To add to this, I think somewhere in the dreamscape pass where you put your stickers, or at some point in the story Mage has done it says that time in the dream is synced to reality to avoid weird brain problems and such, so yes Firefly's real body is slowly fading away while in the dream as well, she's just temporarily unable to feel the restraints since the dream's body isn't her real body.
This one, this part of the story, always takes my heart out. The atmosphere, the music, the voice acting. From that moment on, I will always love Firefly's character and cherish every moment we spent with her. Its more sad to learn that both the japanese and english VAs for Firefly connect to her so well due to having similar illnesses, yet they keep going with what they do best. Peak character, and peak actor choices.
I genuinely can't express how much joy I'm feeling right now! I waited 8 months to see your reaction to this moment, and I'm glad you've finally seen it! Firefly is one of my favorite characters in this game; She's so damn well written, and her amazing voice performance (done by the wonderful Analesa Fisher) never fails to make me sweat profusely from my eyes. to answer ur question, without spoiling upcoming stuff that will be explained later, your body is just basically asleep in the pool you first went into to enter golden hour. even if your body were to be weaker, look different, sound different etc in the real world, you would still look and sound however way u want to in the dream. that's what firefly was talking about her being able to do stuff she normally wouldnt be able to in the real world. your body will still deteriorate in the real world while you're asleep, time is still passing after all, even if it feels like it isnt in the dream. like i said, there are still some things u havent learned about the dream scape and everything, so dont worry if you're a bit confused. the story is really only just actually starting from here on out😭
The music that plays when you're exploring that area is one of my favorite tracks. Also you can sometimes push objects onto enemies that are below you when you're playing as Hanu. Mage: Robin you're making this even more emotional. Can you stop singing? I'm tearing a little bit... Me: No you have to cry with us!
Yeah, if you want to know what's going on in Penacony without spoiling... Well go to dream nurse Giovanna who sits next to the stairs outside our room. She has some interesting explanations for you. Also since you unlocked Clockie statue - most of the Clockie money come from amazing side quests which show you various individuals and their lives (NPCs with broken Clockwork) - they really show you what the dream space is really about and the rules/possibilities very nicely (this is why its better not to explain anything because it might ruin those quests). Those quests are amazing and a bit more interactive/complex than in previous planets - there are a couple of them that I'm sure people would love to watch, especially if you find NPCs named Mr. Chadwick or Cocona. Tbh I think it's a great break between Penacony acts to really understand what's going on in this crazy world As for Firefly, her VA casting is wonderful. There's also a very good representation for disabled people bc her VA has very similar condition in real life and she talked a lot about how important this role was for her and other people. Like seriously whoever is casting these people in English really knows what they're doing
The relics you will get from the foxian quest in fyxestroll garden is the prisoner set which is for dot characters like Black Swan and Kafka, Acheron's best relic set is the deep diver set and you can only get it once you go a little further into Penacony and unlock the required map in Penacony

Ahhh I love Firefly! This scene definitely made me a fan lol. Also yeah I had some trouble playing through this patch with the boss fights you’ll see later. Made sense for why they just gave Dr. Ratio to everyone for free lol. Thankfully when the next patch happened Acheron came out and she basically makes the game way easier now!

this part of the story has solidified firefly to be on of my favorite characters from all media I've consumed ever. i too have an invisible chronic illness similar to hers, so maybe its just me being able to relate to her in a ton of aspects, but DAMN, i love her. i cant wait for you to find out more about her and her story, she's such a well written character and I'm so glad u seem to love her already :) her VA is analesa fisher, and they really did do such an incredible job, the emotion in their voice during some of the scenes make me tear up
Yes, everyone's body is still in real world hotel from what I've understand. That's why they can forcibly wake people up from the dream world. But there are also people who can only live their lives in the dream world, people who are bedridden from illness or other reasons. Their bodies are on life support in real world hotel while their mind is in the dream.
The rooftop place really is phenomenal. I got lucky winning my 50/50 when I pulled for Firefly at that place while fronting the sky with meteor showers. Good ritual, highly recommend if you want to pull for her.
To really explain the dreamworld stuff, basically while the people are in the Dream Pools, their consciousnesses are sent to essentially a shared dream. Physically, their bodies are still in the pools in their rooms, but mentally they are able to experience a lucid dream with everyone else. The reason a lot of people are saying to talk to the NPCs with the clockwork ability is because some of the quests that really get into what this little disconnect entails are behind those. Overall not too terribly important for the main story directly, but they do expand upon the world and flesh out some of the questions that are being raised.
The way I understand the dream world here, it's like the matrix? Like a fully immersive dream that everyone shares but you are all technically asleep/unconscious. So yes, they are all asleep in the same place they were before they entered the dream.
So, both Firefly's JP, and EN Voice Actors have similar conditions as Firefly herself does. They're not the same conditions as each other, but all 3; Firefly's own condition, the JP VA's condition, and the EN VA's condition are all similar. I have roughly the same condition as the JP VA (few minor differences), so I could say more, but I don't really have anything to say besides _Yeah, Firefly pretty much nails how it feels living like this._

16:00 There are some emotion-related sidequests. A few of which have a better story than even the main quest itself IMO. But the issue is you can only find these quests by talking to NPCs and playing with their emotions. Maybe we could compile a list for you of NPCs/places where these quests start. You could check them out either on stream or on video. But probably only after finishing Penacony main story. You'll soon be caught up on the major version main quests, and these side quests might be nice before 3.0
I forgot to mention this to my previous comment if you hear a bird chirping nearby it means your near one of the tweety birds, also there's a different set of birds you need to collect with every map so yes there's a different set of birds as well in golden hour that you skipped talking to. 😅 If you return back at golden hour try clicking on all the money machine to unlock an achievement and try using their street phones (that look like big mouth on the walls if i could remember) for hilarious interactions and dialogue about certain characters in the game. Also if you bought the dream bubble before from dr. Edward you can actually give that to PomPom and get a unique dialogue about it. 😊 edit: you also skipped a sticker at 42:27 there was collectable sticker in front of you and 44:40 you also skipped one of the tweety birds 😅
I looove the dreamticker puzzles. Also those stairs puzzle also reminds me of Inception when they used Penrose stairs in the dream. This area and scene in general gives me a lot of later Final Fantasy vibes. I love it and I love Firefly. ♥

While her body is frail and weak in reality, she can escape it by going to a dream because "you can realize your desires" in a dream. I highly recommend regular trips to the Parlor Car and speaking to all the visitors, Misha became one after you helped him, I think. Each one gives you some free swag and a one-time conversation, but you only get it once. you're right. I wasn't born in 2005. I was born much, much earlier than that. good call! The emo gear mechanic is optional, until it isn't. Firefly was already interesting to me as a character design. Then I heard the VA. Then I heard the story. One of my favorite characters in any game so far.
Hey Mage! Here's a few tidbits you might like. The music for the Dream's Edge is called Halfway House, if you want to look it up. Analesa Fisher is the English VA for Firefly, and she has a chronic condition too. I remember hearing that she was getting very emotional reading her script and the character, and it really comes out in her performance. No one's physical body is in the dream, but at least when Firefly's in the dream she doesn't have to deal with her disease, even if it's worsening in reality. If you stand at the railing in her hideout, there is an investigation point that has different dialogue depending on how far along in Penacony you are. Also, it's just as you said - the view is stunning. I've taken some screenshots with Acheron (and Firefly) there myself. You can actually refuse to be in the picture with Firefly - she won't force you. Why you would, is beyond me, but some people have done it. Finally, there are three Firefly-related trailers, but they're still spoilers, so not yet. Looking forward to the next one!
To be as spoiler free as possible 1 hr in a dream is 1 hr irl Your body will be asleep in the bath water while you dream. The water will monitor your rate heart etc, if your heart rate too high it will force you back into real world
Dr. Ratio is a super well-written character. They made him a super good guy that means well for people at large and dedicates his life to educating and bettering their lives...but that doesn't make him any less insufferable
At 34:43 if i can remember if you did that puzzle you either unlock another chess or you unlock another owl thing that will help you cross over back to the other side, bypassing what he did in the video 😂😂😂 Also i know you don't like the ncp's emotion change thingie but in order to get stickers and "quotes" for your dreampass you need to change certain npc's emotions to get them. Just a heads up you'll be using that emotion thingie a lot later in the story and a lot of those quest about it are quite good, you'll also be shock on how the npc's response with every different emotions just dont forget to return them back to their default emote or you'll not be able to access to any dialogue/shop for that matter, example one of the npc sells food that is quite useful giving buffs in game (like my favorite item the chocolate cake that can buff your team party extra break damage or that item that can help you recover technique points especially when you have Acheron) but if you don't return that person into their default emotion you won't be able to access the shop anymore.
Ah yes, the famous moment the HSR fandom calls "the rooftop scene"... Where so many people teared up, where so many people found in Firefly the MC's perfect waifu... (so many people = me) What Firefly is talking about, her hopes for a normal life, how she wants to forget about her illness even for a brief moment... It's such a real thing in real life.
Ah Firefly. Absolute GF material(for me atleast. Some people kinda don't like her). This made me want to pull for her(and further in the story,the game REALLY made me want to pull for her. Of course not gonna spoil why). I really wanted to hug her in this scene. Ah,my heart aches. Also,odd but perfect timing to do the Foxian Tale of the Haunted quest on Halloween. About how the dreamscape works: yes, it is all just a dream, a controlled, shared dream. Your real body is still in the bath tub, and time is still running for you there. So, you could, theoretically, just die in real life and outright disappear from the dream.
I thought this, too. It would make sense overall. But it does come with some unexplained stuff, especially with the revelation at the end of 2.0. I hope you get what I mean without getting into spoilers.
Some of the best quests are adventure quests in Penacony. It’s fine if you wait until the end of Penacony, but please check them out and record them eventually. There are five in particular that are fantastic, including one that is not available until the Penacony arc is mostly done.
Spoiler free about Firefly. Her sleeping body in the real world is getting the medical help she needs to not get worse while she's in the dream. Just like you're asleep in a pool of sedatives, she's presumably sedated and hooked up to IVs and stuff.
When exploring on your own, you might want to lower the volume of the BGM a bit, so you can better locate the hidden origami birds. I loved how one of them hid in the flowers during Firefly's sad story. It did not make it into the selfie, though. 😁 You run past quite a few of them, inclusive smashing one in a balloon unsuccessfully. As the rewards are really useful, you might want to find a lot of them (IIRC you need to find 20 from each flock to get the respective final reward).

Mage you don't have to record it but do the blue missions and clockwork in downtime when you feel like it. Penacony has the most engaging npcs I have seen in this game so far. Also you get clockie credits from it so eventually you may have to do it......
do what you like mate, changing npc emotions - you can do that on your own, plus most side quest will make you do it, they always lead in that direction, the whole world is made for a reason that relate to the peoples emotions. oh and one thing if you want to concider, make sure you check all mesages from misha and gallagher before you finish penacony.... there is reason i wont spoil but please dont miss those messages, you will understand when you done with the world why.

While her body is frail and weak in reality, she can escape it by going to a dream because "you can realize your desires" in a dream. Yes, your real body is just asleep in the dream pool while you're running around as your dream self in the dreamscape.

Firefly was already interesting to me as a character design. Then I heard the VA. Then I heard the story. One of my favorite characters in any game so far.

The music for the Dream's Edge is called Halfway House, if you want to look it up.
Analesa Fisher is the English VA for Firefly, and she has a chronic condition too. I remember hearing that she was getting very emotional reading her script and the character, and it really comes out in her performance. No one's physical body is in the dream, but at least when Firefly's in the dream she doesn't have to deal with her disease, even if it's worsening in reality.
If you stand at the railing in her hideout, there is an investigation point that has different dialogue depending on how far along in Penacony you are. Also, it's just as you said - the view is stunning. I've taken some screenshots with Acheron (and Firefly) there myself.
You can actually refuse to be in the picture with Firefly - she won't force you. Why you would, is beyond me, but some people have done it.
Finally, there are three Firefly-related trailers, but they're still spoilers, so not yet.

Dr. Ratio is a super well-written character. They made him a super good guy that means well for people at large and dedicates his life to educating and bettering their lives...but that doesn't make him any less insufferable

Also i know you don't like the ncp's emotion change thingie but in order to get stickers and "quotes" for your dreampass you need to change certain npc's emotions to get them. Just a heads up you'll be using that emotion thingie a lot later in the story and a lot of those quest about it are quite good, you'll also be shock on how the npc's response with every different emotions just dont forget to return them back to their default emote or you'll not be able to access to any dialogue/shop for that matter, example one of the npc sells food that is quite useful giving buffs in game (like my favorite item the chocolate cake that can buff your team party extra break damage or that item that can help you recover technique points especially when you have Acheron) but if you don't return that person into their default emotion you won't be able to access the shop anymore.

Ah Firefly. Absolute GF material(for me atleast. Some people kinda don't like her). This made me want to pull for her(and further in the story,the game REALLY made me want to pull for her. Of course not gonna spoil why). I really wanted to hug her in this scene. Ah,my heart aches.
Also,odd but perfect timing to do the Foxian Tale of the Haunted quest on Halloween. Can't really join and watch the stream but I'll be watching the VOD when it's up :)

About how the dreamscape works: yes, it is all just a dream, a controlled, shared dream. Your real body is still in the bath tub, and time is still running for you there. So, you could, theoretically, just die in real life and outright disappear from the dream.
I thought this, too. It would make sense overall. But it does come with some unexplained stuff, especially with the revelation at the end of 2.0. I hope you get what I mean without getting into spoilers.
Some of the best quests are adventure quests in Penacony. It’s fine if you wait until the end of Penacony, but please check them out and record them eventually. There are five in particular that are fantastic, including one that is not available until the Penacony arc is mostly done.

Spoiler free about Firefly. Her sleeping body in the real world is getting the medical help she needs to not get worse while she's in the dream. Just like you're asleep in a pool of sedatives, she's presumably sedated and hooked up to IVs and stuff.
When exploring on your own, you might want to lower the volume of the BGM a bit, so you can better locate the hidden origami birds. I loved how one of them hid in the flowers during Firefly's sad story. It did not make it into the selfie, though. 😁
You run past quite a few of them, inclusive smashing one in a balloon unsuccessfully. As the rewards are really useful, you might want to find a lot of them (IIRC you need to find 20 from each flock to get the respective final reward).

In my understanding Dream in penacony is like anime SAO you lie on bed and your “mind” transferred to virtual reality (the dream)
Mage you don't have to record it but do the blue missions and clockwork in downtime when you feel like it. Penacony has the most engaging npcs I have seen in this game so far. Also you get clockie credits from it so eventually you may have to do it......

do what you like mate, changing npc emotions - you can do that on your own, plus most side quest will make you do it, they always lead in that direction, the whole world is made for a reason that relate to the peoples emotions. oh and one thing if you want to concider, make sure you check all mesages from misha and gallagher before you finish penacony.... there is reason i wont spoil but please dont miss those messages, you will understand when you done with the world why.
