough for me. Goes well and ride on 21 inch wheels seems good. Come down a size and it is noticeable in handling, but loosing nothing on interior space. Seems to be some software glitches, and hopefully mine will get sorted soon. So far enjoying and a rare sight!
Hi Mike, I am torn between a Macan GTS as the PCP is affordable & the Grecale as it looks superior in finish (No one does leather like the Italians) & a better boot space but…. 330bhp v 440 is my worry. Like you say, unless the Trofeo has a fantastic residual & low rate finance, I fear, like you, it will be too expensive. Please let me know how you get on with 330bhp & a 4 cylinder? Thank you

Ped, please, please test drive the Modena! I commented earlier on your report without watching the full video & turned away from the Grecale but…. Now learning a bit more about it, I would love to know what ‘you’ think of the Modena version. I am meant to be placing an order for a new Macan GTS in September for delivery Summer 24 but this has now really caught my eye. The PCP on a GTS @ circa £78k for my spec is affordable but a £100k for the Trofeo would be ridiculous unless it has a great RV & low rate PCP? The Modena might, might be a fair compromise but 330bhp, I’d need to see your review / test drive 1st please .
Firstly, I'm a absolute sucker for a dark blue car with a cream interior, so the GT was jaw dropping for me. But that said - I actually preferred the soundtrack to the GT, albeit "enhanced". The six pot was a bit... "meh..." And as you say, 100K? they're just being silly, but no doubt they'll catch a few before they let the price down slowly

@@PetrolPed I had a Stelvio Quadrifoglio for 4 years and here in the Swiss Alps I wouldn't want a bigger car - so I get your point about feeling small and I say the Levante is too big, as is the GranTurismo. I do know that many Levante owners love the air suspension which the Stelvio doesn't have making the Grecale an interesting proposition... I also had a go in a Trofeo, loved it, but the pricing put me off. I hadn't considered the other models - was surprised by your comments on the GT and maybe the Modena is the one to go for... did you perhaps get to drive one off camera?
Take it from a current Modena owner, wait a year before buying into the platform. There are so many issues with it being so new. I’ve had my car for 5 weeks and it’s been in the service center for the past 3 weeks and Maserati cannot fix it. There are going to be tons of software updates and Maserati are not making use of over the air updates so be prepared to spend your life at the dealership. It’s funny how Maserati turn off the key and keyless entry beep sound when giving it to reviewers to review as all the car does is beep to the point where I have been contacted by my HOA about it and received a letter from a neighbor. Don’t get me wrong, it will be a great car but they need to sort out the issues and do something with the price.
Looks really nice Pete, dare I say it.. my 1st thought on seeing it was Porsche Macan. I would imagine Maserati have pushed the boat out in performance terms to ensure nothing similar is on par ....... but Circa 100k, I would be worried about two things if I took one over a Macan..... 1) reliability 2) depreciation. It will be a rarer sight than a Macan though & the interior looks really nice ..... Try for a full Trofeo review 👍🏻
To my eyes, better looking than the Porsche Macan and most other rivals. The Italians know how to do flair way better than the rest and the name Maserati is so evocative. I hope this car does well, the Levante was never in the running, lets hope this one is.
Looks great but the gear change buttons are horrendous - hope the manufacturers get it right soon again. Same for all the touch controls - pathetic (hidden) attempt on margin increase in a high price segment.
At the price, I am honestly not sure what the Troffeo is trying to compete with. I just went on to the configurator here in the US and with the options you might want it is $113K, compared to a Macan fully kitted out it just edges $100K. The GT and Moderna I think are comparable with an S Macan. Now Macan is due a face lift when they introduce the EV version in parallel with petrol versions in 6 months to a year and I am sure the price will go up.
Yup. My thoughts exactly. Really it should be a £75-£80k car plus a small amount of optional extras to bring it in at around he same price as a fully kitted Macan. I have just gone on the configurator and ticked pretty much every box and still came in under £100k

Hmm, I'd rather have a Macan if I was in the market for something like this. I mean most cars are an outrageous price but if I heard that correct, 62k for the base model with a 4 pot 206 bhp? Crackers. The next model up you said has a 'bit' more power? I don't call 50% a bit if its got over 300 bhp? The interior does look good and I'm happy that Maserati is keeping going but it just makes going for something 2 or 3 years old a much better idea.
Trofeo smells like a new long termer... They should build a Maserati hot hatch based on the Modena and maybe even the Trofeo to compete with M2 and the AMG's.

I like the car, but it's Italian and we all that anything Italian will stop working sooner than later. Think of it like an Italian coffee machine it's good for 2 weeks and then you and your mates have a piss up The next morning, you all have Hangovers, and you need your coffee .You walk up to the coffee machine, and it doesn't work You try everything. You even flash yourself at it, but it's no good. Italian cars are not much different.😊😊😊

Are Maserati for real? £100k when you can have one of the best performance compact SUVs ie the Macan GTS with bullet proof residual values for around £80k as opposed to a £100k for this 😂.. I wouldn’t even bother. At least £20k overpriced 👎

You say it has a "smaller footprint" than the Stelvio - it's built on the same Giorgio platform but it is 159mm (6.3-in) longer!

The entire car is based on the stelvio, side profile is almost identical

This is exactly what I said in the video. £80-85k for the Trofeo seems about right and it would destroy a Macan.

@@PetrolPed I disagree. It cannot park in a small city-spot like the Mini Cooper. And it will never feel like your Boxster GTS or my 718 Spyder on a narrow B-road. It's to high, to wide and to long. If you can afford it, then you can afford more suitable cars for the same budget. Greetings from Schwarzwald on holiday with friends and Porsches.
